Interesting choice. Proves once again that McCain's "maverick" credentials are that he is completely independent of mainstream America and completely in debt to Bush and the Republican Radicals.

Pallin has so many problems it is amazing. She uses her office to fire people for personal reasons. Now it comes out today that she apparently is forcing her pregnant teen daughter's boyfriend to marry her for political appearances sake. And then we find out that she tried to kill off her own baby. Disappeared medical records. Giving a speech and then taking a 16 hour flight while in labor, and then bypassing the Anchorage hospitals in order to go to one where she has connections.

Of course, these stories will disappear thanks to a press that gives McCain a pass on every misstep. (Why oh why does the press love him so much?)

D-day will be the VP Debate! I am sure this event will rank as one of the highest viewed political events in TV history. Iron Joe should pull out his play book from the Clarence Thomas Trial. He needs similar tactics and strategies to ensure victory. Please don’t be afraid Joe, challenge her by using your arrogance and experience and let’s see how Governor Palin does? By the way does anyone know who Hilary intended to pick as her running mate?

Well, let's compare the PRESIDENTIAL pick for the dims with the VICE PRESIDENTIAL pick for the R's.

Barry Obama; He's black. Er, actually 1/2 black.

Palin: MAYOR of a town. GOVENOR of a state. Female. Ran a business.

Barry Obama; He's black. Uh, 1/2 black

Yep. Obama beats her hands down.

And by the way, while liberal fascist pukes are rattling on about McCain's age... consider the fact that Joe Biden is only 6 years younger.

And while liberal fascist pukes are rattling on about America's oil exports growing since McCain has been in the Senate... consider the fact that Joe Biden has been in the Senate ... LONGER!

The "experience" line has been a bit overplayed, frankly. It didn't work for Clinton, so it's probably better that McCain has focused on what matters anyway -- judgment.

Barak Obama's judgment made him WRONG on the success of the surge.

Barak Obama's judgment made him WRONG for proposing that we invade Pakistan.

Barak Obama's judgment made him WRONG on the threat of Iranian nuclear development threats.

Barak Obama's judgment made him WRONG on energy policy.

Barak Obama's judgment made him WRONG to have a domestic terrorist among his closest friends and influencers.

Barak Obama's judgment made him WRONG on having race-baiting, anti-American "clergy" among his closest friends and influencers.

Barak Obama's judgment made him WRONG on challenging McCain to debates, and then chickening out when McCain took him up on it.

The focus shouldn't be on Obama's incredible lack of experience... not at this point anyway. The focus should be on his incredible lack of judgment.

While people question her experience here is a couple of things to think about. Palin's executive leadership gov. of Alaska, mayor of town vs. Obama's none
Palin's elected experience 8 years before Obama was even elected to the state legislature.
Don't give me the line of BS that she has no experience.

Yoni:

John Mccain's mother is still alive at 98 years old. A couple of months ago his doctor releases thousands of pages of medical records (thousands more than Bill Clinton ever disclosed). It's quite likely that Mccain has a long healthy life and can easily serve eight years unless is there an assassination attempt you know about that the sercet service doesn't know about.

Regarding Biden - Palin debate, remember, debates are about expectations. Everyone is going to expect Biden to clean, and if he doesn't he will have "lost" the debate. Watch how before every debate, the campaign teams try to lower expectations or before announcing fundraising. Biden is going to have a high hurdle and guess what never underestimate Palin.

I liked the Palin because I like non-DCers for Pres/Vice Pres, give me State Govs anyday, rather than people who work DC. Look at the past elections, Gov Carter, Gov Reagan, non-Gov Bush, Gov Clinton, Gov Bush. People like candidates with executive experience, and Palin has more than anyone else.

Like or dislike the past presidents I really don't care, having someone in the office who has run something is a feature I support. Obame should have picked the Gov of Kansas....

"There is now a good possibility that we will have a 40 something milf as president in less than four years!"

Quite an enlightened view. I'd rather have a 40 something "milf" as President than a 40 something EEOC poster-child in the oval office.

The Truth, its more like a squash in the buffalo chip contest. you obviously have spent that much time in south dakota.

McCain will not last 4 years and office, right now i bet his life expectancy is another 2.5-3.5 years, and that is being generous. There is now a good possibility that we will have a 40 something milf as president in less than four years!

not happy, but this was definitely the best pick he could have made. now he's got a chance and i now i won't leave the country if he wins.

XAN

You're a no weight supporting a light weight. Sarah Pallin is a heavy weight! Her speech is was far supperior. The fact that you pulled out a swear expression shows your lack of skills to judge a speech.

The problem you overlook is there is a document called the constitution (obviously you didn't think I heard of the Senate so it's obvious you don't know of the existence of this document). It spefically creates an executive branch, a legislative branch, and a judical branch. A problem we have today is that judges think they are legislators! And that if the legislative branch tries to override them they are ruled illegal. Take a look at the California Supreme Court where four judges thought they were supperior to millions of California people and than said the people of California couldn't get a chance to override the court first. The type of judges Obama support are like those four judges who are wrong. The three judges which Obama don't like are doing the job correctly!

So the fact that you don't understand the constitution let alone proper speech shows just how unqualified you are. It's too bad you get a vote to offset my vote come November.

By the way how far do you walk to work or are you unemployed?

You may not be aware of it, but greasy Joe is <a href="http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/08/28/democratic-conventions-third-night-marred-by-verbal-gaffes/" rel="nofollow">well aquainted</a> with the <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/08/23/politics/fromtheroad/entry4377062.shtml" rel="nofollow">taste of his shoes</a>.

You must not have had the pleasure of hearing Gov. Palin speak either, she is incredibly articulate and scary smart. She is more than a match for greasy Joe when it comes to debate.

In fact, watching greasy Joe battle it out with Porn-O-Rama Frankin for the "King of Democrat Bufoons" crown is going to be <i>highly</i> entertaining!

Walter,

Seriously dude your head is up your ass, I would bet thousands of dollars that if you compared Obama's speech last night to Palin's speech today, the vast majority think Obama did a better job. Now granted it's just an announcement speech, but based soley on that she has a long ways to go to match Obama. This point alone illustrates how out of touch you are Walter.

Next I'm glad you have heard of the US Senate. I know it is a small body and doesn't really compare to being mayor of a town of 8,500 or a state of 670,000 people, but thanks for the thought. As long as she hunts and eats Moose that's good enough for you I guess.

As for Obama's votes on the Justices, I say bravo. Just because you hold a law degree and are bright does not mean you are impartial and we have already seen what a right-wing nut Roberts is.

Your drilling argument falls flat though, because even if you drill new areas, it will do very little, if anything, to lower prices. Prices are set on the global market and in large part are dictated by OPEC. The only people who will profit are the oil companies and the residents of Alaska.

Of course she supports drilling since her residents get thousands of kick backs per year on it and I believe her husband worked for an oil company. Because of their significant natural resources and small population, it makes it very easy for Alaska to balance the budget. With all the corrupt jerks up there, she only had to do a minimal job for people to love her.

She seems like a fine person, but she's a lightweight and will do nothing to bring the old man across the finish line. I look forward to Biden totally blowing her away if they have a VP debate. I expect another Lloyd Benson moment :)

The spittle-flecked bitterness and outright hatred that the left is unleashing, not just here, but throughout the Sorosphere, informs us that they have already taken Governor Palin's measure and are quaking in their little moonbat boots.

McCain has found his perfect political partner, and the country is going to be so much the better for it.

If Obama can be Commander-In-Chief, so can Palin. The only difference is that while Obama was being a rockstar, Palin was getting things done. She has a great track record for two short years at Gov.

PD, go back to post #17, by a bootlicker by the name of Greg Lang. Here's what he posted:

<em>"Curiously in liberal/progressive Minnesota it was the democratic feminist caucus that pushed for the the Democratic endorsement of Angry Al Frankein with his “very short fuse” who thought that a Saturday Night Night live skit of Andy Rooney drugging and raping Leslie Stahl would be “funny”. Apparently our local feminist agreed. The silence is deafening by our local feminist on Angry Al Frankens “jokes” about rape. "</em>

Now, maybe you want to let crap like that go unanswered; I'm not gonna take that crap.

They want to talk about jokes that never made it out of the backstage writing session, let alone an actual rehearsal, let alone a TV camera, when Serial Adulterer John McCain joked about entering his wife into a stripper contest where one of the props is a banana, I say bring it on.

I think everyone should see the video of what McCain thinks is funny, the "Miss Buffalo Chip" contest that can be viewed on www.YouTube.com

And any bootlicker that can post a link to Franken's joke, feel free.

I can't wait until a reporter asks Palin what she thinks about McCain's joke.

Palin is a real reformer who took on her own party's corrupt establishment and won, defeating an incumbent governor, 80-20. She's also a mother who chose life for her Down Syndrome baby — we can probably guess where she'd fall on the Born-Alive act.

Obama avoids mentioning his view that <b>life does not begin until the 4th trimester</b>.

Xan:

I was on my High School speech. I'm quite fimialar with speeches. Sarah is far supperior to Obama. The fact that you don't want to admit is your problem.

Yes I've heard of the US Senate. You are aware that Obama promised that he will oppose the FISA, but changed his mind. You are aware that he offered to help John Mccain writing an ethics reform bill and walked away from it. You are aware that Obama voted against two great US Supreme Court Justices (Roberts and Alito) and than trashed a third (Clarence Thomas). His service in the Senate clearly demonstrates he will take the country in the wrong direction.

The reason why she supports drilling is it's because it's good for the country. You drive to a gas station in a car. You car operates on gasoline. You apparently have decided that you don't want to have gasoline available and to walk to work. Yes the citizens of Alaska benefit because the state wisely gives their oil revenues to the people. Too bad Minnesota doesn't have oil like Alaska.

 Plymouth Democrat:

Sure Mccain can make the argument. Just loke at the Georgia crisis where Russia invades Georgia and Obama urges restraint on both sides. That will be like Mexico invading the United States and Obama urging caution by the United States. The fact that he made that stupid statement shows just how unqualified Obama is for foreign policy.

You know my sister has a Harvard Law degreee so I know some Harvard Law Degree lawyers. Just having a law degree from Harvard doesn't make you qualified aka Al Franken. Abraham Lincoln was a book read lawyer and considered to be a great debater, lawyer, and politician. It's the ideas and Obama expresses wrong ideas while Pallin expresses the right ideas.

As for his Senate experience see what I wrote for Xan. The fact that he hasn't accomplished anything in his four year senate career shows how worthless those four years have been. Yes he was a state Senator, but he voted present on a bunch of bills to try to avoid taking tough positions.

Last night during his talk he was talking about how he was going to return money to the tax payers and cut worthless spending. Pallin has already done that!

Mccain a couple of months ago released thousands of pages of medical records and his mother is 98. It looks like he's going to have a long and healthy life so you're making up the question of lasting four years unless is there an assiassination attempt you know of that the Secret Service doesn't.

You're just desperate because both members of the Republican Party ticket are far more qualfied to be President than that person from Abraham Lincoln's state.

Sorry on the above it should say -
For the Dem's - It’s their Presidential Candidate.

Also,
Only bad thing is this may hurt Stevens chance for reelection (Not sure this is a such a bad thing)
Some are claiming this hurts Coleman because he once went on a fishing trip with Stevens.
Kind of a stretch for Al.
If Dems want to play the friend of a corrupt friend.
Al and air america has more problems (not to mention Obama and his Illinois Mob buddies)

"Two words, Dan Qayle."

On GOP - It's the VP (and at least she has some executive experience)

On the GOP - It's their Presidential Candidate.
(and he has zero executive experience, except serving on the board with a terrorist)

Walter,

"Obama’s biggest qualification is he gives a great speech. Guess what folks Sarah is a better speaker than Obama. And just to give you folks how great she had maybe one day to put together this speech. Obama gave a dud speech last night and he had weeks to prepare it."

I just heard Sarah speak and she sucked. Obama gave a great speech last night and although he might not agree with it's content, you must admit it was very good.

"Okay she has executive experience. Obama with the exception of being an excutive for a charity which is currently trying to keep records a secret has none! Pallin is more qualfied."

Actually Walter he serves in a place called the US Senate, ever heard of it? He also served in the state legislature.

"Pallin has a track record that shows she will cut spending and return tax payers their money. Obama only talks it."

No actually she let's the oil companies do whatever the hell they want, because residents each get checks for thousands from them every year. Talk about kick backs! Her husband had worked for an oil company, so with all that you think she will stand up to them? Ha ha!

Keep taking those red pills Walter!

Walter,

Explain to me this executive experience? Does anyone really think McCain can make the argument that Obama is not ready to be commander in chief, but his VP candidate, a 44 year old < 2 year governor of Alaska and former small town mayor with a journalism degree is? She's certainly not head and shoulders more qualified as a < 4 year senator, state legislator, community organizer, with a harvard law degree.

I'm not saying she's a bad pick, a bad person, or even a not qualified. I'm saying McCain's best argument against Obama was experience, and, he severely cut the legs off that argument with this pick. Perhaps the calculus is that she creates new arguments, but, experience is gone.

As for experience at the top of the ticket, the problem for McCain is that a lot of people think he won't last 4 years. People expect the VP to be capable to be taking the reins on day one as well. McCain can't say Palin is ready to take the presidency on day one and then claim Obama isn't.

Boy look at these critics of Sarah.

And this will make Democrats mad she knows far more about energy than any Democrat especially since she understands you have to drill. Obama doesn't know that.

And what party took the woman? Mccain picked her and there is at least one major policy disagrement with her. Obama didn't give any consideration to Hillary.

She is a far better pick than Tim is even though he has done a great job as governor.

And one more thing. This didn't become a circus unlike the Democrats. People didn't know until today who it was going to be and the Mccain campaign managed not to do it during the Democrat convention. The Obama campaign makes their offical announcement at three in the morning. If you want to use this as an example who will run the country better Mccain wins hands down.

First, she's not a Quayle. She's a fox.

Second, I await when she beats Tommy down with the butt of a rifle.

Third, she's a solid pick and one of the better ones around. I've been pulling for her for nearly a month and a half, and I'm glad that I was a part of REAL history.

Alaska voters are predominantly male but they elected a woman. With the oil industry booming there is a rape problem which she seems to be doing a good job of dealing with.

Contrary to feminist claims that "all men are rapists" most men abhor rape as seen in Alaska where they elected a woman as Governor. Curiously in liberal/progressive Minnesota it was the democratic feminist caucus that pushed for the the Democratic endorsement of Angry Al Frankein with his "very short fuse" who thought that a Saturday Night Night live skit of Andy Rooney drugging and raping Leslie Stahl would be "funny". Apparently our local feminist agreed. The silence is deafening by our local feminist on Angry Al Frankens "jokes" about rape.

The other issue is energy which I assume the Governor of Alaska understands well. Far better than Nancy Pelosi who was said that natural gas is not a fossil fuel. "Earth to Queen Nancy. Perhaps Queen Nancy is saying "let them use "alternative fuels" (eat cake).
talk about "clueless".

This selection should pick up 5% in the polls for McCain.

First, I have been pulling for Palin for over a week now. Experience? Even if I give you that she has limited experience as does Obama(depending on how you define it) you have two tickets.

1. Obama/Biden (Inexperienced ticket top and experienced ticket bottom.

2. McCain/Palin (Experienced ticket top and inexperienced bottom)

She has executive experience and he doesnt. Palin is more experienced than Obama. Biden He has run his Senate office and Palin has run a State. McCain made the right choice. And it will be proven.

"I don’t think anyone was “safe.” There are no safe options when you are losing. He had to be play it safe to have a chance. Especially after inroad's McCain has made through August.

"I think going with Biden is a sign Obama knew he was in trouble and is too afraid to be bold."

This was a wonderful choice. Perhaps with a McCain-Palin in the White House we'll finally open up Alaska's ANWAR to drilling to help our economy.

Geraldine who?
Hillary who?

Their "accomplishments" which are relegated in defeat, will only become footnotes in history when Vice President Palin becomes the first woman to serve at the head of the ticket and WIN!

<em>"I think this is a great pick because it balances the ticket. "</em>

Well, in extremes: a guy too old to serve, and a woman to inexperienced.

I'm looking forward to the Bushy McSame/Sarah McCrook ticket.

"This pick clearly demonstrates McCain is still a Maverick and makes decisions based on his years of experience, not what others view as safe."

I don't think anyone was "safe." There are no safe options when you are losing. He had to be bold to have a chance. Especially after Obama's speech last night.

I think going with Palin is a sign McCain knew he was in trouble and needed to shake it up.

I agree the experience issue going to be a problem. but unlike Obama and Biden she has put her time in office to good use. She fought the political machine of her own party to become governor. She cut government spending. If the Dem's pursue the state trooper issue, it will backfire.

Plus she has a much more compelling personal story than Barak Obama. Dreams of My Father, or Most Dangerous Catch, which would you choose?

This race is now about McCain, Palin, and Obama. Biden disappears into the background.

It's now a race between ACTION (McCain/Palin) and talk (Obama/what's-his-name)

forget the experience thing. she has more experience than bho and she is running as v.p., and her experience is running a government. she is a tax cutter, energy promoter of u.s. resources, soccer/hockey mom, pro-life, her husband, i hear, is a native american (eskimo), has spent more time in iraq than bho, she loves mooseburgers, is a lifelong nra member, and as a final kicker, played basketball--maybe she can challenge obama to a shoot-out.

and as the male chauvinist pig that i am, she is d-y-n-a-m-i-t-e for the tv cameras.

i have to hand it to mccain. it totally head-faked this so bho is now taken off-balance and did not have time to adjust his acceptance speech. not sure if mccain wins, but this certainly does not hurt.
