COLEMAN’S ENDORSEMENT BY CARPENTERS’ UNION UNDERSCORES FRANKEN’S WEAKNESS
By Michael B. Brodkorb | August 23, 2008
Yesterday’s endorsement of U.S. Senator Norm Coleman by the Carpenters’ Union is a very big deal for close observers of the Minnesota U.S. Senate.
Clearly, Franken’s opposition to more nuclear energy and projects like Excelsior Energy is hurting his union support. Keep in mind, Senator Coleman was earlier endorsed by the powerful Pipefitter’s Union.
As this race goes on, it is becoming obvious that Franken’s demeaning of women, pornographic writings, and failure to pay taxes continues to hurt him with a broad cross-section of Minnesotans, including many union
households.

Michael,
do you just have this line copied to your permanent clipboard on your imac and iphone for quick insert:

Is that how you are going to get Paulsen into Congress by pure and utter repetition? He could have hired someone well versed in data entry. Coming up with something original, not just talking points, must not be that big a virtue in the MNGOP.
Granted Franken, his inexperienced staff, and the DFL lackies, handed this one to ya’ll on a silver platter. in the long run America isn’t gonna improve w/ Coleman in the Senate for another 6 more years. That is where the people of MN and the US will be losing out.
whatever though, McCain will forget he is running for president by November and the Democrats will have the majority in the house/senate. and the the world is ending in 2012 anyways

Begin seriously working on alternative energy, great! More Nuclear Energy is the best possible thing that could happen. The sooner, the better.

I know for a fact that the carpenters were swayed heavily in this decision by the nuclear power hesitance of Franken.
They were proposing a first of its kind wooden nuclear reactor, and Coleman was just politically malleable enough to tell them it was a good idea.

Give me a break. The pornographic writings don’t play either way with the union endorsements. Both the carpenters and pipefitters are still good ol’ boy unions.
These unions are endorsing Coleman because they believe he will probably win.

Where will the Nuculear waste from the power plants go if Coleman supports their building??
The state of Nevada doesn’t want the waste buried in their state. That would be practically in my elderly mother’s backyard.
How about Ted Steven’s state of Alaska!!! There’s lots of frozen acerage that would work.

storing nuclear wastes is not an issue if the libs would understand you can reprocess this material for other uses–i.e. medical usage–much like france and other european nations have done.
second, even if you did not want to reprocess the material, this storage thing is a “political” problem, not an environmental problem. the most significant issue is security and that is one reason the feds have looked to store spent fuel in one location, similar to ft. know and gold.

Check out this picture in the Star Tribune. We have Angy Al and three Frankenoids, a Union official, the young women, most likely too young to vote attending to her prize winning goats (the goats appear to be “turning their back” on Angry Al. I Thing the one potential “public voter” might be the guy in the cowboy hat and white shirt. (Of course it could be the young woman’s father aware of “Porn O Rama”.

I rode the bicycle four miles around the lefty Potemkin Village Longfellow neighborhood where I live. There were four Al Franken signs and then a cluster of three, two in a duplex and one accross the street. I saw six or eight Ellison signs. Maybe twenty to twenty-five Obama signs. Curiously, all of the “Iraq” signs were gone, they were frequent a month ago. I wonder if they are being stolen for RNC protests.
In the Minneapolis Longfellow neighborhood where I live President Bush received under 20% of the vote in both elections. It used to be sign central, with a lefty sign every three of four houses.
I have a State Fair theme idea. How about Angy Al’s head with the red circle with slash symbol and have it portrayed as on a stick. Have a caption like “Just say no to Franken-food”.

the issue i do not believe libs are grasping is that for construction workers to work, there has to be construction. you do not get construction by encouraging alternative energy plants to be placed in other states. you do not get construction by banning building of nuclear plants. you do not get construction by refusing to building electrical infrastructure to carry needed power. you do not get construction by spending the major part of your state budget on non-construction projects like teaching kids that is alright to have two mommies, but never mind you cannot read or write.
so how do you get construction? turn private industry loose and they will drill, build, deliver what the majority of minnesotans want: energy, jobs, satisfaction. norm supports this type of thinking. franken believes the government has to control it. all you need to do is ask yourself what programs the government has run that have been successful?
social secutity? not.
war on poverty? not.
medicare? not
veterans health care? not
military? yes
department of education? not
production of energy? not
increasing taxes to provide government with more decisions over your life? yes
