MN GOP PRESS RELEASE: “GOV. SARAH PALIN: AGENT OF CHANGE WITH PROVEN RESULTS‏”

    By Michael B. Brodkorb | August 29, 2008

St. Paul – Republican Party of Minnesota Chair Ron Carey released the following statement regarding Sen. John McCain’s selection of Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate.

“Gov. Sarah Palin is a bold and energetic choice for Sen. John McCain’s running mate.  In her time as Alaska’s Governor, she has been a solid conservative, true reformer, and a powerful voice for families.  She will be a dynamic addition to the ticket and will speak to Minnesota’s hockey moms, outdoor sports enthusiasts, and independents.”

      Proven? *snort*

In stead of a now second term blue state Governor with solid conservative credentials, a compelling story and great hair, John McCain’s first presidential choice is to pick a two year Governor of Alaska.

      Ha.

      Sean

Yeah. She proved her chops by exposing Ted Stevens’ River Classic where Norm Coleman was a special guest three times.

      FANTASTIC PRESS RELEASE, MN GOP!!!!

Alaska voters are predominantly male but they elected a woman. With the oil industry booming there is a rape problem which she seems to be doing a good job of dealing with.

Contrary to feminist claims that “all men are rapists” most men abhor rape as seen in Alaska where they elected a woman as Governor. Curiously in liberal/progressive Minnesota it was the democratic feminist caucus that pushed for the the Democratic endorsement of Angry Al Frankein with his “very short fuse” who thought that a Saturday Night Night live skit of Andy Rooney drugging and raping Leslie Stahl would be “funny”. Apparently our local feminist agreed. The silence is deafening by our local feminist on Angry Al Frankens “jokes” about rape.

The other issue is energy which I assume the Governor of Alaska understands well. Far better than Nancy Pelosi who was said that natural gas is not a fossil fuel. “Earth to Queen Nancy. Perhaps Queen Nancy is saying “let them use “alternative fuels” (eat cake).
      talk about “clueless”.

This selection should pick up 5% in the polls for McCain.

      Hiram:

If you’re going to lie like that we know how great this pick was. Just curious if you were Mccain who is the great choice that you were afraid of? Your party didn’t even get the best VP candidate to try to fill out the experience ticket for the democrats.

      Some excerpts about Palin

“Highlights of Governor Palin’s tenure include a successful push for an ethics bill, and also shelving pork-barrel projects supported by fellow Republicans. Palin successfully killed the Bridge to Nowhere project that had become a nationwide symbol of wasteful earmark spending.[10][17] “Alaska needs to be self-sufficient, she says, instead of relying heavily on ‘federal dollars,’ as the state does today.”[11]

She has challenged the state’s Republican leaders, helping to launch a campaign by Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell to unseat U.S. Congressman Don Young[18] and publicly challenging Senator Ted Stevens to come clean about the federal investigation into his financial dealings.[10]

In 2007, Palin had an approval rating often in the 90s.[11] A poll published by Hays Research on July 28, 2008 showed Palin’s approval rating at 80%.[19]

    8. West Metro Dem Says:
      August 29th, 2008 at 12:09 pm

      MON,

How about the investigation into abuse of power?

      http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2008-07-28-2614737237_x.htm

Does that bother you at all? Especially for someone who was a small town (9,000 residents) just two years ago. Not much experience and definitely not much education (communications-journalism bachelor’s from U of Idaho). Very worrisome to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.

I’m not thrilled about Biden because of his issues with the right to privacy either.

    9. Tommy Johnson Says:
      August 29th, 2008 at 12:11 pm

Walter, the Veep is a heartbeat away from the presidency. Biden is clearly ready; Palin clearly is not.

MCain is 72, and the mileage is even more than that. Palen is a poor choice.

“How about the investigation into abuse of power?”

      Holy Cow!!! An INVESTIGATION!!!!

    11. Master of None Says:
      August 29th, 2008 at 12:19 pm

About Mark Wooten the Police Officer that is at the heart of the “INVESTIGATION!!!!!”

” Grimes suspended Wooten for 10 days. He also was punished for illegally shooting a moose and using a Taser on his 10-year-old stepson. The trooper admitted to using the Taser on his stepson in a “training capacity” and said he shot a moose on his wife’s tag, but didn’t think the act was illegal.

…Wall’s investigation did find that Wooten threatened Palin’s sister, Molly McCann, with shooting her father if he hired a lawyer to represent her. Wooten denied making the statement, but Palin, McCann and Palin’s son all confirmed that he did.

Do you really want to side with a police officer who tasered his stepson, and threatened to kill his father-in-law?

    12. West Metro Dem Says:
      August 29th, 2008 at 12:21 pm

Not siding with anyone. Asked a simple question. It is an investigation over abuse of power for firing. Period.

    13. Tommy Johnson Says:
      August 29th, 2008 at 12:22 pm

Is it for the same reason you hate America?

    14. Master of None Says:

      Asshole,

      Why do you hate women?

    15. Tommy Johnson Says:
      August 29th, 2008 at 12:27 pm

MON, I love women just as much as Bushy McSame, and I think it’s wonderful that Bushy McSame wanted to put Wife Numero Dos on stage at Sturgis, to show the drunk bikers how the Future First Lady handles a banana.

Don’t you think that Bushy McSame is a regular guy, wanting the bikers at Sturgis to watch his wife do a banana?

I’ll bet Palin will get a real kick out of her running mate’s sense of humor.

    16. Master of None Says:
      August 29th, 2008 at 12:30 pm

More accomplishments of our next VP

“TransCanada Corp., the nation’s largest pipeline company, won approval from Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to build a $27 billion pipeline to carry natural gas from the Arctic to U.S. markets.

Alaskan authorities plan to develop gas deposits on Alaska’s North Slope that were discovered decades ago and left untouched by the inability to get the fuel to users. Palin solicited pipeline proposals last year and chose TransCanada’s proposal after rival plans by BP Plc and ConocoPhillips didn’t meet the state’s requirements.

      Solving America’s energy problems!!!

    17. Master of None Says:
      August 29th, 2008 at 12:34 pm

      Asshole,

I hate cops that admit to tasering their children.

      Don’t you?

    18. Average Joe Says:
      August 29th, 2008 at 12:36 pm

Biden is clearly ready; Palin clearly is not.

Palin’s more qualified than Barack Hussein Carterbama. It’s not even close.

I hope they try to talk experience. This isn’t going to be a comparison between her and Biden, it’s going to be between her and Carterbama. It’s a given that McCain’s more experienced. But when the second on the ticket is vastly more experienced than the top of the Democrat ticket, I dare them to start talking experience.

    19. Gr8rMn Says:
      August 29th, 2008 at 12:36 pm

Oh Hiram – With Palin on the ticket and the out reach to the 18 million who voted for HillaryBilly she is an extremely viable running mate who will make No Bama look even worse, let alone Joey B. Hmmmm, let’s see, what Chicago thugs can try to poison this choice with their thuggy antics? No Bama is well trained and versed in “thugology” of the church of Jerimiah Wrong and a bunch of other liberal socialist kooks.

      Michael,

It’s time for this pathetic, dirty-minded, dirty-mouthed, non-contributing, paid Al Franken blogger to be banned.

This quote is disgusting. It’s beneath civilized discussion and, in fact, wouldn’t be tolerated by even most liberal blog sites.

Tommy has shown he’s not able to be a grown up and continues to flirt with the edge of appropriateness. He’s been warned time and again and continues to push the envelope.

8 years of a misAdministration that doesn’t believe in science, and Bushy McSame and Sarah McCrook wants 4 more or the same.

Just how whacko is this RightWingExtremist, Palin? Bachmann-style crazy?

    22. Tommy Johnson Says:

It is interesting to watch BHO talk about how Washington is broken and we need change. So he picks a VP that has been there forever. McCain says Washington is broken and he is a maverick for reform. He puts his money where his mouth is and picks a talented outsider who has a reputation of standing up to the status quo and executing reform.

    28. PlymouthDem Says:

They really should have a filter on the website so you can turn off posts from the likes of Tommy, Swifte, etc.

Tommy’s wrong. Dems won’t be able to do much to pin Palin with ethics problems. And, the logical flaw in his Miss Buffalo chip argument is ridiculous.

Now, I still think Palin is a negative for the GOP. She adds significant value in her life story and being a woman. But, she significantly hurts McCain’s argument against Obama on experience. Her connection to Big Oil is also going to hurt McCain. Like it or not, Big Oil is hated by a large chunk of Americans these days.

I think she also hurts Coleman. Her key credential is fighting Alaskan political corruption. SHE HAS to talk about that over and over on the stump. All of that points back to Coleman or at least keeps the story in the news cycle.

T-Paw, Lieberman, and Mitt would have been worse. So, perhaps she’s the best of a bad crop. They needed a woman with experience to pull this election off. They got a woman, but, one that lacks experience.

That said, this does set her up to be a challenger to Obama four years from now.

    29. Tommy Johnson Says:

” And, the logical flaw in his Miss Buffalo chip argument is ridiculous.”

      What flaw?

republiCons rip franken for a joke that never made TV, but give McCain a pass for a joke about his wife becoming “Miss Buffalo Chip” that DID make YouTube.

Clear case of republiCon hypocrisy to me.

“republiCons rip franken for a joke that never made TV, but give McCain a pass for a joke about his wife becoming “Miss Buffalo Chip” that DID make YouTube.”

Completely different races, and, saying she would be in the contest does not mean she would do a banana.

It’s a dumb argument. Democrats can win on the issues, they don’t need to win on “OMG OMG OMG he just joked about his wife stripping OMG OMG OMG.”

MON, do what I do, just don’t read his posts. I stopped weeks ago and it works great. Nothing is gained arguing with the brainless. Don’t sink to his level. He just drags the whole blog down.

      ===============

Palin is a surprise, but a cursory investigation into her background confirms McCain’s excellent decision.

From everything I’ve seen, Governor Palin is sincere, down-to-earth, smart, tough, and most importantly, a committed conservative.

I could almost feel the enthusiasm coming from the radio as I listened to her excellent speech!

IMHO, McCain’s chances of adding a White House address to his residences has just increased beyond anything that Nobama could dream of.

      I’m stoked!

    35. Leroy Jenkins Says:

Do republicans really think that democratic women are this stupid?

To believe for a moment that a shared set of X chromosomes will allow them to overlook the threat that McCain poses to the environment, the global balance of peace, reproductive freedom and the economy, well, that is, at its least, shortsighted, and at its worst, terribly demeaning to the women they intend to court.

Any woman who does not see through this charade and recognize the aging politician with a trophy wife on one arm, and now a trophy running mate on the other, well, they deserve the country they would get under John McCain.

McCain joked about entering his wife into a vulgar contest where they have “contestants” do things with bananas that can’t be discussed in decent company. If the hypocritical republiCons hadn’t make Franken’s joke an issue, McCain’s joke wouldn’t be an issue.

They did; it is. John McCain joked about entering his wife into the “Miss Buffalo Chip” contest where the women do, among other things, bananas.

How exactly do the Dems think woman can’t lead? Hillary was almost the nominee. She didn’t miss out because people didn’t think a woman can lead. And, she didn’t not become VP because people didn’t think she could not lead either. Obama thought other issues would cloud the campaign.

She has the education of a gnat (BA from U of Idaho in communications-journalism) and no relevant experience. Explain to me how Kay Bailey Hutchinson was overlooked for Sarah Palin! How about Colin Powell? How about Condi Rice, even? How about Tom Ridge? As a strong Dem I want to know that if the Dems loose that we can be comforted that reasonably competent people on the other side win. This is disheartening as an American.

Please, to say she wasn’t picked in part because she’s a female is absurd. McCain thought they could nab clinton voters with a woman. Neither one has any foreign policy experience, and both are relative newcomers to higher elected office…but that is where the similarities end.

While Palin was overseeing billion dollar budgets, and running the state of Alaska, Nobama was shuffling around missing votes on the Senate floor.

You should give a listen to Palin speak before you reach any broad conclusions, she’s more than a match for Biden rhetorically and doesn’t have a reputation for sticking her foot in her mouth, like Biden does.

      Plymouth Democrat:

Has the heat gotten to you today? Boy you seem to be getting crazier as the day goes along.

You try to use that Nancy Pelosi who is the third most powerful person in Washington is proof that Democrat women know what they’re doing. You are aware that she thinks she is the Pope because she has tried to totally rewrite catholic teachings. A lot of cardinals have been correcting her this week. This is the woman who thinks natural gas isn’t a fossil fuel.
This is the woman who can’t keep her votes together in the house so even though the Democrats are in the majority she won’t offer a clean up and down vote on drilling.

As for picking her over more qualified people I disagree. It has become obvious that a major issue the Mccain campaign is going to use is drilling. Picking Pallin gives him the perfect and most qualfied person to talk about drilling. The fact that the Democrats don’t want to drill let alone can seriously talk about drilling shows their lack of qualification. Obama thinking that if you impose a windfalls profit tax (something that Jimmy Carter tried by the way) will automatically increase supplies and lower prices isn’t true.

Furthermore Plymouth you seem to imply that we picked her because of her sex. Democrats are the people who quota delegates for sex, race, religion, etc. We just look for more qualfied people. Pallin is more qualfied than the entire Democrat field. Obama has repeatedly said several times if he’s attacked it’s because he’s black not because he might have the wrong position on Iraq, judges, taxes, etc.

You need to reread your history. The swift boat veterans in 2004 didn’t lie. Kerry did have according to his own spokesperson, “An unintentional self inflicted wound” which means that you don’t get the purple heart which Kerry used to get out of Vietnam, Kerry testified in front of Congress (illegally) and called everybody in Vietnam war criminals, and he wouldn’t disclose his war records. Where’s the lie. The fact that they are associated with blowing Kerry to a loss is why they’re hated for telling the truth! Oh now it’s amazing once again when you have a real war hero (like 92 and 96) the war service was nothing yet in 2004 it was everything.

I got interrupted by an important phonecall so I’ll have to finish my thoughts later.

Instead, he only got one part right, a woman. But, in doing so he killed any chance to make the best argument he had against Obama: experience, and shut the door on clinton voters by moving the ticket way to the right (you know it moved right with Dobson moves from refusing to vote for McCain to suddenly thrilled). Add to that the fact she’s in the back pocket of big oil and McCain’s ticket is in trouble.

Her conservative credentials are far more credible than those people. In that sense it’s better.

She has the reformer credentials which Mccain wanted. Again far deeper!

She has great credentials for more drilling (an issue important with Republicans) than Tim.

But you’re dancing around the issue that even though Hillary was far more qualfied than Obama she was rejected because she Bill Clinton’s wife, she didn’t want to try to get out of Iraq as fast as Obama, etc. Given that the Democrats are more shallow than what you claim the Republicans are.

As for Pelosi I was trying to go over a bunch of your posts in trying to do one. sorry for misreading the spirit of your comment. This is exactly why democrats are relieved. The base doesn’t save the GOP this time around — and the base was never going to vote for Obama. He needed the independents which until today he was WINNING. Now the ticket has shifted significantly right. That hurts the demographic he most needed.

“She has the reformer credentials which Mccain wanted. Again far deeper!”

Why? McCain is suppose to be the maverick, the reformer. This adds nothing to the ticket.

“She has great credentials for more drilling (an issue important with Republicans) than Tim.”

Why do you need credentials to be pro drilling? He needed someone who wasn’t connected with big oil to be for oil so it doesn’t look like her opinion is tainted. She isn’t especially gifted in being able to speak about drilling. She’s not an expert. She’s a sports reporter. If he wanted to add credibility to the drilling debate, he needed someone who you wouldn’t expect would be for drilling to convince the american people. As it stands, she will be pegged as in the pocket of big oil which is a negative to the electorate.

” But you’re dancing around the issue that even though Hillary was far more qualfied than Obama she was rejected because she Bill Clinton’s wife, she didn’t want to try to get out of Iraq as fast as Obama, etc. Given that the Democrats are more shallow than what you claim the Republicans are.”

I’m not dancing at all. I said the weakest point for Obama was experience. McCain was actually making headway with that argument. But, not anytime he says “Is Obama ready to lead?” everyone will ask “I don’t know, is SHE?” No one can claim that she has significantly more experience than Obama. Many can argue she has less. If you are 72 and battled cancer twice you’d better put someone up that people think can meet the qualification test. And, if your main attack is qualifications, you’d better make sure your VP pick won’t take the same hits your trying to deliver.

Democrats would have been VERY worried if he had picked a moderate woman with significantly more experience than Obama. This pick (and I think had he picked T-Paw) is a net positive for dems.

I’m not even sure what this argument is. But, at the end of the day, people expect both the VP and president to be ready on day one to take the commander in chief position. ESPECIALLY when your presidential candidate has as many miles on him as McCain does. If he argues experience now against Obama, it hurts his ticket because those arguments stick on his VP.

Except the number of self-identified republicans has shrunk incredibly since 2004 or 2006. The point is that the base can’t save the GOP because the base has significantly eroded and the moderates have peeled off to be independents who will be pushed away by a social conservative on the ticket.

“You talk about how Republicans need to have somebody who doesn’t speak for big oil. Sarah Pallin speaks for Americans”

I don’t think most American’s associate themselves with oil companies. So, I don’t think most Americans will think that she will be speaking for them if she is linked to oil.

“You comment that moderates and independents will now desert Mccain. Keep in mind in a country that is suppose to be bitterly divided Republicans, Democrats, and Independents all agree that there should be more drilling. Even in ANWR.”

You aren’t reading again. The break off will be because the republican ticket moved significantly more right. Drilling for oil is not a lot of people’s top issue (besides apparently you) and it CERTAINLY not their ONLY issue. Candidates typically run to the center during a general. McCain has moved quite right in order to save the base. The trade-off with moving the party right is that it peels off independents. I make the argument that he needed indepdnents far more than crazy right wingers who would have voted for him anywhere.

” The fact that she is a better speaker than Obama is the cherry on the top.”

No one (at least besides you) actually thinks her speaking is better than Obama. She’s not nearly as horrible as Bush, but, she’s not Obama. Even republicans admit he’s far better of a speaker than her.

“This pick shows just how unqualified Obama is to be President.”

WHAT? How does it do that? It certainly impedes McCain from making the inexperience argument. But, unless you are arguing that by nominating completely inexperienced highlights the fact that Obama is inexperienced, I don’t know what you are talking about.

The numbers have decreased, but not significantly. The latest polls show significant in self-identified Democrats, right now.

“The point is that the base can’t save the GOP because the base has significantly eroded and the moderates have peeled off to be independents who will be pushed away by a social conservative on the ticket.”

Too bad for you, that assertion isn’t supported by any of the data. Were it but that line if crap were true, we wouldn’t see McCain drawing nearly even and sometimes ahead of ObamaNothing.

” So, I don’t think most Americans will think that she will be speaking for them if she is linked to oil.”

The Big Oil line is bullshit on its face. However, your assertion ignores the fact that she’s taken on oil companies in Alaska. She’s not connected to them in any shape or form.

You’re pretty ignorant spouting this crap.

“The break off will be because the republican ticket moved significantly more right.”

Are you fucking kidding? The Democrat party has moved to the extreme LEFT. McCain is solid Center, no matter how much Democrats try to lie otherwise. The GOP ticket is center-Right in a center-Right country. The only thing Barak has going for him is that pretty bow that says “EEOC Candidate” on it.

“Drilling for oil is not a lot of people’s top issue”

Again, are you stupid, or just dishonest. Energy policy is THE TOP issue for most Americans right now. And 68 percent say DRILL NOW!!!

“Candidates typically run to the center during a general.”

True. Thus Barak Obama running as a communist during the primary, and now lying his way to the Center now.

There hasn’t been a poll since she was picked so there are no numbers. As with pulling even, the national polls show an 8 point lead for Obama but that’s not why McCain is in deep trouble. He’s tied or losing all of the battle ground states and he’s barely winning in traditional GOP states like Montana. Even ARIZONA is competitive. As it is now, this could be a significant electoral landslide.

      A) No one except republicans are thinking “oil oil oil.” Most americans are thinking about oil, but oniy in the context of how oil companies are screwing them. Can someone explain to me why gas is still $3.65+ a gallon when oil prices are almost 1/3 off their highs? Oil companies. Guess who’s going to release another round of record profits before election day? Oil companies.

      B) Both candidates are essentially the same — it’s just Obama sees drilling as a short term bridge as compared to a panacea.

Oh, so it IS clear that you haven’t listened to anything McCain has talked about, rather opting for just the mis-information spread by the DFL party. Thanks for clarifying.

I can read. Apparently you didn’t go to Real Clear Politics like I suggested. They have every state and average the polls for every state. They then average them and make a call on the states. In this average routine the states go by a vote right now 273 – 265 for Obama. Colorado is the key state!

COLORADO IS THE KEY STATE RIGHT NOW!!!

COLORADO IS THE KEY STATE RIGHT NOW!!!!

You can read that since you apparently don’t think I can read. Using this standard Mccain is winning Ohio, Florida, Indiana, North Carolina, and Virginia states which one of your poll links talks about.

You say I can’t read. Than why does this country consider itself to be conservative by a margin of 60 to 36%. You can read? By a margin of 3 to 2 people consider themselves to be conservative which is why liberals have to dress up policies which have failed in the past like the windfalls profit tax.

You point out a lot of polling data, but when me and Chestnut constantly point out that when polled for drilling for oiling the American people including Democrats want more drilling you pretend that doesn’t exist.

You keep claiming that the country is moving left. Yet question 3d of the battleground poll has been consistent. June 2002 59% said they were conservative. September 2003 59%. April 2004 61%. August 2008 60%. The polling data (and you love pointing out polling data to me) is consistent America considers itself to be conservative.

Plymouth so you think being opposed to gay marriage doesn’t help Republicans. In 2004 Ohio had a version of a constituional amendement that defines marriage as between a man and a woman (something that the Minnesota legistlature won’t allow a vote on). The amendment got a greater percentage of the vote than George Bush did. Some people think this amendment was one of the reasons why Bush won Ohio. California which is a liberal state voted on I believe the year 2000 a state law which their State Supreme Court decided to throw out passed with 59% of the vote.
People believe in the conservative issues that vote for Democrat candidates.

You point out that the Republicans are going to be losing 5-7 senate seats as a sign that the people don’t support those values. Of this projected loss 3 are seats where if the Republican incumbatant had run for reelection they would’ve won easily. A fourth seat is Alaska where I’ll admit the Republican party has screwed up by not kicking Stevens out. Not exactly an out right rejection. Especially since when the Republicans win Colorado, New Hampshire, and Louisiana the loss becomes a lot closer to zero than 5-7. A better sign of this is the House races where despite massive retirements by Republicans the projected loss on one web site right now is just 9 seats and that underestimates the impact of races which the Republicans will win that they aren’t curently projected to win.

Plymouth I’ve been following this campaign for months. Mccain after he got the nomination secured and started his effort to try to gain ground on Obama was telling people such as Sean Hannity that he was going to be getting lots of votes by talking about issues like global warming. The polls weren’t moving.

Mccain changed his focus to drilling, the Saddleback debate perform on moral issues, during the Democrat convention he had commercials on taxes needed not to be raised. The race tightened. In some polls he had a national lead just before the Democrat convention. Focusing on the conservative issues moved his numbers.

You say I’m delussional. I’m the rational person. You’re the delussional one since you can’t read the polling data that me and Chestnut keep giving you. Keep in mind Tommy Johnson who normally is willing to stick his neck out and make pointless arguments has deserted you on this.

President Mccain wins an electoral victory with around 285 electoral votes versus 253 for Obama at a minimum.

Senate races a maximum of a two seat loss.

And many in the McCain column are barely McCain including huge Republican strong holds like Montana, ND, Georgia, and Indiana.

“Ohio, Florida, Indiana, North Carolina, and Virginia”

Your scenario assumes McCain wins all of those states? So, if he wins every huge swing state it’ still comes down to a single state? That wouldn’t make me feel comfortable as McCain.

“You’re the person who is hallucinated. She didn’t spend a single second talking about creationism on her speech on Friday. She did talk about energy.”

      Walter,

She’ll be talking about creationism because people are going to ask her about it given her past support for teaching it in schools. Just like they are going to ask her about not knowing what the VP does.

“Bullshit. McCain has ALWAYS supported the broadest-range of solutions… drilling, alternative energy development, nuclear and clean coal.”

Are you that ill-informed Chestnut? McCain voted against OCS and ANWR drilling repeatedly before switching his stance last summer. Why the hell do you think he’s not beating Obama over the head on switching his stance on drilling? Perhaps because he did?

      Plymouth Democrat:

Thank you for proving my point you can’t read.
I said use the “no toss up” which awareds the state to the leader. Mccain is awarded Ohio because he’s ahead! Mccain is awarded Virginia because he’s ahead. In the criteria you’re pointing out is the lead is within the margin of error of the polls so they call it a toss.

You were claiming that Mccain was losing Ohio when he’s winning. You claimed that Mccain was barely ahead in Arizona when he had a double digit lead.

Once again when you’re commenting about I don’t know that poll I told you it WAS THE BATTLE GROUND POLL QUESTION 3D. THAT IS BATTLE GROUND POLL QUESTION 3D. Lets see if I can do this right. It is a bi-partisan poll by the way.

      http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/08/the_biggest_missing_story_in_p.html

I look forward to November when I’m going to be shown to be right. Keep in mind Obama if this was the Democrat year you think it was he would have huge leads in states like Ohio, Florida, etc. He’s losing now. This election will be close like 2004. In the end Mccain will pull it out.

Yes Mccain was opposed to drilling, but he has been changing his mind in part because he has seen the light. Mind you his opposition to drilling in ANWR is because he foolishly thinks it’s like drilling in the Grand Canyon because groups like the Sierra club. That’s why as Sarah educates the public the Sierra Club’s phony case will be exposed like never before. The fact that the public as a whole supports drilling in ANWR now is proof that case is crumpling. What is stopping it from changing is that the Democrats are so married to big environment they want to screw the American people.

      Oh Walter.

You are quoting commentary from American Thinker as being bipartisan — and relying on a poll conducted before either candidate even selected their VP? August 20th?

      Ha.

      Plymout Democrat:

Once again you proved that you can’t read.

This is a bi-partisan poll that has been done for YEARS! You seem to think that Obama giving his speech will magically change it. The next time this poll comes out you will have that 20% margin once again.

This question has been in the poll for years!

This question has had a consistent result that the margin of people who consider themselves to be conservative out number liberals by 20% over the years. That’s why Obama has to try to disguise his liberal agenda.

Of course we now know you can’t read little alone think.

      HA!!!!

      HA!!!!!!

Walter, I generally refrain from calling people dumn on this board but I’m finding it hard to do so with you.

I said you are relying on commentary from a political hack website. I get that you think the spin on the poll is bipartisan–especially considering your posts make clear you only watch Fox for your news. As I said above, there are two reasons this piece of polling data is dumb (as are those who support their arguments with it:

      (1) it has no connection to people’s presidential voting, if it did, the only thing it shows is that some 20-30% of people who say they are conservative are voting for OBAMA; and

      (2) The poll you rely on is from BEFORE either candidate has picked a VP. Who the hell cares if it has been asked for years or that it is asked by a democrat and republican strategist when you are relying on a dated poll.

    127. PlymouthDem Says:

      Typo… dumn being dumb.

    128. Walter Says:

      Plymouth Democrat:

You know it hurts being called a dummy by the dummy!

For starters as more polls came out the margin isn’t the eight percent you claim. CNN has the margin as just 1%. Oh my God according to you I’m not suppose to be using CNN for my news! Rassmussen has it just at 3%! Oh I forgot according to you I can’t use them since they’re not Fox News! You see I use other sources than Fox.

Now you claimed that this country is becoming more liberal. I was using a bi-partisian poll done by Democrat pollster Celinda Lake and Republican pollster Ed Goeas (I’m sorry I’ve been trying to use something that isn’t FOX news that must be why you’re trying to ignore it). What makes the battleground poll so unique is that they they have been asking the same questions in every poll including do you consider yourself to be very conservative, some what conservative, moderate, somewhat liberal, and very liberal. The margin has consistently been more than plus 20% in favor of conservative over liberal. The margin in August was 60% versus 36% even though the public isn’t happy with Bush Adminstration. The reason why you don’t want to care is you don’t want to admit that a poll which isn’t done by Fox News show that people consider themselves over serveral years to be conservative by a large margin. Your claim that the country is becoming more liberal is totally rebutted by this poll!

Because of this massive difference which even Democrats recognize they realize to win elections they have to try to disguise their message so they can get some of the people who consider themselves to be conservative to vote for the liberal. Obama is trying to do that! The Democrats in 2006 to win control of Congress did that.

I can try to type slower if it will help to
understand this point which you’re trying to ignore.
