COMING SOON TO A MAILBOX NEAR YOU: BETTY MCCOLLUM STARS IN…

    By Michael B. Brodkorb | October 29, 2008

I’m not sure which mail piece is tougher - this mailer above from Ed Matthews’ campaign about Congresswoman Betty McCollum, or this mailing from Dave Carlson’s campaign hitting Representative Sheldon Johnson.

Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more information on this developing story.

Like that one is going to take Matthews over the top.

Damn that’s tough. I gotta step up my game.

This is a great add, Betty looks possessed. I think I will need to keep my cross handy, just in case I run into her in the hallway of the Blair Building. Last time she was standing by a mirror I didn’t see a reflection.

What I’m curious about is why all this money is being spent on attacking two candidates who are going to coast to relection.

I know you’re close to Ron Carey, having been paid by him and all, maybe you’ll want to pass along that this isn’t a very good use of funds by Republican candidates or donors.

As a 16+ year resident of St. Paul, I have NEVER voted for Rep McCollum, EVER. Are you trying to convince me to break my streak.

I have an Ed Matthews sign in my yard. It sits right next to my Franken and Obama signs. That should show you the level of regard to which I hold Betty.

But if Ed Matthews is the sort of candidate who would endorse crap like this, well, I may have to pull his sign out of the ground and give Betty my vote.

Who is Betty MaCollum? I live in the 4th CD and have never heard from this person. Is she real? What has she accomplished? Why didn’t the vandal go after her last week? Is it because he/she/they have never heard of her either?

Does she just punch in the clock and collect her per diem?

    8. Chestnut Says:

      “Who is Betty MaCollum?”

I heard she humped Bruce Vento’s leg once. He left his Congressional seat to her in his will.

The ad is great. Makes McCollum look like Gollum.

    10. DJZ Says:
      October 29th, 2008 at 9:25 pm

He left his seat to Chris Coleman. Betty snatched it from him.
I’ve been less than disappointed with her but, Ed Matthews? What’s sad is that she is not unbeatable but, you keep putting for sacrificial lambs and we’ll continue to send her back at 70% plus.

On the other hand, what the FOXNEWS is Ron Carey thinking about dumping money in 70% plus districts when Paulson, Coleman and Bachmann are fighting for their lives.

Thanks Ron- run for chair one more time, we need the Governor’s office..

I’d like to see Betty out of office as much as anyone, but that ad is a bit juvenile and a bit over the top.

Don’t need the distorted picture - Betty is scary enough as is. She’s a trick, and not a treat.
