FORMER DFL CONGRESSMAN PENNY TRAVELS TO DENVER ANNOUNCE “CITIZENS FOR MCCAIN”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | August 26, 2008

“Former Democratic U.S. Rep. Tim Penny came to Denver on Monday to help launch a new group supporting Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

It was like a sharp stick in the eye for the Minnesota delegates to the Democratic National Convention in the Mile High City.

Penny, who represented southern Minnesota in Congress from 1982 through 1994, spoke at a news conference announcing formation of a ‘Citizens for McCain’ organization to appeal to independents and moderate Democrats. Penny, now an independent, will be Minnesota chairman of that group.” Source: Pioneer Press, August 25, 2008

Remind me what Penny said about T-Paw, would ya, Michael?

Hey – there it is, on Minnesota Public Radio:

    ***
Penny served in Congress as a DFLer. He later became an Independent and lost his 2002 bid for governor to Republican Tim Pawlenty. When asked whether he thought Pawlenty would make a good running mate, Penny said:

“I don’t think he’s had a very remarkable record as governor. He focused mostly on easy issues and popular issues and this is a step up and I’m not sure he’s as well prepared as others for this step up but it’s McCain’s choice to make.”

“Remind me what Penny said about T-Paw, would ya, Michael?”

Who cares. His support is for John McCain, dip shit.

Tommy Johnson, master of the non sequitor… but not master of his own domain.

So, Penny supports Serial Adulterers like McCain, eh?

omg it’s in teh bag for McSame since guv loser penny likes him!!!!!!!!111!

  7. Swiftee Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 11:27 AM

Word “on the street” is that your mom tells her trade that “it ain’t cheating if you pay”, fat boy.

    Say, Rosenberg?

That was pathetic, even for you. But you’re not worried..naaaw.

    *ROTFLMAO!*

well my vote for penny over pawlenty in the first election of pawlenty finally paid off.

i always liked penny as i think he was a reasonable person that believed in cutting spending and balancing the budget rather than an automatic tax increase like today’s libs. i can see how he would like mccain as they both apparently agree the solution to today’s federal budget issues is to cut spending rather than raising taxes.

    thank you tim penny!

Word “at the RNC” is Scrotee’s greetin’ “behind” men’s room door number 3 at the Airport.

It’s a sick world, and Scrotee is a happy guy.

  10. flyi Says:

Tim Penny is a 100% class act. I think he is a reasonable person whose endorsement will be helpful for McCain in southern Minnesota.

On the flip side, if Penny endorses Walz, I think that would pretty much guarantee Walz’s re-election.

  11. Chestnut Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 11:39 AM

Tommy, would you care for a side of libel with that main course of stupidity?

  12. Tommy Johnson Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 11:40 AM

So, what happens if Bushy McSame picks T-Paw, who Penny pretty much said is a dumb(cheney)?

  13. Jeff Rosenberg Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 11:40 AM

Sorry, Swiftee. I guess I don’t measure up to this site’s highbrow content and contributors.

  14. Chestnut Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 11:43 AM

I think it’s interesting how Democrats for the last 7 years have acted with outrage over a supposed whisper campaign against McCain in 2000 that allegedly cost him the nomination.

Now in 2008, those same Democrats are out peddling the most outrageous libel and lies one could imagine about John McCain.

    Interesting, but not unexpected.

  15. Swiftee Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 11:46 AM

Well, if you’re admitting that when it comes to mopping the floor with the opposition, you are not in the same league as MDE, I agree 100% Rosenburg.

As your buddy, Cheeto boy might say, “You’re not fit to lick his boots”.

    Hahaha

  16. Swiftee Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 11:48 AM

    Say, fat boy?

When it comes to man sacks and bathrooms, you’re everyones “go-to” guy!

    HAHAHahaha!

Have another burger…you’re on a roll!

    HAHAHAHAaaa

  17. Chestnut Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 11:49 AM

T-Paw would be a good vp pick for McCain. The same can’t be said of BaraCarter’s pick of Slow Joe “the Plagarist” Biden.

Obama/Biden: Legends in their own minds.

  18. Tommy Johnson Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 11:58 AM

Chestnut, there’s no whisper, it’s out and it’s going to be talked about – especially with the evangelicals – how Bushy McSame is a sellout, that make a joke about putting his wife in the “Miss Buffalo Chip” contest.

But, WT(C)? He’s a cad that famously boinked a stripper named”Marie the Flame of Florida” while at Pensacola – why wouldn’t he put wife numeros dos in a strip contest at Sturgis?

  19. Swiftee Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 12:02 PM

“He’s a cad that famously boinked a stripper named “Marie the Flame of Florida” while at Pensacola..”

Your mom’s still pissed about losing that trade eh, Cheeto boy?

Weeell, give her a cheeseburger and tell her to get over it.

    HAHAHAHAHA

  20. Left is RIGHT Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 12:04 PM

Brodkorb, can you show us where any member of Minnesota’s delegation viewed Tim Penny’s press conference as anything remotely approaching “a sharp stick in the eye?” Were any of them even aware of the press conference?

  21. Swiftee Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 12:05 PM

    Say, Cheeto boy?

I hear they’re going to have a “Miss Nacho Chip” contest at Sturgis next year.

Wear your sundress, tear through a couple o’ dozen bags and you’re a shoe-in!

    Hahahahaha.

I hear 1st prize is a years worth of Dorito’s..mmmmmm, Dorito’s, fat boy. Think about that!

    HAHahhahah

  22. Swiftee Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 12:07 PM

    Say, left is stupid?

Try following the friggin’ link, you idiot.

    God are you people stupid!!!

  23. Chestnut Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 12:15 PM

“Brodkorb, can you show us where any member of Minnesota’s delegation viewed Tim Penny’s press conference as anything remotely approaching “a sharp stick in the eye?” Were any of them even aware of the press conference?”

Ask the reporter at the Pioneer Press who reported it that way, dip shit.

  24. Jim Janos Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 1:14 PM

What a joke. There isn’t a Democrat in Minnesota who would give Tim Penny the time of day, much less give two shits about who he supports for president. This guy has been casting about for a party that will have him for years. At least you gave Swiftee something to do in between his DWIs.

  25. Leroy Jenkins Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 1:38 PM

Yeah. Penny kind of lost all respect when he became a mercenary, working for whatever issues would pay him. His work at the Cato institute had him author a number of position papers that were contrary to the core beliefs that kept him elected when he served here.

It is fine to be a sell out. But don’t expect as much respect for your opinions once you cash that first check.

  26. Swiftee Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 1:50 PM

“when he became a mercenary, working for whatever issues would pay him.”

That’s moonbat speak for “when he refused to support our tax increases”.

    Say “Jim Janos”?

Did you know that you’ve chosen the name of a real life douche to hide behind? Project, much?

    Pfft.

  27. Average Joe Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 2:02 PM

Tommy is the only reason I might ever support abortion. Clearly his mother got bad advice.

  28. Tommy Johnson Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 2:08 PM

That the best you can do, boy?

  29. DJZ Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 4:26 PM

So, In Penny’s last run for Governor, he received HALF of what Skip Humprey got from the overall public.

His district voted for Walz and caucused 2 to 1 for Obama (who’s numbers were three times the Republican turnout).

  30. Chestnut Says:
    August 26th, 2008 at 8:10 PM

Penny would have received more votes in his last gubernatorial run if there wasn’t a realistic chance that the ultra-Fascist Mike Hatch could win.

Faced with the potential of having the DFL’s fascist-in-chief as governor, independents turned out for Pawlenty.

  31. DJZ Says:
    August 27th, 2008 at 9:02 AM

    Would’ve, could’ve, blah blah.

I’m glad Brodkorb let you go unchecked for so long ChinNuts. What’s up with your language? Doesn’t sound like the multi-degreed professional that makes six figures- as you called yourself. You write and come off as the low-brow commoner that your mom raised you to be.

    Have a good day.

  32. Chestnut Says:
    August 27th, 2008 at 9:16 AM

What’s that make you, Ziggy, a trash collector?

  33. DJZ Says:
    August 27th, 2008 at 12:05 PM

    Yep, I’m a trash collector.
You’re still a trailer dweller who doesn’t belong here. Piece of shit of a person you are.
