STAR TRIBUNE: “PAC FORMED BY FRANKEN WAS FINED FOR FILING A LATE REPORT”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | July 9, 2008

“Midwest Values PAC, the political action committee formed by DFL Senate candidate Al Franken to promote Democratic candidates, was fined $7,200 last year by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for filing a campaign finance report late.

The report, covering October through November 2006, was filed in January 2007 after missing the due date. The fine was paid last October, according to FEC records.

Franken formed the PAC in 2005 to raise money for Democratic candidates nationwide. Since then it has raised more than $1.1 million, much of it from entertainers including Barbra Streisand and Larry David.

Midwest Values was one of 23 political committees fined for improper reporting. Although the FEC issued a news release in March, the action against Midwest Values wasn’t generally known until it appeared Tuesday on Minnesota Democrats Exposed, a Republican blog.” Source: Star Tribune, July 8, 2008

Wow.. this just demonstrates how inept the strib is. What do you mean it wasn’t generally known? There was a freaking press release announcing it months ago — and, publication on MDE surely doesn’t make something significantly more “generally known.”

I’ll give ‘em this Tommy, it was a good re-direct by the Franken campaign.

Both issues (the PAC fine and the apartment rental issue) are dumb.

Tommy: You can’t post an entire story. Re-post the story with the relevant section.

Kyle, I thought it was a good pivot, too.

BTW – you goin’ to Billy’s, tonight?

    Remember this one?

Republican gubernatorial candidate Tim Pawlenty has now accepted full responsibility for campaign practices that a state review board found illegal. The decision could represent a substantial setback for Pawlenty, who also announced he would temporarily suspend television ads while his campaign assesses its options. But Pawlenty vows he’ll vigorously press the campaign until the end.

Not sure I can make it tonight. How late will y’all be there?

Cheeto boy will stay as long as the moon pies and twinkies hold out.

BTW, cheeto boy? If anyone knows what a good pivot looks like, it’s you.

Go with that, Scrotee. It makes reality that much easier for you to ignore, while you slay moonbats and peruse your favorite full-frontal male-nudity links.
