People do it so they can help MDE/Paulsen create stories to distract CD3 voters from the issues.

Another classy comment from my wannabe stalker, Aaron Landry. A dedicated reader of Minnesota Democrats Exposed sent me some of the comments Landry has posted about me on other blogs. This guy comes across like a potential stalker.

Totally classless. I’m referring to both the vandalism on signs, and the comment from the lefty on this thread.

As I commented over at Publius, I find it incredibly ironic that the Left considers themselves to be the party of free speech protection. But when you dare to disagree with their views, they are the first to infringe on the first amendment.

There are a few rational people over there at Publius. But for large part, when you present an opposing viewpoint, the vultures circle (even though you may be speaking for close to 50% of the electorate).

Michael seems to be getting a little hot under the collar. This is like the moment when the Emperor is shocking Young Skywalker and Darth all of a sudden picks him up. All dreams of world domination about to be destroyed.

  5. West Metro Dem Says:
    October 12th, 2008 at 7:27 PM

Boy, I hate to see this crap. Drives me nuts – on all sides. I am one Dem who totally supports freedom of speech. If you want a McCain/Palin, Paulsen, Coleman sign in your yard, that’s just fine with me. Just make sure you leave my Obama, Madia, Franken signs alone. Good grief!

At least they can still tape their signs together. I’ve gone through two Obama signs – never to be seen again.

    It’s so juvenile…..grrrr.

  6. Dr.Bob Says:
    October 12th, 2008 at 7:27 PM

They destroy the opposition’s signs because they think it is more important to win than to stand up for others’ constitutional right of freedom of speech.

In short, the ends justify the means.

Think what will happen if these morons end up running the government.

Obviously they have too much time off from their whopper flopper job. The ones that work, that is.

  10. Leroy Jenkins Says:

I have a nice trap in my yard to test the political attack -vs- bored teen vandalism theory on why signs are attacked. Two dems and one republican.

I intend to vote for all three. Am hoping if the signs are attacked, I will be able to deduce a reason.

  11. Wade Seeker Says:

The differnce between MDE any any libtard board, Att( Mark Peterson), is that at any libtard board they’d delete anything not in lock step with the libatard agenda.(see Daily KOS DUh underground, salon.bankrupt, arriana.inheritance.dumbass)

Here at MDE, MB lets everyone including libtard liars like yourself to show how limited your thinking has become since becoming a libtard.

Have faith MP you’re welfare check in only 2 weeks away!

  12. Mark Peterson Says:
    October 12th, 2008 at 8:51 PM

Looking forward to it Wade Seeker. Why do you hate America by the way?

  13. shozzy Says:
    October 12th, 2008 at 8:52 PM

Michael- my neighbor put up a Paulsen and McCain sign on Friday night- on Sat morning they woke up with TIRE TRACKS across their yard and the signs mangled. They drove over a sidewalk and into a yeard to knock down the signs

    This is nuts.

  14. Aaron Says:
    October 12th, 2008 at 8:53 PM

    Michael-

Considering you were on tape stalking Madia staffers in the Perkins down the their street, calling me a stalker is pretty funny.

Being I was commenting about you on other blogs as you mentioned, mind sharing those links so I can see what you are referencing? I bet we’d all find it pretty funny. I mean, in the name of transparency. It is a blog located on the publicly-available “Internet,” right?

You have a tenancy to call me things that you are. First “liar,” now “stalker.” It’s comedy gold, Brodkorb.

  15. Minneapolis Moderate Says:
    October 12th, 2008 at 8:53 PM

They do this because they cannot process words or names that are more than one syllable in length.

Now if you will excuse me, I must return to organizing my community and waiting for ACORN to register me to vote again and again and again…

  16. Leroy Jenkins Says:
    October 12th, 2008 at 9:53 PM

I have a hard time taking the party which has sucessfully elected a president twice now who has violently shredded the constitution seriously when they cry about their constitutional rights being infringed upon.

You can’t ignore the sixth and then claim you deserve the first.

  17. danbrome Says:
    October 12th, 2008 at 11:05 PM

I deplore the vandalism of personal property on both sides in every case.

Do the Paulsen supporters actually think this race will turn on the condition of the lawn signs?
I hope not, because the middle class families in the 3rd CD have much bigger fish to fry at the moment.

Has anybody heard when Erik plans to speak directly to the voters without his surrogates to babysit him? The voters deserve to hear directly from any candidate seeking a seat in the congress.

    What is Erik hiding?

This is exactly why I am voting Independence Party. They are civil and don’t resort to this kind of crap. Do you really think that this will stop once elected? It won’t. They will keep right on doing what they are doing. Nothing will get done until we start electing people that will carry themselves above all of this. I’m tired of all the negative and attack ads. They will contine on into Washington where they will seek out something about someone else and then stall things out. They just won’t stop. Do you want someone that will fight for you or do you want someone that will fight with the people across the aisle? Oh, and we all know that Paulsen won’t reach across the aisle. He didn’t do it when this state needed it. Remember July 2005? Majority Leader and he wouldn’t reach across the aisle? What a joke!

  19. Lassie Says:

When returning home from the first Prez debate, I witnessed a teen taking a neighbor’s McCain sign (rebar and all). We yelled and called the police and he ran off. 45 minutes later, the teen returned and stole signs in a 10 block areaa (all GOP). Once we figured where the teen lived, neighbors and I filed charges. It’s a gross misdemeanor – and he’ll have a record because of his chutzpah.

No signs have been lifted since — but in case someone tries, we’ve brushed pepper spray along the edges of our signs. :-)

  20. Sonny Hooper Says:
    October 13th, 2008 at 9:50 AM

People mess with yard signs for the same reason they post inflammatory comments to websites: they’re jerks.

  21. Marc Says:
    October 13th, 2008 at 9:51 AM

This is what happens when your feeble intellectual capacity can’t weave a coherent political argument – you get mad and try to prevent the opposition from even speaking. Classic socialist maneuvering.

  22. Stonewall Jackson Says:
    October 13th, 2008 at 11:36 AM

Bobby Kennedy explained this kind of behavior when he noted “Nobody hates like a liberal.”

  23. John in SW Mn Says:
    October 13th, 2008 at 11:40 AM

I always thought it ironic that the democratic party calls itself the tolerant party, yet when you look at it, they are the most intolerant party when you come to opposite views. Why is it that the majority of lawn signs and other GOP stuff is stolen or vandalized, yet it doesn’t go the other way?

  24. West Metro Dem Says:
    October 13th, 2008 at 12:24 PM

John…..keep repeating that fable but it’s not true. Many Dems have their lawn signs stolen, too. When it happens to Dems the GOP says it’s not true. Fortunately the police happened to catch kids stealing signs and they, too, have a misdemeanor on their records. Luckily they were caught red handed because their good GOP parents didn’t think they’d done anything wrong and actually tried to hide the car in the garage so the police wouldn’t find it. Again, luckily, one person whose signs were stolen repeatedly had a video camera up and they turned the tape over to the police. They had the car, video of the kids stealing the signs and the license plate on the car as it drove away.

Time to get over it. It’s not just the GOP who has things stolen. Now, whoever stole my last two Obama signs, please return them….I can offer as evidence the tire tracks up into my yard as evidence and holes for the poles plus two police reports….and that’s just this cycle.

  25. rainman Says:
    October 13th, 2008 at 1:47 PM

Stealing anyones signs is wrong…regardless of whose they are. How about some real issues…like the economy, Iraq, energy independence, small businesses and insurance…all issues that Madia talks to voters about daily, while we sit and wait, and wait, and wait for Waldo (I mean Erik) to say something meaningful…maybe it’s inside his coat pocket.

  26. Matthew Says:
    October 13th, 2008 at 2:49 PM

Another pointless post by MDE. Lawn signs get messed up every election cycle on both sides, it’s not news.

On occasion it may be partisan, but
mostly it’s just kids out looking for trouble.

Unless you are an unknown candidate, lawn signs are a giant waste of money to begin with!

  27. danbrome Says:
    October 13th, 2008 at 9:01 PM

    John in SW Mn:

“Why is it that the majority of lawn signs and other GOP stuff is stolen or vandalized, yet it doesn’t go the other way?”

    Your ignorance is astonishing.
