   I saw this ad last night, and nearly spilled my beer. First, that Franken is spinning his history as a tax cheat. Then he rips on someone for paying rent.

   Hey guess what? I paid $600 per month rent in a building that was worth several million dollars once.

   Franken is the lying liar telling lies. Fraud.

   No, Chestnut – the “fraud” is Jeff “Landlord” Larson, and his claiming a Homestead Tax Exemption he wasn’t entitled to.

   And as of yesterday, the Chair of the RNC National Convention Host Committee, Jeff “Landlord” Larson, still owed back taxes on the place ol’ Smokescreen (allegedly) lays his head.

   Typical – a bigshot republiCon, and a tax cheat to boot.

   The rent thing is fairly dumb IMO. Granted, having lived in D.C., $600 for anything less more than a cardboard box on the corner is pretty remarkable, but, I’m more interested in the big money coming in PACS than I am of Coleman saving $800 / mo. on rent.

   Ultimately, there’s enough meat here to expect that it will come out. MnGOP can’t claim foul when they’ve been throwing mud all season especially when 90% of MnGOP’s attacks on Franken are equally (or more) dumb than this.

    The idea that someone actually defends this ad is so funny. “I didn’t pay taxes, but his landlord didn’t either!” Maybe we should investigate Coleman’s barber, too, maybe he didn’t re-up his barbers license or pay his property taxes.
