FRANKEN OWED BACK TAXES IN 18 STATES; PAYS BACK TAXES DUE IN KENTUCKY TO OHIO
By Michael B. Brodkorb | July 7, 2008
Team Franken told the Pioneer Press‘ Political Animal that taxes due for a speaking event Franken had in Kentucky were mistakenly paid to the state of Ohio. This was never publicly disclosed in any media reports about Franken’s tax problems. If the NRSC hadn’t sent out their press release ten days ago, Minnesotans never would have known that Team Franken had made payments to Kentucky for back-taxes.
In response to the events listed in the NRSC press release, Team Franken admitted that “[s]ome of the events were unpaid” and other events “may have been paid”:
“Some of the events were unpaid, therefore he wouldn’t owe taxes for visits to those states, the events in DC and Nevada may have been paid but both of those states have residency requirements…” Source: Pioneer Press/Political Animal, June 26, 2008

I think it’s reasonalble for Team Franken to disclose which events “were unpaid” and which events “may have been paid.” If you’re keeping track at home, the total number of states that Franken owed back taxes in is now 18.

If you’re keeping tract at home, the amount Jeff “Landlord” Larson now owes the District of Columbia for taking a Homestead Exemption he was not entitled to is now $3,542.21, and may not include updated penalty and interest.

If you’re keeping track, Mikey, in how many states did Franken overpay taxes, or pay taxes where none was required?

And, to keep the line going, if you are keeping track at home, how many states did the republicans accuse him of not paying in where, in retrospect, no payment was due?
I believe last week, you all tried to push the number to 28, which, when only means you were off by 1/5 of the country.

Good point, Coleman Exposer. After all, there’s no appearance that Franken was trying to cheat, unlike the CEO of the Host Committee for the RNC National Convention.

A little more slavish devotion to the candidate?
It appears so.
July 7th, 2008 at 11:34 am
Nope! A little more fun at republiCon expense!
So, Troy - how does it feel, knowing that the CEO of the Host Committee for the RNC National Convention, is a property tax cheat?

I don’t feel much, TommyJohnson. If they indeed broke the law, justice would be served if they paid what they owe plus penalties.
Anyway, I guess I won’t be voting for this person in the upcoming elections. Are they on a ballot somewhere? Or is this more of a diversionary tactic? Are you working hard to pull attention away from Franken’s Financial Follies? Such devotion!

The foaming at the mouth deflection attempts make me wonder how much TJ and his minions must be being paid to defend such a lousy candidate as Angry Al.

I’ll bring it back home.
When MDE (as an arm of Ron Carey) accused Franken of not paying taxes in twenty eight states, and it now turns out that he misfiled taxes in 18 states, would it be more accurate to say that Michael was 35 percent wrong, or simply that he was off by 1/5 of the states?

“Misfiled” - for years, under the advice of professional CPA’s.
Uh, huh.
And this is the guy they want to trust your health care to.

John McCain failed to pay property taxes on a condo in California for four years. What would happen if you or I failed to pay our taxes for four years? I guess it is hard to remember to pay your taxes when you own seven homes. Where is Michael’s uproar about McCain being a “tax cheat.”
July 7th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
So many questions, so few answers from MDE’s Echo Chamber.
July 7th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
Lots of questions, Angry Al and his defenders refuse to answer. Why did he avoid paying workers comp? Why did he run from his responsibility to his employees? Why does he run as a “man of the worker” when he ran like a little girl from paying for his workers comp premiums? Why did he avoid paying taxes in so many states? Why did he lie to Tom Hauser on “At Issue” stating there were no more states he hadn’t paid taxes to when he knew, in fact, there were more?
Those are just a few that come to mind. And since the pornographer has decided to not answer these real questions, I wouldn’t feel obligated if I were MDE or anyone else to answer the deflection attempts of his paid defenders.

I wish I was gettin’ paid.

You’re a sick man, “Swiftee.”
And the base, too.

Hmm..I believe this was on a property set up as a trust on a condo for his wife’s aunt??? Not sure. Maybe it was his aunt. But do you suppose the taxes are paid at this point in time?? Since everyone and their dog, including yer dumb ass, knows about it?? Do you suppose there might have been some penalties?? Do you suppose that whom ever was managing the trust paid them…or McCain himself?? So where does the ‘cheat’ come in.
Retard….
