GHOST TOWN AT FRANKEN’S STATE FAIR BOOTH; ON BUSY FRIDAY NIGHT AT FAIR, MORE STAFFERS PRESENT AT BOOTH THAN FAIR-GOERS

    By Michael B. Brodkorb | August 22, 2008

I was walking to my car after the radio show and I went by Team Franken’s booth at the Minnesota State Fair.  It was a ghost town. I saw three people talking with State Senator Jim Carlson, but that was it.

The two staffers in front of the booth picture above were trying to pass out literature, but the folks passing by didn’t seem interested.  It’s was just after 7:00 p.m. on a Friday night at the Minnesota State Fair and Team Franken’s booth had more staffers at the booth than fair-goers. Embarrassing.

Leave it to Angry Al to reduce event attendence from one to none!

I watched the two staffers in the front of the booth try and get people to take some literature. They people just kept walking by. It was a bust Friday night at the MN State Fair.

Today I actually saw one Franken lawn sign in my Longfellow Minneapolis neighborhood.

Where are the pictures of Norm’s booth?

I walked past Norm’s booth at around 8, and they had apparently already sent everyone home for the night.

If you ask me, having a legislator there engaging voters is a better use of the fair than hiding at home under the bed paralyzed by the recent poll numbers.

Jesus…what’s the job requirements to wear one of those shirts around?

Gotta give em’ creds…that would take some stones..

Probably a whole lot of ‘That Guy’ type people…

That Guy that was always a complete tool when you were growing up…and never quite shook it off.

That Guy that always got his lunch money stolen…

That Guy that spent Prom night playing D&D with the rest of his ‘That Guy’ friends.

      Stuart Smalley…are you there??

Yes Mike, just one Franken sign in around eight residential blocks in Longfellow (which voted for Bush under 20% in 2000 and 2004). I got my main bicycle fixed so hopefully tomorrow I can check out the neighborhood more.

Frickin’ Franken-stien. Who cares? Take away those worker’s rights to a secret ballot, Al!

Stupid post. The booth I’m at is in that general area and every time I go past Coleman’s booth there are only two people working and never more than one interested person talking with them. Franken has a lot more activity.

Besides, 7 on a Friday? Everyone is already drunk by then.

Bullshit, I went through Longfellow today, as well as around the 35W bridge, by the Minnehaha Falls and throughout so. Minneapolis, there weren’t many signs, but when I saw them they were ALL Franken signs. There weren’t any other signs to speak of, not to mention the lack of Coleman signs. I haven’t seen one yet. Someone tell me where they can find a Coleman sign, I’d like to see what their campaign logo looks like!

it says “norm, 08″. for libs the “norm” mean norm coleman. i doubt franken could use “al, 08″ because nobody would know what it means.

today out geocaching around kenwood and lake of the isles I didn’t see either a Franken or a Norm sign. Saw mostly signs for judges and a bunch in one particular block which was yellow had something on it about saving kids or some shit.

but that is two days in a row, haven’t seen a norm lawn sign yet. south Minneapolis, someone direct me to a norm sign!
