Here is a photo of the location where McCain and Palin spoke in Minnesota today.

I took this photo 1 and 1/2 hours before the speech was schedule to begin.

At this point, the line of people going through the dozen metal detectors was 1 mile long - stretching all the way back to the entrance gate. Everyone had smiles on their faces. Beautiful crisp Minnesota day.

All the talk from the corporate apologists will not change the feelings of the American people that the reality is people are losing their jobs, homes and now investments at an alarming rate.

Pointing to cycles and trends will satisfy the report of some economic student but, it does not win political points.

I'll tell you what rolls in cycles, American voters that lean left of center and right of center. This, my friends, is a left of center year.

Keep spinning, you'll soon tucker yourselves out.

BC, this economy is just a bump, all be it a fairly good sized one.

Maybe you're not old enough to have lived through the Carter years. THAT was a bad economy and we still recovered. Thanks Ron!

Almost all our current economic problems can be traced directly to Government policy. Yet the Dems want more government to solve the problems that government caused.

Kind of like the Three Stooges with the sinking boat. Curly drilled holes in the hull to let the water drain out. Same logic.

Leroy, So Al associates with criminals that have no problem stealing from children? He doesn't investigate people he is going into business with? He just takes their word for everything without question? Yup, guess he is the perfect Democrat - just march in lockstep with the criminals that lead the party.

Swiftee-

I have never denied that he signed A document in association with the sale of the station. What I do question is if he had any knowledge of the Gloria Wise matter.

The people who were convicted of the swindle said he didn't. The people who were able to buy the station as a result of his signing the paper said he didn't.

So far, the only three people who say that he signed a document that contained the Gloria Wise information are you, Michael and Chestnut.

Pardon me if I am a bit skeptical of you three having more first hand knowledge of the situation than ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO WERE IN THE ROOM WHEN IT WAS SIGNED.

economy is riding a rough patch, just as it does every 5-7 years. unemployment is up slightly, inflation is up, but will decline now that oil and commodity prices have tanked, and contrary to bc's assertion that consumer confidence is down, i suggest he go to the michigan consumer confidence index (which is the one generally relied on) and maybe you will change your mind--see http://www.dailyfx.com/story/market_alerts/fundamental_alert/U_of_Michigan_Consumer_Confidence_1221230985047.html

consumer confidence has improved for three months in a row.

You republicans are idiots or on drugs. In what way is the economy on sound footing? Unemployment up, foreclosures up, credit is tight, inflation is up, consumer confidence down, the deficit is up. The fundamentals all suck!

Leroy, either you're lying again, or you are a complete idiot.

The legal documents that PornORama signed are not in dispute. Even PornORama admits he signed them.

He just wants you to believe that he is so incredibly stupid that he willingly put his signature onto a stack of legal documents without reading a word of them.

Come to think of it, you are both faced with the same dilemma...liar, or idiot. P-O-R chose idiot, and he's sticking with that...what are you Leroy... serial liar or hopeless idiot?

Golly gee, Swiftee, you MUST have the facts wrong. Oboma said this is the worst hit on Wall Street since the great depression.

Whoops, Oboma pulling stats out of his ass again!

Sorta like his tax breaks for the lowest paid 150m Americans. BLS puts the number of ALL working Americans at about 136m.

Funny. I lie about Mccain's economy statement from yesterday, and the post is yanked.

Chestnut lies about documents Franken never signed, and despite frequnt unfulfilled requests for documentation, the posts are allowed to stand.

Is this the new ethical standard of this site? Only republican lies are acceptable?

So much for Norm's truth squad.

The economy is fundamentally strong. No one is denying that we are struggling a bit, and no one should deny that the fall of Wall Street giants is news to celebrate; however.....

The economy is still growing. The market is huge, and even the toppling of several very large firms has only resulted in the loss of 7% of the markets value.

Some perspective: On Oct. 19th, 1987, the market lost 508 points...that was fully 24% of the market's value.

Did anyone spend 1988 living in the forest, squatting over a fire in a loincloth?

Of course not.

So let the Democrats hang themselves with their own gloom and doom, woe is me babbling.

It is the Republican party that has the energy and the expertise to bring the American public to the realization that what they are reading in the lefty newspapers is nothing more than an extension of the "we've already lost" mentality thta the Democrat party has been touting for years.

It is the Republican party that will rally the American public to bounce back from these troubling, but not world shattering difficulties.

Big difference. We don't really expect you to tell the truth though.

The funny thing is, I went out to find an equally slanted source to throw back at you and prove a point.

I Googled "Mccain economic plan bad" and rather than find a whole slew of partisan blogs and DNC releases, I found just about every media outlet ever to cover politics, from the Wall Street Jounral to Newsweek to the Washington Times with articles about how misguided Mccain is about the current state of the economy.

NEWSFLASH Leroy, the economy grew 3.3% last quarter. Not exactly a recessionary movement.

I suppose you think 0bama's proposed tax plan is going to help the economy.

I'd rather have a candidate, weary from a nearly impossible campaign schedule, slip up on numbers and say 57 rather than 47, then have a guy who has said that he does not understand economics proclaim that the American economy is currently strong.

Leroy, you're silly.

0bama is not a smart, articulate person. Is 57 states the kind of smarts you're looking for? Is "uh, um, uh..ahhh, um..ya know, I've always said..um, uh..." the kind of articulation you're looking for?

He does have a vision though. It involves turning the USA into socialist shithole full of brownshirt community organizers living off government dollars.

Can you feel that HOPE and CHANGE?

Call me silly, but I long for the days when we demanded that smart, articulate people with a vision lead our country.

It's too bad that Obama doesn't fit either of those qualifications. We've seen him without his teleprompter. He sounds pathetic, not articulate.

We have spent eight years without that, and I will be damned if I am going to sit back and let a tottering old fool who proclaims from one of his 11 homes that the economy is sound to convince me that intelligence and vision are not things that we should demand from the leader of the free world.

Obama a true celebrity. Unfortunatly it will impress people like Leroy who have no grasp on reality. It is celebrity worship at its worst.

I wonder how many people Obama turned away last night at $28,500 per person? I wouldn't pay to see Streisand, but those people will be the only ones who can affort a Obama presidency.

He's really turning off middle America with his elitism.

Obama is doing so great with all the volunteers in this state that his support has been eroding in a major way.

c'mon, LJ, pull yer head out of yer ace.

I bet this rally has 10k or more.

Wow! While Obama is close to having to turn away volunteers in this state, McCain is giving away front row tickets to his speech in exchange for 20 minutes of volunteering?

I can't wait to see all 300 people try and cram into one airplane hangar in Blaine.
