MINNESOTA SUPER DELEGATE QUESTIONS FRANKEN’S EXCUSE FOR NOT SPEAKING AT DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION

By Michael B. Brodkorb | August 25, 2008

Even Minnesota Democrats are questioning Team Franken’s excuse for Al Franken not speaking at the Democratic National Convention:

‘I would sure like to see that schedule that it didn’t fit,’ said Minnesota Super delegate and chairwoman of the Minnesota DFL Feminist Caucus, Jackie Stevenson. ‘Because had I been a party to it, I would have said hey, wait a minute you’ve got to do this.’

Stevenson said it’s hard for her to understand why Franken would turn down a convention speaking opportunity.” Source: MPR, August 25, 2008

Click here for the complete story.

The Democrats invited Franken to speak at the convention on a day his staff said he would be in Minnesota and not in Denver.

As I wrote before, it is very likely that Franken’s disturbing pornographic writings in Playboy and his vile and disgusting jokes about rape have made some squeamish over the possibility of Franken sharing the stage with leading Democrats in Denver.

Bold lies are operative in the Al Franken campaign. That is the only explanation.

I always wonder about the stupidity of people quoted by the media. The completely obvious reason that Al needs to spend as little time at the convention at get back to Minnesota is the fair. There simply no votes for Al in Denver, and hundreds of thousands of them at the Minnesota State Fair.

It’s because some people in the media still actually read sites like MDE that distributes that kind of garbage.

OK, what is Erik Paulsen’s excuse (your client, MBB!) for dithering over an opportunity to speak at the RNC?

According to the AP, Paulsen says “I’m really focused on the race and during the convention I just want to be campaigning in the district”.

Apparently Paulsen can’t take enough time off from the campaign to drive from CD3 to St Paul…
