WILL LORD FARIS BE INVITED TO FARM FEST?
By Michael B. Brodkorb | July 23, 2008
Last week it was reported that Al Franken and U.S. Senator Norm Coleman would be appearing together at a candidates’ forum next month at Farm Fest. The Star Tribune also reported that Franken refuses to debate Priscilla Lord Faris. I know that Franken hasn’t lived in Minnesota for most of the past 30 years, but receiving the DFL endorsement doesn’t make you the legal DFL candidate. That only happens after the winning the DFL primary election in September.
Given that Lord Faris is a well-known, well-respected female attorney and business person, I’m more than a little surprised to learn that Franken is going to blow her off given the hits he has taken for being more than just a little insensitive to issues related to women.
I’ve left a message for Lord Faris’ campaign to see whether or not she has been invited to participate in the candidates’ forum at Farm Fest. I would hope that even if she isn’t invited that she would call Farm Fest and insist on being included. I’ve have e-mails into the Franken and Coleman campaigns, to see whether they would agree to have her included in the forum.
I will let you know what Lord Faris says if she calls me back. It will be interesting to see whether the Farm Fest organizers will allow Lord Faris to participate if she requests to be included.
Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more information on this developing story.
UPDATE: I also contacted former U.S. Senator Dean Barkley and Jack Uldrich to see if they will be participating in the upcoming Farm Fest debate.

I disagree with your statement that Lord Faris is well known…
She may be known by a handful of DFL insiders, but if you ask the average person on the street they would have no idea!
Like it or not Franken will crush Lord Faris, unless she can raise 5 million or so and put ads on TV tomorrow. I’m not holding my breath…

Did you contact Norm Coleman and Jack Shepard to see if they’re going to debate? Winning the endorsement doesn’t make Coleman the legal Republican candidate. This only happens after beating Jack Shepard in the Republican primary in September.

I agree. The viciously unknown Lord Farris deserves to be on the stage. Right next to the viciously felonious Jack Shepard.
If one doesn’t make it, the other shouldn’t either.

Receiving the Republican endorsement doesn’t make you the legal Republican candidate. That only happens after the winning the Republican primary election in September.
Therefore, Jack shepherd should be allowed to participate in all of the debates.
Yeah, that’s as reasoned as this post.

Jack Shepard is a wanted fugitive living in Italy, isn’t he? Are you attempting to compare a well-known family and respected attorney with that? Please.

It is true that Democrats care about women and minorities, every 4 years or so.

If I were Franken, I’d want Lord Faris sitting between Norm and I, in case Norm got a little “frisky.”
I’d be afraid of Angry Al since he’s the guy who has been fantasizing about rape and writing porn.

If Dean Barkley is invited it would stand to reason she should be as he is not a major party endorsed candidate, that candidate Stephen Williams is a farmer so it would be odd for him not to be invited. By the way Dean Barkley is going to have to do something significant if he wants to hold off Jack Uldrich.

Priscilla would have had plenty of opportunities to debate Al, had she contested the endorsement. For whatever reasons, she decided to pass up those opportunities, choosing instead to support Franken for the nomination. She can’t get those chances back now.
