FROM THE PIONEER PRESS: FRANKEN “BLURRED THE LINES…” BY SUGGESTING “SNL” SKIT

By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 22, 2008

“Minnesota Democratic Senate challenger Al Franken has worked for more than a year to convince voters he’s serious about running for office — in contrast with his years writing jokes for and acting on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and, more recently, using occasionally expletive-laden invectives to tear down Republicans.

But last week, in a phone conversation with ‘SNL’ producer Lorne Michaels, he blurred the lines between the two roles by suggesting an idea that was turned into an anti-John McCain opening sketch for Saturday’s show.

During that call, Franken mused out loud about how Republican presidential candidate McCain can utter the standard campaign ad disclaimer — ‘I’m John McCain, and I approved this message’ — on misleading ads, Franken said Sunday. Later, a current ‘SNL’ writer called Franken to chat more about the idea.” Source: Pioneer Press, September 21, 2008

I almost kinda miss the days when every single post on MDE was about Pricilla Lord Faris.

Kind of looks like the Pioneer Press is agreeing that Franken was not just the generator of a vague nondescript concept that the left is bravely clinging to – but also the writer of the jokes.

Did he do this gratis? Somehow, based on Franken’s ethics and past misdeeds, I doubt it.

I bet you do, Aairhead. I bet you do.

It’s like a nightmare, isn’t it? Just keeps getting worse and worse, but you can’t wake up.

Don’t fret, your nightmare will be taking the 8:20 back home to NY on November 5th.

    Hey lefties like Aron:

How come Al Franken doesn’t think that Obama has the problem. After all:

    * Obama claims to be a reformer yet he refused to support the reform candidate in the cook county election that could’ve dramatically changed the Cook county machine and he walked away from John Mccain on ethics reform plus wrote Mccain a nasty letter when he left the country.

    * Obama cries wolf that ads are being run against him for being a celebrity when he has been running as a celebrity.

    * Obama claims he’s a knew type of politican. That’s why he uses insulting language on the campaign trail.

    * Obama claims he has no ethnic problems. That’s why his house was purchased under very unusal circumstances.

    * Obama makes fun of the fact that John Mccain can’t use the internet because of war injuries that John Mccain got serving the country.

I can go on, but the biggest problem is that Al Franken, Obama, and other democrats don’t know what the truth is so they attack the Republicans who are telling the truth.

I cannot wait for the debates—Al will be last in performance in every one. Can you imagine having to go on live TV and defend the stuff he has to defend. He should have debated Lord Faris. At least the issues would have been covered in front of a much smaller audience.

Everything is fair game for Al and his SNL buddies. They can trash, lie and make jokes about anyone they want. Just make sure you never say anything in retort because they will whine like the babies that they are.

How can anyone with a brain think Al Franken is good for Minnesota?
