WHAT DOES FRANKEN FEAR?
By Michael B. Brodkorb | July 24, 2008
Al Franken has made it clear that not only won’t he debate Priscilla Lord Faris, but he intends to ignore her candidacy. Under most circumstances, that would appear to be a credible strategy.
Yet these are not most circumstances. For Franken, his political career is one storyline away from total collapse as his campaign continues to reel from his repeated lapses in not paying his taxes, his crude and vulgar rape jokes and his continued short temper and controlled management of interacting with the Minnesota press.
By making it obvious he intends to ignore the one credible female candidate in the race for the United States Senate and one that is challenging him for the legal right to be the DFL candidate for Senate in November, Franken will even deepen his rift with women. Virtually every legitimate poll shows Franken flailing in the Northeast, hardly doing very well with union households — and unlike other presumed competitive races in the country — he and U.S. Senator Norm Coleman are running neck and neck among women.
Franken’s campaign couldn’t even muster up a respectful comment about Lord Faris. They are afraid to even utter her name — or maybe it’s just complete disdain for her even running. She has been remarkably candid about her concern that Franken cannot beat Coleman, but she has been respectful and even offering up positive comments about Franken as a person.
Franken’s response:Â Silence.
Team Franken constantly looks for a lifeline in a recent Rasmussen Poll to show that they are not in as bad of a place as they really are in polls with Coleman. By treating the candidacy of Lord Faris with so much disrespect, it will only further create rifts with an important constituency and one that Team Franken is currently not doing very well with across the state.
Democrats.

Nice to see you finally supporting a DFLer for a change, Michael. In no time at all, you’ll an Obamaphile.

This is some pretty dishonest drivel. To try to relate this to women in this manner is disrespectful. There were already 17 debates for the DFL endorsement.
All you are trying to do is distract everyone from Coleman. That’s the only purpose in all of these continued Lord Faris posts. It’s MDE/Coleman/MNGOP that are the only people that care… for some strange reason.

Al is also ignoring the candidacy of democratic candidate Alve Ericson.
Is this a sign that he is also ignoring the candidacy of a credible male? From everything I have seen, Alve Ericson is just as credible a candidate at Lord Faris.

What is Coleman afraid of? Publius reported yesterday that he is ducking debates.
This is just another sign that Coleman is terrified to discuss the issues.

What do you mean “flailing in the Northeast”?
