When the chief campaigner found an opposing sign placed in an illicit manner, he would uproot it and leave it lying down where it was planted. This did not deny its rightful owner of possession of it, but sent a signal that placing signs on public property would not be fruitful.

Another thing this chief campaigner did was counter a particularly nefarious campaign tactic by the other side. They were in the habit of placing their signs on the property line between two residences, right before the election, leading both homeowners to assume that the other had authorized the sign and not leaving them much time to discuss it. The chief campaigner would knock on these doors or look them up in the street address phone book and ask if they had authorized the sign, and if neither had, if he could remove it. Then he would suggest they go out and vote for his candidate because the other side had placed signs on their property without permission. It was pretty effective, if time consuming.

Ole, I would ask the question, why would the campus Republicans want to quash the recruiting campaign by a particular fraternity? Covering the campus DFL signs, I can kind of understand, but why would the fine men of Tappa Haffa Keg or I Felta Thi or any other fraternity suspect the Republicans of targeting them. I tell you, few signs on the U of M campus lasted uncovered for very long. The worst offenders were the commercial services who just went out and staplegunned over anything, not caring whose posters they were.

I remember when the Young Republicans at the U of M deliberately placed their posters directly over all the Delta Lambda Phi rush signs across campus. They did not allow a single one of our signs to be posted. I was livid at the unfairness of the Republicans, especially on campus of all environments.”

* Are you saying that she has the right to take the sign?

* The lady said she was an attorney. That makes her an officer of the court and doesn’t give her the right to committ an illegal act to correct an illegal act.

* I’ve been given grief that Madia has apologized yet you didn’t mention that Madia has apologized. Is this confirmation that there has been no apology from Madia.

* Aron I noticed a slight description problem with your account. You describe the people who saw the woman as GOP and Paulsen employees. Yet you don’t admit that the woman when she was questioned said she was a volunteer for the Madia campaign (the campaign that benefits from the lawnsign being taken) and while you point out that Mike lifes in Eagan you don’t say that the woman is the spouse of a Madia employee.

So much for honest and accurate reporting.

Two seperate issues:

Number one:

On which post did I miss where you spefically say that the lady shouldn’t have taken the sign. To the best of my knowledge rereading all of your posts on this and I don’t see the magic words that she shouldn’t have taken the signs. You did mention “You” would call the police all the time if it was a Republican sign while you will only email the “DFL” when they have a misplaced sign.

Two, I’m sorry, but an apology has to mean something. The campaign worker and their spouse is still welecome in campaign headquarters unless you prove otherwise. The campaign worker still has a job! The campaign didn’t put this apology which you got on their website. If this apology is real it would be posted on their website to let the public know. If you go to the Media website it’s like they are pretending this didn’t happen.

Explain to me how it’s an apology if you’re trying to pretend that it didn’t happen!

Paulsen was the clear winner in both debates. Madia came off as a sniveling little punk, next to two adults.

This is such a non-issue that it doesn’t belong on anyone’s website. If you choose to believe it doesn’t exist, so be it.

And the facts are that even though Michael and whoever it was had a video camera going for over 2 minutes, they waited until later to call the cops.

These amatuer slueths SHOULD have called the cops as soon as they noticed her taking the signs – but no, they were more interested in creating controversy than doing the right thing.

This is just a pathetic example of how desperate Team Paulsen is.

There have been two debates, and while both Dillon and Madia claim victory, it’s clear Paulsen was used as wipe.

If Instant Runoff Voting were in effect on November 4th, Paulsen would finish 3rd.

The Washington Post moved the race up The Line, meaning that it thinks Paulsen’s chances of winning are decreasing:
