Chestnut-

Funny you would mention out of state financing. How much of Norm Coelman’s loot gathered from the oil industry came from within the boarders of this state? I could ask the same about the checks he has received from Larry Craig and Ted Stevens as well. And Jack Abramhoff, was he using a local address when he was buying face time with our Senator?

Seems to me, given the choice between Hollywood wingnuts sending checks and big oil, tobacco and pharmaceutical sending checks, I am pretty sure I know which one the people of Minnesota would favor.

I think we’re missing two things not mentioned.

One, over confidence of an easy victory. After all Amy K won a large victory and a lot of people figured it will be a repeat of that in 2008.

Two, a lack of being able to coordinate message with your positions. Franken claims that Coleman supports tax cuts for the rich while Franken supports tax cuts for the middle class. Al the tax cuts if not made permanent means the poorest people get a 50% tax rate increase, the marriage and child care credits get taken away. Aren’t you in favor of those tax cuts (wait a minute Coleman is in favor of those as part of making the tax cuts permanent.)

Yep, the Minnesota DFL is such a strong party that it has no one better in its ranks but an imported candidate running on out of state financing and who in turn was required to import a campaign staff.

No wonder they don’t reflect Minnesota values.

They have a bad, bad product in Al Franken. And no number of East Coast political whiz kids are going to change that. It is a character issue and not one of policy. Franken does not have the personal character to be a Senator from Minnesota and Minnesotan’s understand that. This will get worse for Franken, not better. Blois, putting lipstick on a pig doesn’t change what it is.

I don’t think Blois knows what he is talking about. The graphic nature of some of Al’s stuff has to be kept quiet. If Minnesotans knew everything he has written and said he would be run out of the state. Just Google porn-o-rama and Al Franken and start reading. The “F” bomb at public political events is uncalled for. His tacky and dirty treatment of Sen Boxer and Sen Clinton ought to provide a nice entre should he be elected although there is really no chance of that.
