THE FIX DOWNGRADES U.S.SENATE RACE – AGAIN
By Michael Brodkorb | July 18, 2008
In the latest rankings from The Fix of U.S. Senate seats likely to switch from Republican to Democrat or Democrat to Republican, Minnesota’s U.S. Senate race has dropped down to the last position – #10.
“10. Minnesota (R) : Entertainer Al Franken (D) has had a dismal last few months in his race against Sen. Norm Coleman (R), and polling reflects it. The most recent survey conducted in the contest put Coleman ahead 52 percent to 39 percent. That might be a bit on the high side but even Democrats acknowledge Franken has work to do. Franken has put together a solid campaign team but needs to right the ship — and quick. (Previous ranking: 9)” Source: The Fix/Washington Post, May 16, 2008
In the last few months, Minnesota’s U.S. Senate race’s place on the “Line” has gone from a high of #5 to a new low of #10 – a drop of 5 positions. While I’m sure Minnesota’s position on the Line will move up and down over the next few months, I’m not aware of any U.S. Senate race that has dropped more on the Line than Minnesota’s U.S. Senate race.

Al has a big job ahead of him but after all, isn’t that what makes the process fun? I don’t think polls showing him significantly behind Norm Coleman are necessarily wrong right now, but I think a lot of Norm’s support is soft. Al has taken a series of inevitable hits in the last couple of months but the fact that he has gotten a lot of them out of the way early may be to the long term advantage of his campaign. Al has money, and he has energy, and in politics, especially Minnesota politics, those are two of the best things to have.

It must be all of Norm’s labor support behind him:

Norm should be so proud that he is almost out of the the top 10 of most vulnerable incumbent Senators,
If I were him, I would declare “Mission Accomplished” and suspend the campaign so as to plan for a lavish inauguration party.

Al is an idiot. Bye bye, Al.

Norm is a liar, as proven on WCCO-TV:

Bye bye, Smokescreen.

Hey fat liar, Tommy. Tell me how Coleman has lied?
Coleman DOES NOT SUPPORT the federal legislation to STRIP employees of their right to a secret ballot when being INTIMIDATED by unions.
The ads, not created by Coleman or his campaign, say that Norm does not support the federal legislation to STRIP employees of their right to a secret ballot when being INTIMIDATED by unions.
There’s no lie. Brian Melendez should watch his rhetoric. A Democrat calling anyone a liar, is like watching a snake call someone fork tongued.

You know who’s shameless, that no class, no talent ass clown Al Franken. That dumb bastard is for selling out U.S. Soldiers, unless he’s in front of a VFW crowd. That dumb bastard is for punishing us with higher gas taxes, unless it’s not politically convenient anymore.
That shameless, carpetbagging prick has the gall to move back to Minnesota 25 years after leaving, and then demand we elect him to Senate office.
That shameless prick has the gall to say he’s “for workers” when he denied his own employees basic insurance.
That shameless prick wants to tax the food off my kid’s plate, but won’t pay his own fair share.
You know who’s shameless? That no-tallent ass clown Al Franken, that’s who’s shameless.

Go with that Tommy, if it makes it easier for you to keep you head up your ass ignoring reality.

Cheeto boy is still drunk from his golf outing.
But he can be forgiven this time…after all, it’s not every day that mom comes to watch you play is it, Cheeto boy?

Scrotee, why are you taking a break from your fantasy world?

Such a shallow existence you lead, Scrotee.

So tell us, Cheeto Boy.
Has ol’ Porn-O-Rama promised to find a place for you when he moves back to NYC after Norm slaps him down in November?
Even though I’m sure he tells you that you’re his #1 cornhole dude I wouldn’t be telling mom you’re moving out of the basement, if I were you.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he snubs you…he has a history of sh*tting on his employees.

I sorry. I’m still laughing about someone quoting ‘CCO as a political source.
I think Tommy is as fair and balanced as ‘CCO, just without the makeup and lighting.

Maybe, but I’d rather be trapped in an elevator with Amelia Santaniello.
