MN GOP PRESS RELEASE: “OBAMAPALOOZA OVER: OBAMA STILL NOT READY TO LEAD”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | August 28, 2008

St. Paul – Republican Party of Minnesota Chair Ron Carey today released the following statement after Sen. Barack Obama’s speech at Invesco Field.

“Now that Obamapalooza is over and the opulent set is being taken down, it is time to move on to the real business.  No matter how eloquent his speech, his thin record, his opposition to a real energy solution, and his support of tax increases on those making as little as $42,000 per year will not resonate with Minnesotans who are looking for a leader with the experience and judgment to lead our nation.”

I liveblogged the speech here. Sen. Obama is one of the most intellectually dishonest politicians I’ve ever listened to.

I’m currently fisking his speech & will have that posted soon.

The speech Obama gave tonight was inspirational. It was a moment that will go down in Convention history as one of the finest acceptance speech ever made. The Republicans are in deep trouble this election. People want change and McSame is more of the same! No wonder the Republicans want to postpone their convention, they have no way to top the convention or the speech Barack gave tonight. He totally blew them out of the water!

Again, I love how MnGOP thinks anyone cares what it thinks about anything, let along non-minnesota centric races.

I also love how Republicans still think it’s a winning strategy to say “yeah he’s smart, elegant, and can speak … but”

Obama’s speech last night was not only an acceptance speech, but a State of The Union speech . He clearly spelled out to the GOP and McCain campaign that ALL IS NOT WELL IN THE UNION!!! Eight years is ENOUGH!!!!!

It never ceases to amaze me that the GOP will continue its attacks on Obama. Ron Carey will say anything to cover up the desperation that is running through the GOP ranks and the party as a whole. This election will be close, but the choice is clear after last night.

Obama also made it clear that he will not be swiftboated as John Kerry had been 4 years earlier. He called John McCain out in plain terms.

Chris Matthews said it best last night in his overall analysis of the convention itself and Obama’s speech last night..”I don’t know how the Republican Party is going to be able to top this.”

Pat Buchannan was speechless. He praised the speech as the “speech Obama needed to make and he delivered.”

Still, no answer- what opposition to a “real energy solution”?
