POLITICO: “LIEBERMAN DEFENDS COLEMAN FROM ATTACKS”
By Michael B. Brodkorb | October 14, 2008
“Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) Â may have donated $115,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, but he’s still out defending one of the most vulnerable Republican senators in an op-ed in Saturday’s St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Democrat Al Franken has accused Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) of not aggressively investigating war profiteering in his role – first as chairman, then as the ranking member – of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.” Source: Politico, October 14, 2008

This will be the important part for Tommy to read:
“To assert that Norm Coleman did anything less than a first-rate job on PSI demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of the subcommittee and ignores the substantial positive changes that his investigations have caused.”
Tommy’s made a short career out of demonstrating his fundamental misunderstanding of just about everything.

Lieberman left out something, which I’ve added and highlighted:
” Working in a bipartisan manner, he focused on three important national priorities: fixing weaknesses in America’s homeland security; rooting out fraud, waste and abuse in government spending (except in Iraq); and bolstering consumer protection. “
Because it doesn’t matter how it’s deflected, the Coleman-led the PSI and the PSI did NOT investigate war profiteering in Iraq.
The PSI, under Truman, investigated war profiteering. The PSI, under Coleman, did not.
And it doesn’t matter who that’s spun, no amount of spin changes the fact Coleman could have investigated war profiteering, but chose not to.

Hey Tommy, it doesn’t matter how it’s spun, but every Democrat on the committee could have investigated war profiteering, but chose not to.
… because it would have been a duplicative waste of time and resources.

In fact, since 2006, Carl Levine, the Democrat who leads PSI could have investigated war profiteering, but has chosen not to.
… because it would be a duplicative waste of time and resources.

Chestnut, Coleman’s on the ballot, NOT Levine.
October 14th, 2008 at 12:15 PM
Tommy,
Coleman didn’t waste time or resources on an issue already under considerable investigation by 26 other agencies with more authority and better resources.
Every Democrat on his committee before and after his tenure agree with him.
October 14th, 2008 at 12:44 PM
Chestnut – that’s complete BS, which is typical from you.
Coleman’s defense for not investigating is “somebody else could have.”
You bootlickers claim Norm deserves credit for investigating foreigners involved corruption in Iraq for the UN Oil For Food Scam, but then claim he doesn’t deserve blame for NOT investigating GOP donors who also happen to be corrupt war profiteers in Iraq??!?
Don’t act surprised at how badly you’re gonna get beat in 3 weeks, Chestnut – the majority of people simply don’t trust the GOP any more.

“Every Democrat on his committee before and after his tenure agree with him.”
More bullshit, from the biggest bullshitter on MDE.
October 14th, 2008 at 12:59 PM
There’s no bullshit to anything I’ve written Tommy. You can’t say the same.
It is a FACT that any Democrat on that committee before, during or after Norm was chair could have, but did not investigate war profiteering.
It is a FACT that over 20 other agencies with more authority and better resources were already investigating those exact same charges.
It is a FACT that Norm’s actions were in full agreement with all other Democrats and Republicans on the committee. None of them chose to waste more time and resources on matters that were more than adequately being investigated.
You’re a dumb, dishonest asshole, Tommy.

“It is a FACT that any Democrat on that committee before, during or after Norm was chair could have, but did not investigate war profiteering. “
Bullshit, Chestnut.
“It is a FACT that over 20 other agencies with more authority and better resources were already investigating those exact same charges. “
Even if that were true, it’s still no excuse. You’d have to be a moron – which you are – to think that the Permanent Subcomittee on Investigations shouldn’t be investigating the biggest ripoff in history – at that time; you republiCons have recently reached new lows.
“It is a FACT that Norm’s actions were in full agreement with all other Democrats and Republicans on the committee.”
More bullshit, from the biggest bullshitter on MDE.
You’re a (cheney)in’ MORON, Chestnut.
You’re also the base, which explains why this election is going to be a landslide.

Tommy,
IT IS AN ABSOLUTE FACT that any Democrat on that committee before, during or after Norm was chair could have, but did not investigate war profiteering.
IT IS AN ABSOLUTE FACT that over 20 other agencies with more authority and better resources were already investigating those exact same charges.
AND IT IS AN ABSOLUTE FACT that Norm’s actions were in full agreement with all other Democrats and Republicans on the committee. None of them chose to waste more time and resources on matters that were more than adequately being investigated.
You can ignore those ABSOLUTE FACTS all you want. My guess is you do. Sorry they don’t fit your dishonest meme on the matter.

Tommy Johnson’s best argument:
“Bullshit”
Pretty predictable given his history, actually.
