SECRETARY OF STATE RITCHIE UNAWARE OF ANY VOTING IRREGULARITIES FROM YESTERDAY’S ELECTION
By Michael Brodkorb | November 5, 2008

Secretary of State Mark Ritchie had a press conference earlier today to discuss the four upcoming recounts. The main focus of the press event was dedicated to the U.S. Senate recount. At the press conference, Secretary of State Ritchie said he was unaware of any voting irregularities from yesterday’s election.

I wonder if any of those reporters asked about how Duluth apparently votes at midnight and takes the hours of two to five to report their election results.
Hennepin County which has over 400 precints got most of them reported way before two in the morning. Dulth with 36 precints took their sweet time.

That’s strange. That would mean that Franken told a lie? He wouldn’t do that would he?
Oh, who am I kidding. That stupid bastard is capable of telling the truth. Of course Franken lied.

The plan is to convince everyone that Norm stole the election. Invalidate Norm’s victory much like Florida 2000.
I bet that Al Franken will never concede. He will get $50K a speech on how he was robbed by Norm Coleman and Karl Rove (that was a hologram of Karl on Fox News last night).
Norm had to come out and announce victory today. It puts Al having to continue to make the case on how he is going to win.

PB:
We don’t have anybody claiming today that they wanted to vote for Franken, but voted for Barkley.
We don’t have punch ballots so there isn’t an argument if the person really intended to vote for Franken.
Al’s talk about irregulaties isn’t that apparently Minneapolis wasn’t ready to let people to register vote. I wonder if these precints have 100% plus voter turnout.

I don’t quite understand why Norm thinks Al should abandon the recount.
For a Senator who is facing likely indictment on corruption charges to believe that his ability to get less than half of the vote gives him the pulpit from which to speak on any legal issue is highly laughable.
Norm should either outright question the integrity of the two supreme court justices and the Secretary of State who will be overseeing the recount, or he should do Minnesota a gigantic favor and STFU.

I would love a recount because it will show Coleman won by thousands of votes. A recount will expose all the voter fraud that happened in this election – by the Dems!
Me thinks Ritchie does not want this exposed!

Is it true Al is sayng voting was suppressed in the city of Minneapolis? I think my dog got the vote when I lived there. Of course, I had to vouch for him, and help him hold the pen in his little paws.

….even after he died.

Even if a recount is automatic, there is a winner of the original election. For Franken to suggest there is no winner of the election when Coleman clearly has MORE VOTES is simply a rediculus effort by Franken to once again sidestep the facts. If there were no winner, the losing vote getter would not get to choose whether they decide to force a taxpayer funded recount. Its common sense people– automatic recount or no recount: based on tbe votes cast, Coleman won…. Franken lost.

I’m sorry Democrats have been saying for years that Katherine Harris and Ken Blackwell weren’t fair. Given the fact that Ritchie has repeatedly demonstrated that he doesn’t care about performing his duties fairly means he should step asside and let just those two Supreme court justices look it.
Besides Coleman is saying that when recounts have been done in Minnesota unlike Florida where they create votes the margin isn’t going to change to let Franken win. Coleman said he will be an adult like Bacus and Allen was in 2006 so why can’t Franken behave like an adult in 2008?

“Secretary of State Ritchie said he was unaware of any voting irregularities from yesterday’s election.”
As dumb as he is, “Katherine” Ritchie also is unaware of the coming of winter.

The “Duluth delay” is weird but there is supposed to be at least one election judge from each political party at each precinct. There is always a shortage of “urban republican” election judges.
One potential area of inquiry is the background of the election judges. Did the “republican” judges, as self stated, just undergo an epiphany” after a lifetime of democratic activism? You might recall the democratic testimonials from long term republicans who supported democrats but FERC and other records showed them to be long term democrats. Hint: google
No one is totally pure here. Maybe five years ago I gave the $50 MN refundable to an opponent of the
proposed Burnseville Amphitheater project. We stopped the project but this candidate lost. It was a favor to someone who lived there.
The St. Louis County (Duluth) delay is very confusing. They should have the same optical scan systems as Hennepin County, which works, and I am very familiar with.
One thing that confuses me is the 100% counted figure. What about absentee ballots? At the live polls or live absentee voting (I think) a ballot is rejected by the scanner so the person can try again. Thus, the questionable ballots are those from very low population areas and the absentee ballots. I promote absentee voting but warn people to take time to do it right because they don’t have the scanner reject option.
One thing I wonder is about the absentee ballots like mine. We have 100% percent of the precincts reporting. Absentee voting was heavy this year(I used it) and the election officials can’t open or count absentee ballots until after the polls close. They had a really long day, are they going to prolong it by opening up the absentee ballots? They are under double lock and key so they can sit there a day or more. I am specifically talking about the mail in absentee ballots like mine. These don’t have the scanner error check but I can’t believe they were all counted on the busy election night.
Let me give kudos to our more veteran election offacals. They do a great job that is usually boring but once in a while is critically important.
Public announcement here first. I started a new blog http://BarackTerm.com Don’t know what I will do with it in the future.
