You have to remember that El doesn’t have Bachmann’s advantage of having god tell him how to vote on every issue.
The majority of congress relies on lobbyists to make the case both pro and con on pending legislation. There is nothing inherently evil about lobbyists. The gray area enters when members of congress start accepting illegal gifts.
But, I wouldn’t expect the Minnesota republicans to understand that there is any personal responsibility in remaining free from corruption.
