TEAM FRANKEN HIRES NOTORIOUS HATCHET MAN; SHORR’S PREVIOUS ADS FEATURING OSAMA BIN LADEN HAVE ANGERED DEMOCRATS #2
By Michael B. Brodkorb | July 21, 2008
In a new story about the U.S. Senate race, Minnesota Public Radio mentions that Team Franken’s advertising may become “more aggressive“:
“Franken’s new ad could be a sign of a more aggressive campaign to come. He’s hired Sen. John Edward’s former presidential campaign spokesman along with two well known media consultants.” Source: MPR, July 21, 2008
Click here for the complete story.
As I wrote before, as we enter the final months of the election, Minnesotans should expect the advertising and campaign rhetoric from Team Franken and their allies to get even nastier.

Well, hey! If anyone knows nasty electioneering, i’t s GOPer!
You guys really hate it, when what ya do is done back at ya.
Maybe an ad opening with Saddam and Osama, and then Norm? You know, like your republiCons did to Cleland?
Maybe an ad at Norm, along the veins like you guys did to Ford, in Tennessee?
THAT would be nasty, but hey – you guys are the experts.

Am I the only one who thinks that any candidate who employs Scott Howell as their ad guy is on pretty shaky ground when it comes to questioning the ethics of the opponent’s ad guy?
MY favorite quote about Howell:
“If a political attack ad crosses boundaries of good taste, is emotionally manipulative, excessively ominous, twists facts, exploiting hot-button issues of race, sex and terror, and winds up being condemned by civil rights groups, the chances are that ad has been produced by Republican hitman Scott Howell.”

If certain types of political ads are wrong then they are just as wrong when comedian Al Franken or any other person uses them. These ads that send misleading flashy negative messages.
People, politics is rough and can at times cross the boundaries of social acceptance. That is why each campaign and each message should be evaluated separately on its own merit. Al Franken and Norm Coleman’s race for United States Senate is in Minnesota, not in the South where the Democratic Party has race baiting down to a science. Just look at the Clinton Primaries. I was damn angry at Hilary and Bill Clinton for messing with Obama’s campaigning by trying to use race to undermine him.
This race is in Minnesota…now listen; in Minnesota we tend to have more enlightened public sparing. The people here tend to be practical and thoughtful. Our politics usually are more based in fact and merit even if this is frustrating for candidates that have public records that expose certain unflattering history. No one made up Al’s past and recent behavior and jokes.
This election will be based on the candidates and the candidate’s message and how they each ran their campaign. If you look at this Senate campaign can you honestly say with a straight face that Franken has run a clean campaign? Or has Franken gone to the old primitive campaigning style of “us against them” and childish blame-mongering. Al seems desperate now as he offers goodies in one hand while he reaches in our back pants pocket for our wallets with the other!
I’m ready to listen to Franken discuss real issues and where he stands on principle and what Bills he is ready to work with others on to pass to make this country healthier. What committees does he want to serve on? What is his vision for Minnesota and the United States? What is Franken going to do to help solve the energy crisis we face? What about making sure that this country’s citizens and law abiding potential citizens have a shared vision that would allow everyone opportunity to share their gifts, skill, culture and kindness in ways that unites this country but at the same time strengthens all our individual freedoms and rights guaranteed by the Constitution. Is Franken going to inspire in Minnesotan’s their very best natures in order to meet the challenges we face today and the future?
Even a million Al Franken’s couldn’t make a dent in solving this country’s problems (indeed it would make them far worse). I don’t think politics brings out the best in Al and I don’t blame him for that. I think Al was called to do something else in life (not necessarily satire).
Everyone knows Franken is a Democrat he doesn’t need to comparatively contrast that any more. The lines are clearly drawn. What people want is a person who can work within the wide ideological spectrum of Democrats, Independents and Republicans on Capitol Hill. The crisis’s we face today have one positive silver lining and that constituents and their elected officials are all concerned enough now to compromise and work out real solutions. Everyone is going to have to work together and compromise in order to insure the votes required to pass legislation that will put the country back on track.
We need problem solvers in Congress now and we need people who with proven backgrounds and many years of proven history of having the capabilities to work with others and get things done. This election is not about Democrat verses Republican, it’s deeper than that. Most Minnesotan’s understand this even if all our candidates running for higher office don’t.

That was well reasoned and logical.
HOW DARE YOU? Don’t you know what site this is?
If you want to throw around well reasoned, logical points that are more than a sentence-long insult, I highly recommend you find another site.
This one is reserved for monkeys tossing their own poo.

Can anyone say with a straight face that Norm Coleman was not happy that he failed his USA military Draft Physical?
Don’t you think that I could write a well-reasoned and logical piece on this?

ElP
You’re a Broken record that nobody listens to.
If all you have is Norm failing a draft board for being to skinny… get a life and who cares!!
People questioned Bill Clinton, George Bush and many others on the service record and no one cares.
For that matter what is Al’s record?
Oh that’s right he is a Rape supporter!!!
