ATTACK AD FROM MADIA ALLY ON PAULSEN CALLED “FALSE AND MISLEADING”; EARNS “D” RATING

By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 24, 2008

KSTP’s Truth Test has called an attack ad from Ashwin Madia’s allies at the DCCC “false and misleading…” The ad earned a “D” rating. Ashwin Madia one wrote that his campaign was based on a “positive and uplifting message…”  Madia can’t claim this anymore.

This is a reminder that I am a part-time research consultant to Erik Paulsen for Congress. Minnesota Democrats Exposed is my personal blog and it is not created, endorsed, sponsored, or authorized by any political party, candidate, or candidate’s committee.

Doncha hate it, when Democrats act like republiCons?

This is a reminder that Hubbard is a full-time contributor to Erik Paulsen for Congress. KSTP 5′s “Truth Test” is a show on Hubbard’s property and it is not created, endorsed, sponsored, or authorized by any political party, candidate, or candidate’s committee.

This is one of the most despicable ads I’ve seen. Madia should denounce it and the DCCC for doing it.

“This is one of the most despicable ads I’ve seen. Madia should denounce it and the DCCC for doing it.”

Really? An ad that claims he didn’t vote for the Vets GI bill and voted for a golf course is the most despicable ads you’ve ever seen? Have you even seen the ads in the senate or presidential races?

  5. TRUM Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 10:29 AM

Shut Up, Tommy. You’re a bigger fraud than Frank-con. Jerk off.

  6. CherylP Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 10:29 AM

I have to agree that KSTP should have a disclaimer that they are a fully supportive arm of the GOP. It was obvious they were in the bag for the GOP when they hired Cyndi Brucato….

  7. Leroy Jenkins Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 10:30 AM

I would say that VOTING for a golf course over veterans would be much more despicable thing than an ad reminding the voters that Eric Paulsen did just that.

You can’t have it both ways. Either you support despicable people for office, and weather the ads reminding you every few years how despicable the person is, or you support good people for office, and don’t have to suffer said fate.

  8. TRUM Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 10:31 AM

And Aaron, you’re just as bad. It’s a sad state of a affairs when morons such as yourselves defend phonies such as this guy. You two are pathetic.

  9. Tommy Johnson Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 10:37 AM

What’s really pathetic is Paulsen lacking the courage of his convictions.

It’s amazing how many of rightwingnut republiCons are abandoning their heritage, and running for the moderate middle.

I’m betting the electorate will see dipsticks like Paulsen as the frauds they are.

Well, except the bootlickers in the electorate – such as you, TRUM.

  10. TRUM Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 10:40 AM

There are people who change their thinking and then their are liars like Madia. Then again, it’s not a lie if you believe its true, right Tommy?

  11. PlymouthDem Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 10:45 AM

“It’s amazing how many of rightwingnut republiCons are abandoning their heritage, and running for the moderate middle.”

Well, let’s be fair to Paulsen, he will still VOTE for the conservative right when given the opportunity, he’s just going to avoid talking about those issues so he sounds more moderate.

Madia used that record to portray Paulsen as to the right of retiring Rep. Ramstad, who has a moderate record on social issues.

“I want a clear answer to the question on whether Erik voted to fund the teaching of intelligent design in public schools, and I’d also like to know the context of the amendment to our state’s constitution about gay marriage,” Madia said.

    And Dillon piled on.

“Erik has come out of the right wing of the Republican Party, and it’s part of why I’m not a Republican anymore,” Dillon said.

Paulsen has acknowledged he is more conservative than Ramstad, but he said social issues where never his top priority in the Legislature.

“I’ve been successful because I don’t focus on those types of issues,” said Paulsen. “I focus on what matters to people, but I’m not going to run away and not vote on how I might believe on an issue. I’m going to stand up and be counted and be principled. Maybe you’re hearing from the others that they won’t.”

  12. The Audacity of HYPE Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 10:49 AM

CherylP says that KSTP should have a disclaimer because she feels that because the owner of the company supports Republicans, that everyone who works there must be biased.

In that case I think that NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, NPR, CNN, and FOX 9 ANCHOR Alix Kendal should all have disclaimers as well.

  13. The Audacity of HYPE Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 10:50 AM

MSNBC is so in the tank for the left they don’t even need a disclaimer, it’s public knowledge.

  14. Tommy Johnson Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 10:57 AM

Ask Paulsen, TRUM. He’s the one that voted for Intellegent Design, but now claims he never did.

Paulsen really is a pathetic POS.

Then again, he always has been – it’s why his fellow travelers elected him Leader of the House republiCons.

  15. Master of None Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 11:12 AM

It’s funny how not one of the regular Ash-holes have been able to refute any of KSTP’s points.

The boy candidate can’t answer a debate question without hiding behind his old uniform, and can’t win an election without his DCCC parents stepping in to sleaze his opponent.

  16. CherylP Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 11:16 AM

So, MON…..do you think McCain should stop telling everyone that he is qualified to be president because he was a prisoner of war? It goes both ways.

  17. Master of None Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 11:22 AM

Are you really comparing Madia’s 6 months in the green zone to McCain’s record?

I don’t remember McCain explaining that he didn’t understand a word because he was in the Navy.

  18. PlymouthDem Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 11:31 AM

“I don’t remember McCain explaining that he didn’t understand a word because he was in the Navy.”

Umm.. wasn’t the theme of McCain’s acceptance speech about entirely about how he understands the phrase country first because of his experience in the military?

  19. PlymouthDem Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 11:35 AM

“The ad earned a “D” rating. Ashwin Madia one wrote that his campaign was based on a “positive and uplifting message…” Madia can’t claim this anymore.”

I’m sorry, did the ad actually come from Madia’s campaign? Oh wait, no, it didn’t. Whether or not the ad is accurate or not (I haven’t actually had the chance to watch the KSTP story) it has no connection to Madia and more than Coleman has a connection to the various ads being run against Franken.

  20. Master of None Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 11:42 AM

Still no refutation of KSTP’s points about the DCCC sleaze ad?

Now Madia’s got his union goon friends backing the Patriot Midwest Majority 527 to air even sleazier ads.

Brave brave Captain Responsible sure needs a lot of outside help.

  21. PlymouthDem Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 11:45 AM

“Brave brave Captain Responsible sure needs a lot of outside help.”

So, it’s your argument that if third parties are running ads for a candidate they are in trouble? Because if that’s the case Coleman is dead meat. Brilliant argument.

  22. Tommy Johnson Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 11:55 AM

    Well, for Jackof it is….

  23. CherylP Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 11:58 AM

Hard argument for the GOP to make with the Chamber of Commerce out there running slimey ads up and down ticket….

  24. Master of None Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 12:04 PM

In the 3rd CD? Keep spinning Ash-holes.

  25. Tommy Johnson Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 12:09 PM

CherylP, that’s not a difficult argument for Jackof to make at all.

He’s proven quite adept at regurgitating what he’s been fed.

  26. Swiftee Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 12:14 PM

“I’m sorry, did the ad actually come from Madia’s campaign? Oh wait, no, it didn’t.”

Read that again. Now aren’t you ashamed?

  27. Tommy Johnson Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 12:21 PM

Speakin’ of “ashamed”, you never did say why you thought it was appropriate to post a link to full-frontal male nudity here at MDE, Scrotee.

Before anyone responds to Cheeto boy, consider who and what he is.

An annoying, dumpy little man with a big mouth that you would deal with in public by using the back of your hand.

Ignoring this pathetic little twerp is the internet version of a bitch slap…I suggest using it liberally.

  29. loris Says:

Before anyone goes tearing down the credibility of KSTP’s journalists, perhaps they should have some actual facts on hand more than who their boss gives money to.

    Just a thought.

  30. Tommy Johnson Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 2:06 PM

loris, I don’t think anyone is alleging that GOPers gave KSTP journalists dough, like the GOP did to Armstrong Williams, or that the GOP set up a male prostitute at KSTP, like they did with Jeff Gannon and “Talon News.”

On the other hand, you never know – republiCons did use taxpayer dough to pay off Armstrong Williams, and Jeff Gannon may well have been the “mandate” Bush was talking about.

All in all, republiCons do so many scummy things, that nothing is out of the realm of possiblities with today’s GreedOverPrinciples party.

You speaking for yourself this time, boy?

  33. CherylP Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 2:32 PM

    loris,

Cyndi Brucato: From 1990-1996 she served as Deputy Chief of Staff, Director of Communications and Press Secretary for Minnesota Republican Governor Arne H. Carlson. She also served as Director of Communications for the Minnesota Department of Transportation and as Communications Director for Republican Norm Coleman.

She is the only staffer I referenced above.

  34. loris Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 3:14 PM

Well if partisan work disqualifies her, then it also disqualifies:
    Chris Matthews
    George Stephanopolous
    Diane Sawyer
    The late Tim Russert

And did she do the story? Did she dig up the facts? Did she do the reporting? No. She didn’t even anchor the story. In fact, the story was done by Tom Hauser, one of the most respected journalists in Minnesota. So if your assault on the jounralistic integrity of KSTP depends on what one of its anchors did more than a decade ago and a story she wasn’t even involved in, me doth thinks thy case is a bit flimsy.

  35. J.L. Says:

Go easy Loris, they hate the facts.

“Well if partisan work disqualifies her, then it also disqualifies:

    The late Tim Russert”

Good points. And while liberal dip shits like Lois focus on F.O.X. News, they neglect the rest of the alphabet. The following are ALL partisan, liberal outlets:

    NPR
    MPR
    ABC
    CBS
    NBC
    MSNBC

    And…

    The New York Times
    Washington Post
    Los Angeles Times
    Chicago Times
    Star Tribune
    Pioneer Press
    … … …

Hell, even the Wall Street Journal tilts Left in its news coverage.

  37. Chestnut Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 7:16 PM

Oh, and I forgot the wire services:

    UPI
    AP
    Rueters.

All are hell-bent liberal, partisan organizations. Shameless, partisan assholes.

  38. loris Says:
    September 24th, 2008 at 8:58 PM

And if you added up the political donations from employees of that alphabet soup, you know exactly where they would go.

  39. Left is RIGHT Says:
    September 25th, 2008 at 10:36 AM

Wow. A D seems like a pretty bad grade. I am just wondering. Is it possible for the KSTP Truth Test to give any grade lower than a D?

    Ohhhhh…

    never mind. :)

  40. Jordan Says:

I think it’s interesting that we can declare that all media outlets are liberal. Hilarious. The Washington Post? Wire Services? You liberal rat. This guys a fraud.
