PIONEER PRESS: “SIX MINNESOTA CONGRESS MEMBERS’ HOMES VANDALIZED”
By Michael Brodkorb | October 22, 2008
“The homes of six Minnesota members of Congress — Sens. Norm Coleman and Amy Klobuchar, Reps. John Kline, Jim Ramstad, Keith Ellison and Michele Bachmann– were hit with graffiti last night or early this morning.
The garage of Sen. Norm Coleman’s Crocus Hill home was marked with the black painted words: ‘U R A criminal,’ ‘Resign or else!’ and the word ‘Scum,’ written multiple times.
Similar messages were painted on Klobuchar’s Minneapolis home, Kline’s Lakeville home, Ramstad’s Minnetonka home, Ellison’s Minneapolis home and Bachmann’s Stillwater home.” Source: Pioneer Press, October 22, 2008

Well, this sorta rules out that there was a partisan political motive behind this one way or the other and probably just gets chalked up to whack job.
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:59 PM
Here’s what happened:
Tommy Johnson took off his tinfoil hat allowing the black helicopters to make him vandalize the lairs of those evil Republicans.
After returning home to his tinfoil hat, he realized what he had done and decided he should hit the Democrats houses as well, as to make it look like he doesn’t discriminate. Sounds about right, heh Tommy? BUSTED!
I’m just surprised you didn’t spray paint those cute little names where you twist letters to make them so hilariously funny. Like Dim Damstad. HAHAHA!
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:01 PM
Go with that, Don Juan – it works for you.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:05 PM
This is really scary. I do hope the police have evidence and catch these vandals. Our elected officials should have respect – whether we agree with them or not – and safety and security for themselves and their families.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:20 PM
Don attacking tommy on this is a cheap shot.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:27 PM
It’s no problemo, jay – I got big shoulders.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:40 PM
That doesn’t sound like a denial, Tommy Boy.
Tommy Boy?! I’m hilarious. Now you do one, Tommy!
You’re right, Jay. Tommy is a very reasonable individual and deserves nothing but respect and admiration for the civil discourse he brings to the debate. I mean, he never throws out wild accusations, takes unsubstantiated personal shots or makes obscene comments. We’d be better off if more Americans were like Tommy and his big shoulders. He’s carrying the weight for all citizens and we owe him a debt of gratitude.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:43 PM
You got that “right”, Don Juan.
But, it’s hard, what with all the rightwingnuts ’round here. Real hard. Hard work. Real hard work, to work hard. But I try. Even though it’s hard, hard work.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:53 PM
Sounds like some kind of wingnut vandalizing all of those houses. I hope they are caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. These people have families, and should not have to feel threatened by anyone.
It is time to disagree without becoming disagreeable.
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:04 PM
I do still believe it’s partisan in nature, likely being one of the RNC Welcoming Committee types. Extreme liberals (sort of like Tommy except skinnier).
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:15 PM
“It’s no problemo, jay – I got big shoulders.”
That’s true.
He’s also got a big, flabby belly; big flabby arms, big vagina, and a big big mouth.
What Cheeto boy isn’t tellin’ us is that those big shoulders don’t have any real work to do, given the fact that the only miniature part of Cheeto boy is his brain pan.
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:22 PM
Whoever these people are, they should be arrested and jailed.
This crosses all bounds of decency.
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:51 PM
If only a “dedicated” reader of MDE had some video. Michael, do any of these fine officials live near a Perkins parking lot? Hahahahaha. Just ribbing ya, buddy.
Seriously, my house in Minneapolis was hit once, it sucked. I heard Norm has longtime friend that will be buying him some paint as an early holiday gift…hahahaha. Okay, sorry.
Now then, I am declaring that whomever did this was anti-American– finally something me and Michelle Bachmann will agree on.
October 22nd, 2008 at 7:42 PM
This kind of bi-partisanship I can do without.
Was this a lone individual or a group? For one person this is probably close to three hours of driving, not counting getting to and from the starting point. An awful lot of prep work went into this, it was not spontaneous.
Will the police apply handwriting (spraypainting?) experts to determine if there was more that one perpetrator?
I look forward to the cops nabbing this joker(s).

This sounds like something Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church could do. They’re the group that pickets dead soldier’s funerals as punishment from God, accused the Pope of being the Antichrist and accused the Catholic Church of being the “world’s largest pedophile machine”.
As for the reference to Psalm 2 – here’s a brief summary found on the web – “To rebellious kings (Psalm 2:1-3) God responds vigorously (Psalm 2:4-6). A speaker proclaims the divine decree (in the legal adoption language of the day), making the Israelite king the earthly representative of God (Psalm 2:7-9) and warning kings to obey (Psalm 2:10-11). The psalm has a messianic meaning for the Church; the New Testament understands it of Christ (Acts 4:25-27; 13:33; Hebrews 1:5).
October 22nd, 2008 at 10:02 PM
For anyone to do this to anyone, vandalize a home is totally repugnant. Dem or Rep, makes no difference, prosecute them all. This goes beyond the realm of all resonableness. Having strong ideas and beliefs is fine, and so is dicussion, but to act in this manner is a very sad commentary on our society of today.
October 22nd, 2008 at 10:48 PM
This is what happens when the police didn’t do anything to track down people who commited similar crimes in Stillwater last year. During a contentious school levy campaign, someone put a bomb in a family’s mailbox on primary election day. A guy had a lawn sign defaced with threats against his family. Someone else – Tom Nacey was identified as being involved – created a website targeting area anti-levy folks identifying their kids’ names, where they went to school, afterschool activities, license plate numbers of the family vehicles, addresses, phone numbers, etc. Also, over 200 campaign signs were stolen from the homes of people urging a No vote on the school levies. All told, the police did nothing. Overt and covert threats were made against people. With all this going on and no investigations by any of the law enforcement in the area cities or by the county, why would anyone investigate some harmless spray painting?

Something we all agree on….stupid act by a stupid person or persons.

“I do still believe it’s partisan in nature, likely being one of the RNC Welcoming Committee types. Extreme liberals (sort of like Tommy except skinnier).”
I agree Joe!
October 23rd, 2008 at 6:27 AM
Except, DareToBeStupid, I’m not an “extreme liberal.”
Far from it. For instance, not only am I a strong supporter of the death penalty, when it comes to jerks like Ted Bundy, I think lottery tickets should be sold, with the winner getting to flip the switch (proceeds to victims families). And tickets should definitely be sold for Alphonso.
I’m really rather conservative, which means that I’m not a Republican – because the GOP is NOT a conservative party, anymore.

THANK YOU!!
George Bush = 5 trillion dollars more debt, huge deficits, 40% large budget
October 23rd, 2008 at 7:45 AM
Patrick, what people forget is it wasn’t the Democrats that ran Nixon out; it was good Republicans that couldn’t stomach the Watergate crimes.
Good Republicans should have stormed the gates of the White House with Bush’s use of “signing statements”; stormed ‘em again over Gonzo’s claim “The Consitution doesn’t give Americans the right of Habeas.”
Good Republicans should have stormed the White House gates AND the steps of Congress at the debt and deficits Bush and the GOP controlled congress passed.
Good Republicans should have stormed the White House gates AND the steops of Congress when Bush cut a vacation short because of Bill Frist’s “diagnosis” of Schaivo, but Bush couldn’t be bothered while New Orleans was flooding.
Good Republicans should have stormed the White House gates when Bush failed to hold a single architecht of the failed Iraq plans accountable.
Patrick, I’m not the only ex-Republican in the DFL ranks – and with the DFL’s proportional representation, moderates and moderately conservatives DO have a voice.
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:28 AM
I for one am very pleased that Tommy left the Republican party. No party or organization needs someone like him. He is a partsan hack that specializes in being a rude jerk.
Unfortunately the DFL likes people of his ilk and will use him to their benefit.
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:47 AM
Tommy, I’m just guessing you liked Powell’s statement of endorsement.
I agree with everything you said.
October 23rd, 2008 at 10:04 AM
This sounds like Dave Thune’s feces throwing friends at the RNC Welcoming Committee.
Probably a few of them stayed around to work for Franken…….or ACORN….. to get bus money to get them to their next riot.

Tommy Johnson said:
“But, it’s hard, what with all the rightwingnuts ’round here. Real hard. Hard work. Real hard work, to work hard. But I try. Even though it’s hard, hard work.”
What?!?! Tommy Johnson is “cleaning up his act”? I’m sure some will miss his infantile name calling, but I certainly won’t.

Why I am with the Independence Party. Sick of both parties catering to special interest groups.
October 24th, 2008 at 11:21 AM
I think the elite media needs to do an expose on this fascinating develoment… hey, at least they didn’t carve backwards letters in their faces!
October 24th, 2008 at 1:43 PM
It’s strange how no news agency are reporting the fact that all “vandalized” homes except Bachmann’s belong to senators and representatives who voted for the “No Banker Left Behind” a.k.a. Bailout Bill just recently.
Nothing to see here, people…just some criminals blah blah blah…
Wake up!
