In response to Norm’s slipping numbers, y’all just threw the kitchen sink at Al, and it landed with a dull thud.

Voters are thirsty for a focus on the issues, but the idea that Franken pulled anywhere is hilarious. Franken is still stuck in the same 37-38 percent support today that he had 4 months ago. He hasn’t pulled ahead. Barkley pulled Coleman down.

That’s all there is to it.

That said, the “old scandals” have probably run their course. I don’t know that another “Franken is a tax cheat” ad is going to help Coleman any.

No, no, this needs to be brought up again and again. Since Al has no political record of action to which his character can be judged, issues such as this are indispensable. He was, at the very least, a top employee/figurehead of a company that bilked moneys from the most needy, he did nothing about it other than accept MORE money from said company.

This is a character issue, big time. Did he have a hand in it? Probably not but his lack of concern speaks volumes. Just like his tax issues. Maybe he didnâ€™t cook the books himself but he sure found a lot of people to blame when he is the CFO.

Oh and please Hiram, bring up the issues! I love all of Alâ€™s socialist ideas that will solve all our problems. Letâ€™s hear them. You may be further ahead letting everyone think he is nothing more than a foulmouthed, money grabbing tax dodge.

There really is no reason NOT to go over the DFL endorsed Senate candidates extensive list of scandals. It gives Minnesota voters something to think about before the election, and not only about Al Franken himself, but more generally how the DFL chooses candidates to endorse for elected office.

This is fascinating to me. MDE and the Republicans through everything but the kitchen sink at Al Franken, and undeniably had an impact. In June. But now, the scandals, both the mild ones and made up ones are old news, and voters are once again doing what Democrats want them to do, focus on the issues. And now tht they are doing that, Al amazingly enough, is pulling even in the polls. So what’s the Republican response? Now that their stock of scandals is running out? Why go back to the old, if somewhat silly and discredited pseudo-scandals, and hope against hope that voters can be fooled for one last time.

Norm Coleman offered to sell the United States to Al Queda for $13.50 and a half of a ham sandwich back in 2007. That was after they rejected his earlier request for $24. He also had talks with Cuba to surrender everything south of the Mason Dixon line, as he was going to try and sell the northern half of the country to Canada or Alaska (this was all pre-Palin, when Norm still thought Alaska was a country).

… and what he did do was sign a legal document pertaining to repaying the swindled money from the charity for kids, demonstrating that he in fact KNEW about the arrangement, though he LIED about it for years.

… and of course, it’s unclear whether or not the Al helped repay the charity it’s money like the document he signed said would happen.

It’s what he didn’t do & what he did. What he did was he negotiated a 75% raise with Air America when he knew they weren’t paying some of their hosts.

What he didn’t do was give a second thought to finding out why Air America had borrowed money from a Boys & Girls Club.

What he didn’t do was demand that Piquant repay the alleged loan from the Boys & Girls Club.

What he didn’t do was think about others first. Instead, Mr. Franken just worried about himself.

That isn’t the mindset of a public servant. That’s the mindset of someone looking out only for himself.
