« MN GOP PRESS RELEASE: “HOLD ON A SECOND, ASHWIN†#2 | Home | FRANKEN’S ATTACK AD ABOUT SOCIAL SECURITY LABELED “DISINGENUOUS” BY PROFESSOR »
VIVA LAS VEGAS!
By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 19, 2008

I’m in Las Vegas for the next few hours to accept the Blogger of the Year Award from the Conservative Leadership Conference. I’m receiving this award in large part because of the stories I broke about Al Franken’s failure to pay for workers’ compensation insurance for his corporation employees and his failure to pay taxes in 18 states (specifically, his business problems in California). I am truly humbled and honored to accept this award.
Let me be clear: there is much more to the story regarding Al Franken’s law breaking. Please stay tuned to Minnesota Democrats Exposed.

Congratulations! Mike, you have working the case on Angry Al for a couple of years at least.

Congrats MDE. That is a huge honor for you, and a great testimony to the work you do exposing people like Franken, Entenza and so many others.
So much of the information an electorate needs to make a fully informed decision would simply be burried if it wasn’t for your work.
I know you don’t do this for the rewards but you’ve certainly earned it.

How many of the bloggers competing for this award are paid huge sums of money to blog like you Michael? Are you really proud to accept this award while getting paid huge sums of money to do what most bloggers do for free? Kind of like professional athletes with high-paying sponsors competing against amateurs who get nothing, isn’t it?

Congrats! Great job.
Oh, and check into buying your own casino with the “huge sums of money” MinnyDem says you get paid.

Way to go Michael, you truly are one of a kind!

“How many of the bloggers competing for this award are paid huge sums of money to blog like you Michael?”
Why do you care? If he made small sums of money, would you approve better?
“Are you really proud to accept this award while getting paid huge sums of money to do what most bloggers do for free?”
What gives you the idea that most prominent bloggers do so for free? You think DailyKos is a free site? You think Wonkette was started for kicks?
What a stupid f’n statement. But then again, consider the orientation of the source.
Congrats to Michael for not only the recognition for excellence, but also for making a butt load of cash in the process!

Your humility is matched only by your accuracy.

Congratulations Michael, you certainly deserve this award. You almost single handedly have taken down a DFL Senate Candidate. Franken has no chance now that you have exposed his failure to pay taxes and workers comp.
Strangely I find my self agreeing with MinnyDem. You are a pro and the DFL Bloggers are a bunch of amateurs, it is not a fair competition!

MinnyDem is probably the kind of parent that makes her kid feel real special when s/he gets a trophy after a soccer match where every kid gets the same trophy because they didn’t keep score.

Envy is unbecoming MinnyDem, but it is certainly predictable from your kind. One of the primary characteristics of the Left.

Put $10 on red, Michael.

@MinnyDem
I’ll be the person presenting the award today at CLC, and I for one am honored to be presenting it. As a Capitalist and free-market junkie, I say he couldn’t be paid enough for doing this stuff.
We should celebrate anytime funding is available to help bloggers spend more time digging around in far left corruption.
We need a LOT more of it!

Congratulations Michael…..

Congratulations Michael.
I think the 2nd best award you can receive is the one you will receive on your reporting of Frankin losing the election and moving back to NY or Hollywood.

Congratulations, Michael. You know, the three colors on a roulette wheel all represent Barack Obama to some degree. None of them represent John McCain at all.

The problem isn’t Brodkorb getting paid to blog. The problem is, he LIES about it. In fact, all of his supporters here–including Eric Odor–have unanimously admitted what Brodkorb refuses to do–that he gets paid to blog. Paid by politicians and political parties–not advertising–but the people he’s pretending to support on his own time and dime on his “personal” blog. So thanks, gang, for outing your hero for the liar that he is.

MinnyDem: I know you want to rain on my parade, but Minnesota Democrats Exposed is my personal blog. I am not now, nor have I ever been paid to blog (except Google ad revenue) on Minnesota Democrats Exposed.

Great job Michael! And remember, those with only pride in their hearts will not recognize humility when they see it.

Jackasses like MinnyDem won’t let the facts get in the way of their hate.

As much as I disagree with you on everything, I have to say congrats. Way to bring a level of investigative journalism to the blogging world that the traditional media lacks. Well done.

I’m always curious about those who say that they “know” that Michael gets paid — and huge sums, at that — to blog. He’s been, repeatedly and explicitly, clear that he doesn’t get paid to blog at MDE. Which means that either:
a: you have reason to believe that he’s lying, and that he does get paid to blog on MDE;
b: you have reason to believe that he’s being incomplete; that while he doesn’t get paid to blog on MDE, he’s getting paid to blog (and “huge sums of money” at that, rather than, say, small sums of something else) elsewhere;
c: you’re simply throwing mud and hoping it’ll stick, because you disagree with his politics and resent his success.
Which is it?
Michael: congratulations on the award. Whether or not one agrees with your politics, your investigate reporting on Franken is, well, exemplary. It’s the sort of thing that reporters are supposed to do, and it should be embarrassing to the MSM types that both the Workers Comp and the failure to pay appropriate taxes stories were broken by a partisan blogger, rather than them.
