MINNPOST: “EMBARRASSMENT FOR ASHWIN MADIA’S CONGRESSIONAL CAMPAIGN”

By Michael Brodkorb | September 30, 2008

“Embarrassment for Ashwin Madia’s congressional campaign: A few days after a GOP operative was filmed taking opponent law signs from a public right of way, Fox9′s Tom Lyden discovers a Madia doorknocker who took a little girl’s scooter for a ride. Penny-ante stuff — do we really want campaigns doing criminal background checks for volunteers? — but it’s certainly bad synergy for the Third District DFLer.” Source: MinnPost, September 30, 2008

This is a reminder that I am a part-time research consultant to Erik Paulsen for Congress. Minnesota Democrats Exposed is my personal blog and it is not created, endorsed, sponsored, or authorized by any political party, candidate, or candidate’s committee.

This is your “party of change” folks. Thieves, cheats, disrespectful of people’s property.

Not exactly what they promise you in the flashy speeches, is it?

What does Erik Paulsen promise besides silence on the issues? Seriously.

Never heard of Jack Abramoff, have you, loris?

It’s kind of funny, watching the GreedOverPrinciples party arguing ethics….

    Hey Tommy:

Franklin Raines ring a bell. Democrat adviser to Obama who got like a hundred million from Fannie Mannie while running it into the ground and causing the mess we’re in today.

And what about Mr. Jefferson who is still a member of congress even though he took bribes and had over a hundred thousand dollars in his freezer.

Oh I guees you don’t care about real corruption.

    Walter,
I keep telling you to get your arse back to work. Its bad enough I have to use my tax dollars to rescue the Bush economy from total failure but, I’ll be damned if I’m going to pay you to keep blogging while on state time!

Raines was never an advisor to the Obama campaign. In his email below to Carly Fiorni states it himself. Carly was McCain chief mouthpiece until she couldn’t keep the lies straight:

    —Original Message—

    To: Carleton S. Fiornia (Carly)

Subject: Fw: IMPORTANT: Carly Fiorina/Obama campaign

Carly: Is this true? I am not an advisor to the Obama campaign.

    Subject: IMPORTANT: Carly Fiorina/Obama campaign

Frank, Carly Fiorina is, on behalf of the McCain campaign, criticizing Obama for having you as a housing advisor. The Obama campaign is saying that you are not advising it on housing policy. Will let you know what I hear.

    Fabiani.
    ———————————————–
Jefferson is not part of the Obama campaign at all and he still hasn’t been convicted of anything though the FBI raid was over two years ago.
    ———–
Now if you want to talk about real corruption and this crisis:
Top McCain Lobbyist-Adviser’s Husband, Kurt Pfotenhauer, Is Top Mortgage Industry Lobbyist

Nancy Pfotenhauer, a senior economic adviser to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), is the former top lobbyist for Koch Industries, the right-wing corporate polluter. Her current husband, Kurt Pfotenhauer, is the CEO and top lobbyist of the American Land Title Association, “the national trade association and voice of the abstract and title insurance industry.” Until this year, Kurt was the senior vice president and top lobbyist of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), “the national association representing the real estate finance industry.”

In 2008, according to lobbying disclosure documents, Pfotenhauer lobbied Congress and the Department of Housing and Urban Development on the following major bills on behalf of the American Land Title Association:

    * HR 2061, the Predatory Mortgage Lending Practices Reduction Act (killed)
    * HR 1427, the Federal Housing Finance Reform Act (killed)
    * HR 3221, the American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008 (passed)

Pfotenhauer also worked on bills by Sen. John Sununu (R-NH), and House Blue Dogs Melissa Bean (D-IL) and Paul Kanjorski (D-PA). He criticized a HUD proposal to reform RESPA regulation.

From 2005 through 2007, the Mortgage Banking Association spent $7.8 million lobbying Congress and a raft of federal agencies, with Pfotenhauer helming the shop.
    —-
Rick Davis, John McCain’s campaign manager, has remained the treasurer and a corporate director of his lobbying firm this year, despite repeated statements by campaign officials that he had ended his relationship with the firm in 2006, according to corporate records.

The McCain campaign this week criticized news stories disclosing that, since 2006, Davis’s firm has been paid a $15,000-a-month consulting fee from Freddie Mac, the troubled mortgage giant recently put under federal conservatorship.

Davis was also paid more than $30,000 a month for five years as president of an advocacy group set up by the mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to defend them against stricter regulations, current and former officials say.

    From Erik Paulsen’s website:

“Paulsen launches this bid after years of working in bipartisan fashion, across the aisle, to get
results in the business world and in the Minnesota legislature.
“Failed ideas and yearning for the past stand in the way of change. So do the politics of
blame, division and partisan spin. Minnesotans are weary of this brand of politics. We need
new vision, new energy and forward-thinking leaders who appreciate the necessity for
    change,” Paulsen continued.”

So, while Wall Street melts down, what does Team Paulsen engage in?

“…the politics of blame, division and partisan spin.”

And that is exactly why Paulsen is such a phony. He can’t run on his record so he’s taking the low road.

    I have an email, too:

I was just kidding in that last email. Of course, I’m an Obama worshiper, disciple and staff member. I just wanted to give you something to post on the nutbar web sites.

    Frank

See, anyone can make up emails.

Ziggy dog shit, tell that little lie of yours that Raines wasn’t an adviser to Obama to the Washington Post who published that fact back in July… after Raines told them that he was.

Nobody complained until the fact that Raines was an Obama adviser became inconvenient…

That happens to a lot of the most important people in Obama’s life. His spiritual father, Jeremiah Wright; the terrorist who launched his political career, William Ayers; etc.

Barak Obama, EEOC candidate doesn’t waste much time throwing anyone under the bus, much less the crook who made millions fucking us over by heading the Democrat’s den of thieves at Fannie Mae.

  12. Chestnut Says:
    September 30th, 2008 at 3:49 PM

    Here Ziggy dog shit:

The Obama Campaign Has Solicited Franklin Raines, Who “Stepped Down As Fannie Mae’s Chief Executive Under The Shadow Of A $6.3 Billion Accounting Scandal,” For “Advice On Mortgage And Housing Policy.” “In the four years since he stepped down as Fannie Mae’s chief executive under the shadow of a $6.3 billion accounting scandal, Franklin D. Raines has been quietly constructing a new life for himself. He has shaved eight points off his golf handicap, taken a corner office in Steve Case’s D.C. conglomeration of finance, entertainment and health-care companies and more recently, taken calls from Barack Obama’s presidential campaign seeking his advice on mortgage and housing policy matters.” (Anita Huslin, “On The Outside Now, Watching Fannie Falter,” The Washington Post, 7/16/08)

The Washington Post: “Two Members Of Mr. Obama’s Political Circle, James A. Johnson And Franklin D. Raines, Are Former Chief Executives Of Fannie Mae.” (Editorial, “Tough Decision Coming,” The Washington Post, 8/28/08)

Yeah, you’re right Ziggy dog shit. None of the crooks associated with the Democrats theft-center (aka Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) work as Obama’s advisers. You go ahead and believe what the lying EEOC candidate’s campaign has to say.

    You dumb shit.

  13. Jim Says:

So what? My sadly misguided nephew with one DUI and one shoplifiting conviction has dropped literature for Paulsen. One of my old friends at Grace Church in Eden Prairie has a theft conviction (almost 10 years old) and another served time (20 years ago)in St. Cloud for sale of controlled substance. Both are phoning and lit dropping for the ultra-conservative Paulsen. Good guys, both of them, but supporting Paulsen for reasons still not clear to me. Madia (almost a Republican) is a much more thoughtful and honest candidate but all they see is Paulsen is anti-choice as if that is the only issue.
