POLITICO: POLITICAL SCIENCE PROFESSOR AGREES THAT STAR TRIBUNE POLL OVERSAMPLED DEMOCRATS

By Michael B. Brodkorb | October 5, 2008

“A portion of the Minnesota poll released yesterday showed a 13-point jump in support for Democratic comedian-turned-politician Al Franken, who’s now taken his first clear lead, 43 percent to 34 percent, against Coleman.

Steven Schier, a political science professor at Carleton College in Minnesota, agreed that the poll seemed to oversample Minnesota Democrats.

‘I can’t believe that’s real,’ Schier said, predicting that the race will likely end ‘within five points either way.’” Source: Politico, October 5, 2008

Yes, the Strib oversampled Democrats, but that doesn’t explain away Franken’s lead.

Panic is clearly setting in for Team Coleman. Now, at best, they’ve completely thrown away their 10 point lead in the KSTP poll and are trying to spin this as a dead heat.

Panic? That’s laughable. It’s actually reassuring to see such desperation by the liberal newspaper who is having to manufacture a fake poll to prop up the potty-mouthed, dirty-minded, porn-writing tax cheat. Even THEY know he’s losing and saw this as their last, desperate act to keep hope alive.

Star and Tribune had John Kerry up by 7 day before election. Remember the hand wringing the next day, there explanation was there was late trends they couldn’t or didn’t pick up. Star and Tribune had Buck Humphrey up by 10 day before governor’s election only to come in 3rd behind Ventura and Coleman. Their polling is not taken seriously by insiders in either party. It’s propaganda.

Total propoganda is all the the Red Star does know how to print. And they wonder why reradership continues to decline? And the networks wonder why their viewership continues to decline? Wake up liberal media!!!! Your “lock” on trends is now taken for what it is, nothing more than DFL spin. Poll results are very easily manipulated, strictly based upon what questions are asked, how they are phrased and the demographic being polled. Of course it is known that the Red Stars’ polls ONLY include Hennipen and Ramsey Counties, and the amnesty cities of St. Paul and Mpls. Who-o-o-m…maybe they only polled people in nusing homes where the polled person was “out of touch” and the DFL reader of the poll had to assume an answer. That makes sense.
