You say that Norm Coleman is trying to use Ron Carey as a shield. Last time I looked Tommy Norm when he holds a press conference doesn’t have Ron Carey with him just like Al doesn’t have this Mel character running around with him.

No matter how you spin it Tommy Boy Al by your own standards is a crook who doesn’t deserve a vote for US Senate. It looks like if you’re going to be honest with what you’re preaching you’re voting for the Independence Party or the Green party’s candidate for US Senate since Tommy Johnson doesn’t support crooks.

The real issue is Norm “Smokescreen” Coleman hiding behind republiCon Ron, who has the same type of paperwork problems that Franken has.

If memory serves, the single largest fine in state campaign finance board history is held by Tim Pawlenty. And he was subsequently re-elected, without any call from the right for him to step aside.

I guess I have to agree with Tommy on this one. If you fail to pass judgment on the candidates you agree with, you lose the right to do so with the candidate with whom you disagree.

I’m not saying “it’s ok for franken ’cause carey did it first”; I’m saying you guys are (cheney)in’ hypocrites for condemning Franken for what Carey did before.

To be honest Tommy if you haven’t heard there are a lot of Republicans who aren’t happy with how the Republican Party has been run. That could be an issue when the party decides if Carey retains his job. Last time I looked both Tim Pawlenty and John Mccain thought they were the offical voice of Republican ideas in Minnesota not Ron Carey.

But that aside because the DFL has endorsed Al Franken he is the spokes person for their beliefs. He speaks for Betty M, Walz, Madia, and your state house candidates. Wow all those people endorse women being raped! And they support crooks to since Franken is a crook since he did the same crime as Carey. Not to mention multiple time.

So Tommy why do you support a crook for US Senate?

Funny, for a guy who’s “so concerned” about hypocrisy, Tommy’s MNBlue blog doesn’t contain a word about Al Franken’s law breaking, tax cheating and ethical failures… One would think if he cared about hypocrisy Tommy would cover both sides…

Could it be that The Fascist Tommy Johnson couldn’t give a shit less about hypocrisy? Could it be that Tommy’s as big a hypocrite as there is.

Franken having violated campaign finance laws is certainly something that should be taken into consideration, but in and of itself is obviously not a deal breaker for the voters.

The actual issues are these:

1) The vastness of his propensity to violate the law. 17 (I mean at least 18) states where he didn’t pay taxes. This campaign finance violation. The Worker’s Comp. Etc.

And bigger yet

2) Franken has lied to the people’s face time after time after time after time after time for several months now.

Every time Franken tells us he’s coming clean, a new revelation comes out.

He knew while state after state where he has avoided taxes was laid out for the public that he had this fine for violating campaign finance laws. He tried to hide it, going so far as to fail to properly disclose it.

And setting aside all of the intricacies of FEC Regs (which are arguably onerous and damaging to public discourse) he should have disclosed this to the public as a matter of common decency.

He expects the voters to trust him in office to be an advocate or opponent of public policy that can have a profound effect on the livelihoods of people. That trust is not something to be taken lightly.

So when he lies time after time after time, it becomes a big deal.

So don’t trivialize this with your small minded deflections Tommy.

The actual scandal has nothing to do with the FEC violation, and you know it.

I just wonder if the press will let Franken get away with playing them the way he has.

And since republiCon Ron is the highest GOP Party Official, he’s the official face of the GOP Party.

And since the official face of the GOP is a hypocrite, the GOP is the party of hypocrites.

And crooks, too.

to use your logic than any Democrat who wants to say that Al Franken deserves to be a US Senator endorses bad jokes of woman being raped (that might help explain your sick mind), endorses insulting people (oh wait a minute you already do that), and still endorse the concepts that rules don’t matter if it’s a democrat.

Last time I looked Franken was a candidate in an important Senate race while Ron Carey wasn’t running for office. Given the situation the person who deserves more attention is Al Franken. Especially given his lack of character
is demonstrated by this and his language issues.

If you want to talk about unaccountable why is it that Democrats want to be measured for their intentions not their results. The great society programs destroyed the black colture, but the Republicans gets called racists by the Democrats. The welfare reform program of 1996 was called racist helped repair some of that damage. Do I need to go on?

Why should you expect a corporation to obey rules when the Democrats who pass the laws don’t care about obeying them?

At least now I know why you disagreed with my comment last week that you don’t really care about hypocrisy. It’s because you don’t know what hypocrisy is.

For example, you’re a major hypocrite when you say “I want to talk about the issues”… and then change the subject to Ron Carey, call everyone insulting names, and libel everyone you disagree with.

Your not only a hypocrite, Tommy. You’re a bald-faced liar, a cheat and a fool…

Fortunately, for America, you’re a member of the soon-to-be Permanent Minority Status party.

Oh, so it’s not the GOP or Ron Carey now. It’s Michael who is a former employee of Ron and the GOP… so, you’ve extended your line of association.

So, basically all bets are off. Anyone one within 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon can no longer win an Academy Award.

True. The reason Ron Cary deserves more press coverage is Ron Carey’s transgressions is representive of how the Republican Party of Minnesota actually performs it’s duties and because Ron Carey the public face of all that the GOP is supposed to represent.

And what Ron Carey represents is “while us republiCons talk a good game, we don’t want to be held accountable when the score is tallied.”

Which, of course, is but one more reason why GOP now stands for GreedOverPrinciples.

There are three major differences.

One, in order to defend Al Franken you keep mentioning Ron Carey. Last time I looked Norm Coleman was running against Al Franken. Saying Franken is alright because this person did something worse is no defense. However if you want to compare the evidence here 19 state or reporting agencies violations for Franken versus one for Carey. About $85,000 in taxes or penalaties versus $16,000 for Carey. Seems like Al is the naughtier boy.

Two, if Carey was running for a public office which he isn’t I will say it was fair game to raise the issue. However if he was it will hurt him. It could also hurt him the next time the Republicans elect their state party leadership.

Three, I think I have said some bad things about Republicans. Mind you I have done it in the form of letters to that particular Republican. So excuse me your twisting the shoe doesn’t fit.

You’re still a person who thinks that Republicans are evil and Democrats do nothing wrong.

Untrue. The reason Al Franken gets more press for his transgressions is because he is trying to represent Minnesota in the U.S. Senate.

Many Minnesotans think we can do better than Franken. Heck, many DFLers think we can do better than Franken.

My take on this is: Carey was responsible for some paperwork that got filed late; the FEC fined the MnGOP; no big deal. Franken’s PAC filed some paperwork late; the FEC fined ‘em; no big deal.

But, here’s what you bootlickers are falling for:
