WAS FRANKEN YANKED OFF HILLARY’S IRON RANGE EVENT?
By Michael B. Brodkorb | October 20, 2008
Last night, the Associated Press listed Al Franken as taking part in the Hillary Clinton event on the Iron Range:
Oct. 21. 6 p.m. HILLARY CLINTON — Sen. Hillary Clinton will campaign for Barack Obama and Democratic Senate candidate Al Franken.
Locations: Memorial Arena, 400 East 23 St., Hibbing.
Contact: Nick Kimball, [Phone number redacted]
(Source: Associated Press Daybook, Oct. 19)
Earlier today, the Associated Press sent out a corrected version of their Daybook with Franken’s name having been removed for the Obama event.
Oct. 21. 6 p.m. HILLARY CLINTON — Sen. Hillary Clinton will campaign for Barack Obama.
Locations: Memorial Arena, 400 East 23 St., Hibbing.
Contact: Nick Kimball, [Phone number redacted]

Looks like a mistake by AP. Franken was just going to be at the Minneapolis event.

Try as you may, there are no two ways to look at the polls. Al Franken has the lead and the momentum in this race, and no amount of prattling on about supposed slights will change this fact.

Had another important rally in St. Cloud. Didn’t want to disappoint the voter.

Maybe Hillary requested that Franken be removed from the event after remembering that Franken joked about her “spinning.”

They’re at the Minneapolis event, not the Hibbing event.

Actually I have the original email announcing the event and the Iron Range event was always for Obama and didn’t mention Franken. AP made a mistake.

Republican signs disappear. DFL signs stay. Hmmmmmmmmm…..Looks like the dems are a bit uneasy in No MN this year, and will stoop to anything to win [oh, that's nothing new]. Not the cake walk they were looking for. It will be interesting to see the “Bradley Effect” on the Iron Range. Looks like Al, Al quida Osama and the rest of the liberal gang just don’t know what to make of the changes in out state MN more conservative politics anymore. Not the “SOLID RANGE” as they once used to have. People are now thinking and seeing the DFL for what it is…a party of elitists, not middle America. The REPUBLICAN PARTY IS now THE party of the middle class.

So sad to bad – even his own party knows he is a lost cause.

Gr8rmn, you are aware that the latest polls show Obama with decisive leads in MN right?
Your spiteful post was a blast to read, hope you feel good on Nov 5th because I know I will,

Andrew, I doubt it. You will be crying your eyes out. October ain’t over yet. There are a few surprises coming in West Central MN too Andrew.

Al Franken was at the Hibbing rally but did not speak. The place was packed with Iron Rangers cheering loudly for Oberstar, Klobachar, Clinton, Obama and Franken. Lots of steelworkers, miners and other union members there to support the party that believes in the rights of workers to organize.
