and this was before mccain outdueled him in the debates on saturday.

other key issue is these were “likely voters”, not registered voters which most polls are still focusing on.

even though surveyusa polls are automated telephone their results have been superb as they were #1 in accuracy in 2004 for state contests (they focus more on state by state polls than national polls).

As voters get to know Barack Hussein Obama and AL “Angry Al” Franken the less they like or trust them. It’s definitely looking better all of the time for Republican candidates this year.

You mean “out-cheated”, ansel. But with what Boy Blunder’s Plunderers did to Bushy McSame in 2000, McSame knows all the dirty tricks.

It’s really disgusting that Bushy McSame would cheat at a church, but what do you expect from a guy that cheats on his wife?

why haven’t the ladies at mnpublius mentioned this poll?

    Great news for the GOP.

    We love Al!!!
He knows how to say it like a real man.

Latest Reuters/Zogby Poll(Aug 14-16th) of likely voters has McCain over Obama 46% to 41%. Much change from the July Poll where Obama was at 47% and McCain at 40%. This should really make the DNC a real blast with the Clinton Clan ready in the wings with this news.

  7. Newton Says:

Don’t you think it’s a bit early for all of these polls? Seems like every day, someone is out with new polling numbers. I’m not sure I believe any of them.

I wonder when people actually begin paying attention to the election? I’m thinking not until well after Labor Day – unless you’re an insider.

  8. ansel Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 8:20 AM

i agree with newton that the polls are somewhat meaningless at this point other than to point at trends.

the trends, obviously, are going for mccain at the moment, but there will be, as karl rove, stated tsunami’s both ways before november.

but for the obama supporters this has to drive them paranoid as they thought they could just walk into the white house. after all, bho is “the one”, “the annointed”.

for those of you that think mccain had an advantage in last saturday’s debate-like performance: if barack is so good at debates why has he continually refused to the series of townhall meetings suggested by mccain. even hilary had agreed to that type of venue had she won (bho you better watch out–hilary may steal the nomination yet).

  9. Walter Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 8:36 AM

Tommy he didn’t out cheat Obama. And if you look at the statement made by the person who ran the debate Obama was told the first three questions while Mccain was told the first two. Even when Obama out cheats Mccain he can’t win!

  10. Chestnut Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 8:49 AM

Tommy, would you care for some slander with that healthy dose of stupid?

  11. Tommy Johnson Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 8:52 AM

Walter, you do know it’s a sin to lie, doncha?

Here is exactly what Rick Warren said, at the biginning of the fraud, er, ‘scuse me, “forum”

NOW WHAT I’VE DECIDED IS TO ALLOW FOR PROPER

16 COMPARISON I’M GOING TO ASK IDENTICAL QUESTIONS TO EACH OF

17 THESE CANDIDATES SO YOU CAN COMPARE APPLES TO APPLES. NOW

18 SENATOR OBAMA IS GOING TO GO FIRST. WE FLIPPED A COIN.

19 AND WE HAVE SAFELY PLACED SENATOR MCCAIN IN A CONE OF

    20 SILENCE.

So, Walter – was McCain in “the cone of silence” when Warren said that, or not?

  12. Tommy Johnson Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 8:54 AM

Say, ChinNuts – you can play, too. The rules are simple, so even a simpleton like you can join.

Was McCain in “the ‘cone of silence’ when Warren started the fraud, er, ‘scuse me, “forum”, or not?

A simple “yes” or “no” will suffice, bootlicker.

  13. Swiftee Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 9:46 AM

Wow! Looks like Cheeto boy must have had a good stuffing this morning; he’s bursting with energy…and cheeseburgers, no doubt.

How many happy meals did you stuff down your gaping, greasy gullet this morning, Cheeto boy?

  14. Tommy Johnson Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 9:49 AM

Not nearly as many as the links to full-frontal male nudity as you’ve clicked on, Scrotee.

  15. Swiftee Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 9:59 AM

    Say, Cheeto boy?

What’s with your obsession with “full-frontal male nudity” and Jeff Gannon? You got a crush on the to-go cashier at Burger King, fat boy?

How can you type, “one hand surf” and stuff food into your greasy pie hole at the same time, boy? Is your mom down there in the basement “holding it” for you, again?

    AHAHAHahahahaaa

Tell her it’s time to get out on the street and earn some money, boy!

    Ahahahahaaa!

  16. Leaving the Left Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 10:04 AM

The Zogby Poll has McCain ahead by five today. Liars never win in the end. They may fool people for a little while but it catches up to them eventually. Check out the groups that Obama has lost ground in. I would say the bleeding will continue until election day. Obama is an empty suit and Americans have figured it out. Thank you drive by media who force fed us with Obama mania.Everyone is officially sick of change we can be proud of.

  17. ManGenius Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 10:07 AM

If McCain cheated it would only explain why he seemed so polished, it doesn’t explain why BHO sucked so bad.

  18. Chestnut Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 10:11 AM

“Was McCain in “the ‘cone of silence’ when Warren started the fraud, er, ’scuse me, “forum”, or not?”

Beats me. I’m not sure if it was a cone, exactly or what shape it was. One thing for certain is that John McCain had the same information going into his session as Barak Obama had.

One thing is also certain…. Barak Obama is a shiftless prick who is incapable of answering questions simply, honestly and directly.

John McCain has no such problems.

  19. Tommy Johnson Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 10:20 AM

Thank you for demonstrating your ignorance of current events, ChinNuts. It also demonstrates why you’re a bootlickin’ republiCon: “Facts are stupid things.”

Reagan said it, you live it, and the GOP now stands for GreedOverPrinciples.

    Good job!

  20. Swiftee Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 10:39 AM

    Say, Cheeto boy?

Speaking of facts, is it a fact that the pile of guts you park your pie hole on top of weighs 300 lbs?

Do you actually chew food, or is it pumped directly into your greasy gut through a tube?

    Give us the facts, boy.

  21. Chestnut Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 10:44 AM

Tommy, don’t confuse your overactive imagination and propensity to tell lies with anyone’s ignorance.

Hint: the voices in your head aren’t real.

  22. Tommy Johnson Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 10:53 AM

Chestnut, was McCain in the so-called “cone of silence” at the beginning of the forum, as Warren claimed at the beginning of the forum, or not?

Don’t hesitate to get help, which you obviously need.

  23. Chestnut Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 10:56 AM

My understanding is that McCain could not hear any part of the exchange between Obama and Warren.

If you have proof to the contrary, please let me know. If not, let’s just file this in to the waste bin where the rest of your two-bit lies, accusations and libel reside.

  24. Chestnut Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 10:59 AM

Honestly, I didn’t watch the exchange. I’ve read the accounts, however, that McCain was polished and straight forward and engaging. He always is.

I’ve also read that Barak Obama was dodgy, evasive and overly broad… He always is.

  25. Chestnut Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 11:01 AM

Maybe the reason Obama had such a hard time is that he’s used to preachers screaming GOD DAMN AMERICA. So it was awkward to hear a normal preacher.

Another reason could be Obama’s general contempt for the audience conflicting with whatever obligation he had to participate.

  26. Tommy Johnson Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 11:26 AM

Nice spin, ChinNuts. Let’s try again:

“Chestnut, was McCain in the so-called “cone of silence” at the beginning of the forum, as Warren claimed at the beginning of the forum, or not?”

  27. Chestnut Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 11:31 AM

    Let’s try again, Tommy.

“My understanding is that McCain could not hear any part of the exchange between Obama and Warren.”

So yes, in effect, he was in silence.

  28. Tommy Johnson Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 11:39 AM

    LIAR!!!

Either that, or you’re doin’ what your herodid…

  29. Chestnut Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 11:44 AM

    Tommy,
If you have proof to the contrary, please let me know. If not, let’s just file this in to the waste bin where the rest of your two-bit lies, accusations and libel reside.

  30. The Audacity of HYPE Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 11:51 AM

So Tommy is saying we should belive him, and not believe the secret service, John Warren and John McCain.

  31. Swiftee Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 11:52 AM

Damn…I bet ol’ tub o’ goo sent pieces of hammmmburger flying everywhere with that last post!

He’s probably down on his knees lickin’ it up off the basement floor right now.

    HAHAHAHAHAhaha

  32. Tommy Johnson Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 12:28 PM

ChinNuts, you bootlicker, even Warren now admits Bushy McSame wasn’t under “the cone of silence”, when Warren claimed he was.

Damn, you got a real case of dumb(cheney) goin’ on today, boy. Then again, you’re a dumb(cheney) every day.

Hype – was Warren mistaken, or lying? You tell me.

  33. Chestnut Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 12:37 PM

    Tommy,
If you have proof to the contrary, please let me know. If not, let’s just file this in to the waste bin where the rest of your two-bit lies, accusations and libel reside.

  34. Chestnut Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 12:38 PM

    Tommy,
McCain could not hear any part of the exchange between Obama and Warren.

If you have proof to the contrary, please let me know. If not, let’s just file this in to the waste bin where the rest of your two-bit lies, accusations and libel reside.

  35. Tommy Johnson Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 3:04 PM

Chestnut, was Warren mistaken about McCain’s whereabouts, or lying?

You can file it where you want to, bootlicker.

  36. Chestnut Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 3:10 PM

Tommy, one more time (with feeling!)

McCain could not hear any part of the exchange between Obama and Warren.

If you have proof to the contrary, please let me know. If not, let’s just file this in to the waste bin where the rest of your two-bit lies, accusations and libel reside.

  37. jay Says:
    August 20th, 2008 at 8:39 PM

Tommy the “cone of silence” was a joke. McCain didn’t have to hear the questions in order to win. He just needed Barry to blow it.
