I am so tired of this pathetic schtick!!! I understand the angle (appeal to Joe-Six-pack and all), but who doesn't know these facts about Al?

Would Mr. Coleman please come out with a commercial that explains how he has worked toward: cutting run-away government spending, effectively dealing with illegal immigration, eliminating ear-marks, doing away with a myriad of counter-productive social programs, supporting domestic drilling off our shores and in ANWR while searching for alternatives that DO NOT need to be subsidized (if ethanol is so great, let it stand on its own in the market), creating legislation that would allow more Americans to obtain healt-care through free-market solutions (health savings accounts, getting rid of needless mandates, making insurance plans portable, etc.).

Please get rid of these jokers, get in front of a camera yourself, and address the aforementioned issues for a substantial part of your voting block!

Man up and show us some conservative cred!!

Did the guy in GOP RED pull a fast flip-flop?

Did he get a FALSE FRONT TOOTH for political ad #2?

If he did, does this re-make, make him more appealing for a US Senate run?

Will the guy in purple run for the US Senate under the Vikings Party?

Will the guy in maroon run for the US Senate under the Gophers Party?

Does the guy in GOP RED live in the state of MN?

This is a terrible ad- their accents sound more like Chicago (da' Bears) than Minnesota and I don't get the point...that guys who bowl are so low that even they could run for Senate?

Very bad ad.

Average Joe, I have seen Norm Coleman act inappropriately with a young women at a party firsthand. I have heard nearly half a dozen other stories from friends.

It is a known fact in both DFL and GOP circles, so it's very entertaining to watch Republicans blow it off anyone who says it as a nutjob.

If Norm wants to have an open marriage that's fine, but he shouldn't lie about it when somebody calls him on it.

New poll out today!

---------------
The poll of likely Minnesota voters conducted by Quinnipiac University has Obama up 46 to 44, within the survey's margin of sampling error. Last month, the same pollsters put Obama 17-percentage points ahead of McCain.

Meanwhile, the same poll of 1,261 voters gives Republican incumbent Norm Coleman a 15-point lead over Democratic challenger Al Franken in the state's U.S. Senate contest.

There is no evidence that the Employee Free Choice Act would eliminate the secret ballot, in fact, there is evidence in the form of the wording of the measure that says that it won't. But that does not keep Norm from repeating something he can not prove.

I guess its true what they say, what is good for the goose is good for the philanderer.

Norm is the guy who is running around on his wife

I know liberals like to say this (over and over and over again), but where's the proof? Where's the beef?

We have pictures of John Edwards selling out his cancer-stricken wife. Where are the photos of Norm?

Until there is evidence, this is nothing but sleeze and smear by clearly desperate liberal nut jobs.

"As careful Senate watchers know, Franken did pay state income tax but paid it to the wrong states"

Yep, and when I grabbed those T-Bones from the meat case and lunds, and went over to pay for them at Cub, the cops didn't call that shop lifting.

As careful Franken watchers know, Al Franken didn't pay taxes in 18 states he was supposed. It gives not a shit whether or not he paid other taxes to other states.

Pete, I think you have the "slime ball" label reversed. Norm is the guy who is running around on his wife and wagering much more of a negative campaign then Al.

Norm always will be nothing more then a sick joke.

Nice to see an honest ad. People need to get the message that the DFL is running a slime ball for the US Senate. Most people will reject him because it is obvious Angry Al does not represent their values.

Again, lib clowns are so predictable. This is about the mildest "attack" ad I've ever seen - and all it does is mention facts about Angry Al. Claiming that the presentation of basic, known facts about the porn writer is going to "bomb" is what is really laughable. In a day when liberal commercials are mean-spirited and factually inept, this one is going to be seen for what it is - a presentation of facts on an unfunny clown with zero experience for the job.

I'm glad they released the ad. This is going to bomb. WCCO already went after Coleman for transcending the campaign into being about personal attacks. And, it's just a matter of time before someone says, "wait a second, didn't you just complain about negative ads two days ago?"

From The Political Animal:

Oh, it is on.

In Republican Sen. Norm Coleman's fifth TV ad, the Senator dispenses with the niceties and goes straight for Democratic candidate Al Franken's weaknesses.

The script:

“The guys and I have been talking. We’ve read all this stuff about Al Franken: Not paying taxes. Going without insurance for his employees. Foul mouthed attacks on anyone he disagrees with. Tasteless, sexist jokes. Writing all that juicy porn. And we’ve decided we’re running for US Senate. Why not? We’re just as qualified as Al Franken, and we’re better bowlers.”

The ad skirts the truth in its attack, however. As careful Senate watchers know, Franken did pay state income tax but paid it to the wrong states and Franken didn't pay enough workers compensation insurance taxes in New York state but no one went without insurance as a result. Question: The truth is bad enough for Franken, why bother to exaggerate and misstate it in a TV ad?

Well, Rachel - it's because it's in the nature of today's republiCon to make shit up.

They can't help it; it's ingrained.

And that's why the GOP is destined for Permanent Minority Status; reasonable people reasonably cannot trust 'em.
