Mike A very important thing that both Carey and Bachman were talking about. Go out and vote no matter what you think the results are going to be!
Carey talked about Florida in 2000. The media by calling Florida early, not calling Ohio which was a very large Bush win compared with other seats, Tennesse, created the impression of President Gore. Lots of people (including the Flordia panhandle which was still voting when the call was made) didn’t vote. The results:
* Gore had a chance to play games with Florida. Just a couple of thousand more panhandle votes would’ve stopped the whole Florida recount mess.
* The Democrats gained a lot of Senate seats, Michigan, Missiouri, Minnesota, and Washinton off the top of my head beause the Republicans didn’t go out and vote when they still had a chance to vote.
* Gore got his popular vote victory not because more people were going to vote for him when they got out of bed, but beause Republicans who were going to vote for him just didn’t go out after hearing that Gore had won Florida.
IGNORE THE POLLS AND GO OUT AND VOTE OR ELSE YOU HELP MAKE ALL THOSE POLL PREDICTIONS COME TRUE BY ALLOWING PEOPLE LIKE FRANKEN, TINKLEBERG, AND MADIA TO WIN WITHOUT EVEN TRYING TO STOP THEM.
