VIDEO OF PROTESTERS BLOCKING MY BUS TO THE CONVENTION

By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 2, 2008

This is video from my bus ride yesterday to the Xcel Energy Center. Protesters blocked the bus, but police removed them from the street.

Your hotel is three blocks from the convention.

Why are you taking a bus?

  2. Pete Says:
    September 2nd, 2008 at 4:44 PM

Security maybe? These protesters don’t have a problem attacking the policy do you honestly think they won’t attack the people attending the convention? Its the world the left is trying to create Leroy – does it make you proud?

  3. TRUM Says:
    September 2nd, 2008 at 4:46 PM

Did you not see what happened yesterday? It’s clearly for their own safety. Who knew angry liberals could be so violent?

  4. Leroy Jenkins Says:
    September 2nd, 2008 at 5:24 PM

I wandered the width and depth of St. Paul’s downtown yesterday and never once felt any tinge of concern for my safety.

  5. The Audacity of HYPE Says:
    September 2nd, 2008 at 6:12 PM

Leroy was safe because they like that you would equate running a DNA test on an infant to franken releasing his tax records.

  6. gobigred Says:
    September 2nd, 2008 at 7:24 PM

I am learning that Democrats are just pretty creepy…If this what it means to be one, count me out. ick

  7. TRUM Says:
    September 2nd, 2008 at 8:22 PM

We now know LeRoy lives in a cave. My wife starts her afternoon shift at the local paper around 4pm and she and her co-workers said it was extrmely scary going in to work.

On another note, Leroy can get bent.

  8. Leroy Jenkins Says:
    September 2nd, 2008 at 8:35 PM

If you are worried about rioters trying to destroy your convention, maybe you should think twice about trying to destroy the rioters’ country.

  9. Minneapolis Moderate Says:
    September 2nd, 2008 at 9:07 PM

    Leroy

If the rioters are on the right side of the law, whey are they – and not the police – trying to disguise themselves?

Some people collect coins; others collect stamps. Here’s a tip for you Leroy: if the group you belong to collects urine, something’s wrong.

  10. Right is RIGHT Says:
    September 2nd, 2008 at 10:46 PM

And here I thought it was all about peace… First Amendment is OK as long as some libs are trying to restrict the freedom of people you agree with LeRoy? Not only that, they defecate for weeks and distribute it in bags to throw at cops? I suppose you will find a way to defend that. Why can’t they just argue their points with words and not literal shit? Maybe because their words aren’t better?

  11. el presidente Says:

    “…MY BUS TO THE CONVETION”

It seems that “Convetion” does rhyme with bitchin’

Someone [on the bus] made the comment, “Can you honk really, really loud?”

Did she [really, really] expect the driver increase the volume of his bus horn?

It looked to me like one cop was smiling.

Especially, after a type of “Ring Around the Rosie ,”in front of the bus, in front of the Ramsey County/4th Judicial District, Court House.

However, if one looks up the meaning behind Ring Around the Rosie [death] it really isn’t such a school yard chant/game.

  12. surly Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 6:52 AM

“If you are worried about rioters trying to destroy your convention, maybe you should think twice about trying to destroy the rioters’ country.”

Leroy: proud defender of violent extortion.

  13. Kerosene Hat Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 7:35 AM

I’m not sure who appears more idiotic. The people on the street prancing in a circle in hopes of delaying a bus who’s only job is to make those on board feel important or the people on the bus yelling “zip ‘em”.

Somehow it feels as though advocating arrest for basically jaywalking might play in to the idea that Republicans are a bit fascist. The “protesters” shown, along with those that decided to use violence, also have a negative affect on the causes they advocate.

I guess conventions are like political stills. Refining the current political voices down to their purest form. That form looks to be idiotic and cultish on both sides.

  14. Tommy Johnson Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 9:06 AM

“Protesters blocked the bus, but police removed them from the street. “

I hope they got tossed into the slammer, too.

    (cheney)in’ JERKS.

And I hope the Judge makes ‘em do some community service.

  15. Mike Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 9:08 AM

Streets are for cars and walking a straight line across. I know jobless Democrats time is worthless. But those of us that make this country go value there time to much to put up with a cookie cutter protest with no real ideas. Saying war is bad is stupid. Telling me why this war is bad is something I can respect.

  16. Leroy Jenkins Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 9:28 AM

I agree that anyone caught breaking the law should be punished to the full extent of the law, but if you look at the bigger picture, there is a powerful message here.

The republican party has disenfranchised such a large segment of society that nearly 10,000 people came out on the first day of the convention to protest. And all but about 100 managed to do it legally. Again yesterday, another large group of people gathered and were denied their rights to make a citizens arrest on Michael and his ilk for their lack of national stewardship.

  17. gopgal Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 9:33 AM

That was a great line Minneapolis Moderate, I especially love the Judge who responded when asked by some detained anarchists for their belongings back that we confiscated, “who should we return the urine to?” Priceless…

  18. Stonewall Jackson Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 10:17 AM

I saw some of the protest on Sunday. One of the protesters, this one of the male persuasion, held a sign that said: “Make love, not war.” From the look of him, I doubt that he could do either.

  19. The Audacity of HYPE Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 11:55 AM

Leroy said “another large group of people gathered and were denied their rights to make a citizens arrest on Michael and his ilk for their lack of national stewardship”

Leroy has officially lost his frickin’ mind.

First he wants to run DNA tests on an infant purely for political reasons, now he wants to arrest people who have different political points of view.

  20. RamseyRep Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 12:17 PM

I wish Tommy was under the wheels of that bus.

  21. Stonewall Jackson Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 12:25 PM

Leroy’s comments, sad to say, are what passes for intelligent DFL discourse these days in left-wing circles.

  22. Tommy Johnson Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 2:12 PM

The only person gonna get tossed under the bus, is Palin when the true story of her insatiable appetite for government pork comes out.

She’s as dirty as they come – which explains why republiCons love her.

  23. Tommy Johnson Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 2:15 PM

    Say, Stonewall?

You got Scrotee, who posted a link to full frontal male nudity here on MDE; you got Chestnut who drops the f-bomb more than anyone else here on MDE, you got rePete, who if he couldn’t regurgitate talkin’ points wouldn’t have anything to post; etc etc etc – and you got the ‘nads to rip a DFLer over “intelligent discourse”??!?

Thank you for proving, once again:

    “Hypocrisy, thy party is GOP.”

  24. Troy Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 2:25 PM

    Leroy Jenkins said:

“The republican party has disenfranchised such a large segment of society”

Yeah, the whiny, infantile segment. Jeez.

    Tommy Johnson:

Try some of that “intelligent discourse” sometime and your criticism might have some teeth. Until then, not so much. :-/

  25. el presidente Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 3:17 PM

I think that Tommy Johnson’s post [#23] has merit.

  26. Tommy Johnson Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 3:44 PM

Troy, I’m not criticizing; I’m pointing out Stonewall’s hypocrisy.

If he’s gonna dish on LeRoy, dish on his side, too.

Otherwise, he’s just another hypocritical republiCon.

  27. Stonewall Jackson Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 3:57 PM

    Tommy,

Sad to say, your public school teachers never taught you to read.

Look at the masthead for this blog. It says (and I’ll say it slowly so you can keep up) that this blog is “Dedicated to a truthful discussion of the activities, statements, and tactics of Minnesota Democrats”.

Leroy is a “Minnesota Democrat” is he not.

Leroy had made “statements” on this blog has he not.

I’m commenting on the “statements” of a “Minnesota Democrat” am I not. That’s what I am doing here.

If you want to comment on statements and supposed hypocrisy of Minnesota Republicans, you could write them on your own blog.

Oh, that’s right, you have a blog.

    But nobody reads it.

    Oh well.

  28. Leroy Jenkins Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 4:12 PM

For the record, I am not a democrat. I disagree with republicans with greater frequency than democrats, but I am NOT a democrat. I have voted for plenty of common sense republicans, and personally believe that the party system is what will ultimately be this nation’s undoing.

    But that’s just me.

  29. Tommy Johnson Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 4:15 PM

In fewer and other words, Stonewall, you approve of Scrotee posting links to full frontal male nudity, Chestnut droppin’ the (cheney)bomb, and rePete actin’ like the short-busser he is.

  30. Pete Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 4:34 PM

Seems like Tommy boy is having another fit today. I’m guessing he probably forgot to take his meds again, or took too many. He never has anything intellegent to say – he just bashs the people who are discussing issues. He really seems to hate it when I turn around and use his tactics on him – except I’m not a rude little monkey like he is. Tommy you really do represent the DFL well – you and Leroy are the poster boys for the Minnesota DFL – “The Party of Hate and Whiners”. Now go find a real job so that you can support your family without taxpayer funded assistance.

  31. Tommy Johnson Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 4:48 PM

Go with that, rePete – that makes reality easier for you to ignore.

  32. Pete Says:
    September 3rd, 2008 at 9:49 PM

Tommy, if you are reality then yes I want to ignore it. Thank God you are just a retarded idiot who just wants to be somebody important but has been a total failure at it. Its been nice talking to you but I really do feel that you should consider seeing a professional (besides your mom). Good night!
