MORE EVIDENCE OF MADIA’S “POSTIVE AND UPLIFTING” CAMPAIGN
By Michael B. Brodkorb | October 26, 2008

In the last few election cycles, some random staffer on a campaign posts something dumb online, thinking nobody would notice or care and it ends up turning into an embarrassing story.
A dedicated reader of Minnesota Democrats Exposed sent me a link to the public Flickr photostream of DFL/Ashwin Madia staffer, Rebecca Brewster. Now Madia likes to claim that he’s running a “postive and uplifting campaign”, yet please note the the staffer above proudly posing next to campaign literature of Erik Paulsen and David Dillion with a black X across their faces.
Click here for the complete picture – make sure read the list she’s standing besides. What the heck does “Be Skinny b*tches for Madia” mean? Stay classy Team Madia.

This is a reminder that I am a part-time research consultant to Erik Paulsen for Congress. Minnesota Democrats Exposed is my personal blog and it is not created, endorsed, sponsored, or authorized by any political party, candidate, or candidate’s committee.

Holy Crap!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/my_camera_eye/2763181390/in/set-72157606412946301/
Did the Madia campaign really pay young female staffers to wear short dresses and hang out in VFW halls to meet vets?
This is sick.
October 26th, 2008 at 10:54 pm
I found the answer to my question
http://www.flickr.com/photos/my_camera_eye/2763182684/in/set-72157606412946301/
Read the caption
“this is our job: going to the AL and VFW to talk to veterens ” (the incorrect spelling is hers)
October 26th, 2008 at 11:01 pm
Wow, shocking. Madia’s campaign is staffed by twenty-somethings and they don’t like their opponent. Considering campaigners get paid less-than-nothing and have to run incredibly long hours, what do you expect?
October 26th, 2008 at 11:08 pm
I do love how Paulsen attacks Madia for going the low road by each time hitting a new low.
Seriously, this is stupid. We can’t go after Madia on the issues so let’s make an issue out of his volunteers.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:09 pm
Master of None: Pure class.
Plymouth Dem: She is a paid staffer.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:09 pm
So lets recap…in the last week Michael has now attacked third party candidates, attacked unpaid campaign volunteers, and cited student run polls that were admitted to be flawed. Keep up the good work! I can’t figure out if this is desperate or pathetic.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:11 pm
It’s been a great week on Minnesota Democrats Exposed.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:12 pm
Okay, Michael,
Let me rephrase.
I do love how Paulsen attacks Madia for going the low road by each time hitting a new low.
Seriously, this is stupid. We can’t go after Madia on the issues so let’s make an issue out of his staff.
That’s so much more classy Michael!
Thanks for clarifying.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:14 pm
“It’s been a great week on Minnesota Democrats Exposed.”
What, for Democrats? It has been entertaining watching the GOP completely melt down.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:14 pm
Well my mistake if she is “paid”…granted the pay is probably next to nothing being its not a presidential or senate campaign. Still a bad poster, but come on, a lowly staffer?
October 26th, 2008 at 11:18 pm
Brodkorb, you son of a bitch. You’re a real bastard when you attack politicians and candidates, but still, I understand why you do it.
But when you go after young people, mid and low-level staffers, I can’t believe it. This is a young kid who may have made a made a mistake, yeah, but now you go and humilate her and maybe destroy her job or next job. For a small poke at Madia.
Burn in hell.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:20 pm
Are you even a real human being? Do you have emotions?
October 26th, 2008 at 11:21 pm
[...] at MDE, Michael Brodkorb find some interesting pictures of a young female Madia staff member (paid staff member) hamming it up in her [...]
October 26th, 2008 at 11:22 pm
Dude,
What do you expect? Michael is a good enough part time researcher to know the Paulsen campaign is desperate and can’t win on the issues. What else do they have but going after volunteers and staffers for Madia?
We know who’s classy in this election and it isn’t the guy who’s been negative from the start.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:25 pm
The photos have now been deleted.
I’ve got screen captures of a few interesting ones at my blog.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:27 pm
This is the week that we all owe it to the political process to e-mail a link to this page to every single republican politician, past, present and future, to show them what Michael is doing to help their party.
He can dredge up mugshots from a decade and a half ago over an issue the voters have already rejected.
He can spend hours scouring the internet for pictures of campaign staffers standing next to a picture with the opponent crossed out.
He can search high and low for newsletters that are willing to endorse just about any candidate.
He can post rumors about candidates being arrested for crimes they were never actually charged with.
And, most importantly, as his one for five (soon to be one for six) track record in major races shows, he is capable of cashing checks without the guilt most feel when they steal money from others.
The republicans are in a bad way this year largely because of Bush fatigue and a number of economic issues largely outside of their control. But there is also a growing distaste for the politics of personal destruction that both sides have employed. And as the republican’s tour guide of this dive into the sewers, Michael deserves all the accolades he can receive for making this year a little worse for all republican candidates in this state.
Not only is he failing to help Paulsen win, his actions are actually hurting other republicans.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:28 pm
There’s no excuses for these pictures, but come on guys. A low or mid level staff worker? I’m not quite sure the crime fits the punishment.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:31 pm
This is the one who had Marxist listed on her political views on facebook, then it changed to Democrat Party, then she made her profile private. Which is all well and good, but why does someone who claims to be a Marxist find themselves attracted to Madia?
October 26th, 2008 at 11:33 pm
“I’m not quite sure the crime fits the punishment.”
PLEASE. Nothing is too low for Michael. He’d attack Paulsen’s own girls if he thought it would help Paulsen get elected.
And.. let’s not take that off the table. He’s pretty much gone through the entire list of people to attack.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:34 pm
I want to know who sent these young women out to the VWF’s and American Legions dressed like that.
The caption from one of the pictures read this
“This is our job, going out to the AL and VFW to talk to vets”.
It’s sick.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:35 pm
“who claims to be a Marxist find themselves attracted to Madia?”
I don’t know, why do racist idiots find themselves attracted to McCain? I’m sure it’s because McCain is a racist idiot right? RIGHT?
October 26th, 2008 at 11:35 pm
You guys are looking through facebook and myspace accounts of low level staff workers!!! Do you honestly have no lives?
October 26th, 2008 at 11:40 pm
“I want to know who sent these young women out to the VWF’s and American Legions dressed like that.”
Jesus, what are you, a 90 year old great grandmother? This is hardly a scandalous outfit. Prude. There are issues with the photos, but, that isn’t one of them.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:42 pm
I have a daughter that is about the age of this woman. I don’t think I’d like her dress like that to hang out at the VFW. How about you? Would Amy Klobuchar campaign in something like that? Would Ashwin send his little sister out in something like that?
When did the DFL start pimping their daughters?
October 26th, 2008 at 11:44 pm
[...] MORE EVIDENCE OF MADIA’S “POSTIVE AND UPLIFTING” CAMPAIGN | [...]
October 26th, 2008 at 11:45 pm
Brodkorb, Mater of None, etc…will you all just stop and think about what you’re doing for second. Whether I agree with your attacks or not, its fair game to do research on and attack the likes of Franken, Hatch, Klobuchar, any campaign director, etc. But think about what this means for some lowly young staff who made a mistake and probably makes next to nothing working for the campaign. Enough guys!
October 26th, 2008 at 11:46 pm
Master of None: I linked to your post – these pictures are embarrassing for Madia’s campaign.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:46 pm
Would Amy Klobuchar tell her female staffers what to wear? Would Ashwin tell his sister what she should be wearing?
You’re a prude.
This is hardly that scandalous of a dress. Jesus, it’s not like she showed up there in a bikini or a mini skirt.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:47 pm
Michael,
Your post is embarrassing for you.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:48 pm
Just hanging out at the VFW…

October 26th, 2008 at 11:53 pm
DFL is now DFLP
Democrat Farm Labor Pimps
October 26th, 2008 at 11:55 pm
Why would they post these pictures? This wasn’t a smart move.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:55 pm
So, you’ve sunk so low as to call Madia staffers prostitutes?
Again, who’s classy here?
October 26th, 2008 at 11:56 pm
It’s funny, I some times ask mysef why I don’t get along better with Repubicans and wish I coud think a little differently so as to relate to everyone.
Posts like this make me remember – it’s because I hate them. It’s because they pull shit like this without regards to who is hurt or destroyed.
Get a soul, Michael. You too, Masterofnone, with your sef-righteous bullshit about how wrong this is and then labing the pictures “madiaskank.”
October 26th, 2008 at 11:57 pm
Easy, Plymouth Dem…nobody wrote that on my blog and it wouldn’t be welcomed. The pictures do pose a problem.
October 27th, 2008 at 12:01 am
Michael,
“DFL is now DFLP Democrat Farm Labor Pimps”
I’m sorry, are there pimps without prostitutes? Explain to me how that statement doesn’t equate with calling the staffers prostitutes. Not to mention you are linking to photographs tagged “Madiaskank.”
You’re just as classy as MoN, Michael.
October 27th, 2008 at 12:02 am
Way to both name and attack underpaid college-age staffers. And way to post photos that were probably stolen from a MySpace account. Does no one on the other team deserve any sort of personal space?
Would you do this to your children, Michael?
October 27th, 2008 at 12:04 am
Also, MIchael, you’re linking to a post that gets even less ambiguous:
“First, here’s our young street walker campaign worker hustling up a likely veteran outside the Hopkins VFW. ”
Yeah, no one is calling Madia staffers prostitutes. Sure Michael.
October 27th, 2008 at 12:05 am
Plymouth Dem: Your dead wrong.
Master of None: I think it is a fair question to ask. These pictures are outrageous and embarrassing for Team Madia and the DFL. If there weren’t trouble, they wouldn’t have been removed so quickly.
October 27th, 2008 at 12:06 am
The pictures speak for themselves. No description is needed.
October 27th, 2008 at 12:08 am
“Plymouth Dem: Your dead wrong.”
What am I dead wrong about? Do you deny MoN’s post on your blog? Do you deny the text in the post MDE links to?
October 27th, 2008 at 12:09 am
“If there weren’t trouble, they wouldn’t have been removed so quickly.”
Or maybe the fact they don’t want these pictures being stolen and placed on attack blogs and where they can be labled a skank and prostitute.
October 27th, 2008 at 12:14 am
I take full responsibility for my comments and my blog text.
Do I think these women are prostitutes? Absolutely not.
Do I think their management is pimping them? Yes, Absolutely yes.
Who takes responsibility for giving these women the assignment to “micro-campaign” at the AL and VFW?
October 27th, 2008 at 12:17 am
PlymouthDem: The pictures speak for themselves and I bet that is why they were removed so quickly. This is really embarrassing for Team Madia and the DFL.
October 27th, 2008 at 12:19 am
“Do I think these women are prostitutes? Absolutely not.”
Yet, you have no problem calling them such.
“here’s our young street walker campaign worker hustling up a likely veteran”
October 27th, 2008 at 12:20 am
“PlymouthDem: The pictures speak for themselves and I bet that is why they were removed so quickly. This is really embarrassing for Team Madia and the DFL.”
Nice Michael.
Yet, my comments are directed toward what HAS BEEN SAID ABOUT THEM. Comments you’ve linked to. Comments you apparently embrace. Comments a staffer of Paulsen embraces.
October 27th, 2008 at 12:23 am
I heard the term “street walker” used on campaigns. I link to blogs that attack me. By your silly logic, I must “embrace” their message? You’re insane.
October 27th, 2008 at 12:24 am
Looks like Team Brodkorb is trying to change the subject from this.
October 27th, 2008 at 12:25 am
Aaron: My post was up first.
October 27th, 2008 at 12:26 am
“I heard the term “street walker†used on campaigns”
HA.
Yeah, I’m sure the meaning there is simply someone who is walking the streets. Sorry I was confused when pimp and skank are being thrown around as well.
Nice try Michael.
October 27th, 2008 at 12:27 am
Isn’t the staffer with the X’d out Paulsen piece the same person who you encountered at Perkins restaurant when the woman grabbed the signs?
Cue the tape – you may have found your gal.
October 27th, 2008 at 1:29 am
These last two months have Brodkorb reaching the same level of respect I have for Ann Coulter.
Dude, this is a staffer, who was not prostituting so why act like and ass and publish this with the insinuation?
MofNone, I’ve seen your daughter, wasn’t she just arrested in Pittsburgh for faking a police report?
October 27th, 2008 at 7:52 am
She’s kind of a babe.
October 27th, 2008 at 7:55 am
To be clear, the gal at the top of this page is kind of a babe.
The escort paid to fly by the VFW hall… I’m not even sure that’s a gal.
October 27th, 2008 at 7:57 am
Aaron, there’s nothing racist about the remark your hyperventilating about.
You’re an idiot.
October 27th, 2008 at 8:09 am
… well, except the ignorance of Lindner not knowing that homosexuals were persecuted during the holocaust. That’s not really racist or bigoted either, it IS, quite ignorant though.
October 27th, 2008 at 8:14 am
is michael a high school student? if so, that would explain a lot. this stuff is completely irrelevant to people who have a serious and mature interest in following politics.
meanwhile paulsen is training his GOP poll watchers for election day, instructing them in a campaign email that their job is to; “1.observer 2. deter 3.challenge”. deter!!! paulsen is blatantly encouraging his volunteers to discourage people from voting! he is launching an assault on our democracy and michael is busy stalking madia staffers outside of perkins and on the internet. pathetic.
October 27th, 2008 at 8:54 am
She’s cute. Is she single?
October 27th, 2008 at 8:56 am
[...] These posts from late last evening about the keep pictures posted online by a DFL/Ashwin Madia staffer keep generating an active amount of comments. [...]
October 27th, 2008 at 8:58 am
This web page is nothing but extreemist similar to the Bush administration. They are nothing short of faciast!
October 27th, 2008 at 9:05 am
MBB doesn’t ‘expose’ democrats anymore, he just ruins the reputations of those who take time to work on campaigns. Can’t get the candidate, go after his staff and family. Low and lame.
Think about what just made acceptable and what your life is going to be like over the next few years.
October 27th, 2008 at 9:09 am
John Wexler is a fascist, who apparently can’t spell.
October 27th, 2008 at 9:22 am
Ohforcryingoutloud…..
…..No one is trying to ruin anybody’s reputations. The pictures of the gals in sexy poses…. were posted on the internet by the gals themselves.
October 27th, 2008 at 9:22 am
I wonder. Do you think the Democrat party pays workinggrrlz comp. for it’s staff skanks?
I’ve also wondered if anyone ever checked to see if there is a tax stamp on the cigarettes Democrats pay voters with.
October 27th, 2008 at 9:48 am
Madias positive and uplifting campaign
I didn’t know that how young people dress was a major issue in this campaign. Youre the first to mention it.
I prefer to discuss the issues Madia discusses: the economy, the environment, the war in Iraq, the decimation of our Constitution and civil liberties, the growing budget deficit and his well thought out ways to address these problems. Thats the positive and uplifting campaign message I get from Madia.
You, as a paid consultant for Paulsen, continue Paulsens gutter campaign with this sexist attack on entry level staffers.
Could you raise you head out of the gutter for the next 7 days (it’s too late for today) and discuss real, meaningful issues? If you know anything about them, that is.
October 27th, 2008 at 9:58 am
If Madia wants to discuss issues, why does he employ bar skanks?
October 27th, 2008 at 10:14 am
Hmm! So this is how the liberal-progressive democrats got the VFW’s to adopt anti-military, anti-troops, anti Iraq policy positions!
October 27th, 2008 at 3:38 pm
Sure, let’s discuss real, meaningful issues. How far will Ashwin’s support go for Obama’s socialist policies and appointments? Oh, wait, no one is allowed to ask that, that’s like, race baiting. Oh screw it, bring out the whores!
October 27th, 2008 at 6:08 pm
Swiftee,
I’ve seen that fat slob of mullet that you married the first time and the crack skinny skee-ball skank you call Mrs Swift now. We all have seen your balding mullet.
Dude, you’ve got now room to talk. Both of these girls are attractive and didn’t ask for this. Tom Swift of South Saint Paul is a disgusting piece of shit.
However, he does have one helluva collection of photos of nude fat men. (hence his criticism of women).
October 27th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
The girls didn’t ask for this?…
They put their own pictures on the WORLD-WIDE Web forcryingoutloud….
October 27th, 2008 at 10:38 pm
Whoa…”bar skanks?”
That has no place in political discourse. You should be ashamed. Lots of times, college students work for political campaigns. They’re still college students. Relax.
October 27th, 2008 at 11:05 pm
I think this is a bit low. And the candidate – Erik Paulsen should be answerable for what his hired gun is making an issue.
October 28th, 2008 at 12:02 am
You are a sick fuck MBB.
Does Mr. Paulsen condone your facebook stalking and posting pictures of young women to further his political aspirations?
Mr. Paulsen’s daughters will soon be the age of these young ladies you are humiliating on your blog. Do you think he’d approve of their facebook and flickr pictures being displayed to further someone’s political campaign?
This is a pretty slippery slope MBB. Must be a rough job getting paid to scope out hotties on facebook.
This is the one who had Marxist listed on her political views on facebook, then it changed to Democrat Party, then she made her profile private. Which is all well and good, but why does someone who claims to be a Marxist find themselves attracted to Madia?
you fucking predator!
Hmm! So this is how the liberal-progressive democrats got the VFW’s to adopt anti-military, anti-troops, anti Iraq policy positions!
that is fucking laughable, Madia served in Iraq you douchebag….
October 28th, 2008 at 7:38 am
Say Zeigler? If you had one fact straight I might have gotten pissed, ROTFLMAO@U!…I’ve been married to the same woman as long as I’ve been in MN, and I live in W. St. Paul for starters.
I don’t know what prompted all of that irrational spew Zeigler….is your daughter a bar skank? Or are you emotionally attached to one, for some other reason?
BWahahaha!
October 28th, 2008 at 8:17 am
MinnPost does not permit the use of foul language, personal attacks or the use of language that may be libelous or interpreted as inciting hate or sexual harassment. We intend for this area to be used by our readers as a place for civil, thought-provoking and high-quality public discussion.
I have sometimes wondered if this blog is the manifestation of a mentally deficient person? Now I know it is. Anyone that would allow the use of such foul language and these personal attacks on young female staffers can only be seen as a serial purveyor of sexual harassment and hate.
October 28th, 2008 at 8:25 am
Yoni C., don’t you have a Hezbollah fundraiser to attend?
October 28th, 2008 at 9:38 am
And his co-purveyor of hate…Mr. Nut!
October 28th, 2008 at 9:40 am
Hahahaha!
Minnpost does not permit dissent of any kind, seeker. They’ve picked up right where the Star & Sickle left off.
There is no question that Minnpost is the manifistation of a couple of well heeled, yet mentally weak lefty’s that went off the deep end when 90% of the state stopped reading their DFL propaganda rag. So they pulled up the tent stakes, took all of their clowns in tow and moved the circus to the intertubes.
You intend for your little corner to be used by barking moonbats as an echo chamber for them to post inane, brainwashed pap.
Run along, now. Your lying ass won’t get any traction here and there’s some Republican trash cans out there you haven’t sifted through today.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:52 am
“use of language that may be libelous..”
Pfft.
I’d love to appear in court and watch some lawyer try and convince a jury that girl doesn’t look like a barfly looking for a daddy to buy her a drink…or a Democrat skank trying to buy a couple of votes with her legs.
Instead of wasting your time squirting moonbat tears where no one could give a crap less, why not spend some time explaining to your young female staffers that wearing hookerwear while stumping for votes, and being “skinny bitches” for their candidates isn’t very lady like, and is more likely to attract mockery than votes.
To say nothing about them posting pictures of themselves doing such things.
pffft. Talk about lipstick on a pig.
October 28th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
“Say, those cute little blonde girls in Erik Paulsen’s photos, is he pimping them?”
Why? Are you stalking children on the internet, nana?
Thanks for the heads up…we’ll pass it along to Paulson.
October 28th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
Oh Chestnut,
Only if I can get Nasrallah’s autograph there
October 28th, 2008 at 9:15 pm
The gal in this shot was cuter when you couldn’t see her cankles.
October 28th, 2008 at 10:40 pm
You’re a pig but that’s no surprise as you’re a Republican and the two go hand in hand. Paulson is a pig and will lose big in this election. He doesn’t have the good morals or values necessary for the job nor does he stand for the people of the CD3. So get used to it your loser.
October 29th, 2008 at 7:22 am
They’ve got nothing and MBB being the consultant is advising to go after staffers.
Douchebag. Even though you have now cut her face out of the stolen picture from her personal site, you’re still slimy stalker.
October 29th, 2008 at 10:25 am
David J. Ziggler is a piece of fascist dog shit.
