AP just reversed their call of a Coleman victory. Time for Norm to revoke his declaration of victory until the votes are recounted.

    LakevilleDad,

Suck up the loss in the Senate and in the Congress for your district. You won the White House and the majority of all other houses so perhaps you’ll finally have to start blaming the root cause of the problem. The root cause is not Bush or the hated Republican rich people. Sometimes mirrors reveal a lot.

  3. Swiftee Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 9:48 AM

Stinking Democraps are just too much. Franken lost. Period. End of story.

  4. Keep it Simple Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 9:55 AM

Franken thinks he has enough votes ….. his supporters just mistakenly voted in 17 other states…..

  5. naomi Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 10:00 AM

Let them recount – the results might show Coleman won in a landslide!

Yes, the Dems will have no one to blame but themselves when we see increased poverty and more terrorist attacks.

  6. Chestnut Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 10:12 AM

Not so quick. The DFL and their fascist friends will have no trouble “finding” enough votes to steal the election.

  7. Master of None Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 10:16 AM

Obama won the state by over 300,000 votes.

That’s 300,000 people that pulled the lever for change, but couldn’t pull the lever for Franken.

    That’s gotta leave a mark.

  8. Greg Lang Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 10:21 AM

    KSTP called for Franken.

In California they rejected alternative marriage, energy and automobiles.

  9. Tommy Johnson Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 10:24 AM

MoN – you are correct. It’s cause for some serious genuflection.

  10. Chestnut Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 10:25 AM

    “KSTP called for Franken.”

How’s that possible? Coleman is ahead by 725 votes.

  11. Master of None Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 10:31 AM

They didn’t, they have Coleman marked as the winner on their main page.

Can anybody get to the SOS website? It seems to be crashed again.

  12. Chestnut Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 10:34 AM

I’ve been out to the SOS page. It lists 100 percent returns counted, and Coleman ahead by exactly 725 votes.

  13. mustang09 Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 10:43 AM

Can we seriously trust Ritchie to conduct a fair recount? Can the Governor order some kind of oversight of Ritchie during the process, since Ritchie has most certainly not been a non-partisan SOS. I’m sure ACORN is burning up his blackberry giving him “advice” on how to make sure that any ballot with a smudge somewhere near Franken’s name will manage to end up in Franken’s pile. Ritchie is saying that the recount will be completed by hand, and that the judges will determine the *intent* of the voter, which optical scans cannot. Scary.

  14. Chestnut Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 10:44 AM

    NORM COLEMAN
    1,211,625 votes
    42.00%

    AL FRANKEN
    1,210,900 votes
    41.97%

  15. Swiftee Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 10:44 AM

Alright, now that Franken is toast I’ll repeat my offer to bet any moonbat $10.00 that Porn-O-Rama will be back in NY by the day after Norm sworn in.

    Any takers?

  16. Chestnut Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 10:55 AM

“Ritchie is saying that the recount will be completed by hand, and that the judges will determine the *intent* of the voter, which optical scans cannot.”

And this is how they will “find” the votes they need. Either by changing votes or by losing Coleman votes.

Ron Carey better have GOP election judges overseeing absolutely every step of this. There’s no room for error, and it won’t take much for Richie to steal this thing.

  17. Trompo Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 11:16 AM

It’ll be payback for Bush v. Gore. I love it!

  18. Mark Zist Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 11:17 AM

“It’ll be payback for Bush v. Gore. I love it!”

How so? Every recount in 2000 proved Bush the winner… even after Democrats handled the ballots enough times to make many of them indecipherable.

  19. mustang09 Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 11:24 AM

This thing will also make the lefties lose their friggin minds screaming about instant runoff now. I am sure they are eyeing up that giant gap between Franken’s totals and Obama’s, thinking that much of the gap went to Barkley. That will be the arguemnt they start selling in the press, maybe even before the recount starts. The editorials will start in a few days, using that gap as evidence that the electorate probably wants Franken more than Coleman, setting the stage so that it seems like justice when the recount steals this thing.

  20. Chestnut Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 11:44 AM

Instant runoff voting is for dip shits too stupid to make their minds up about who to vote for.

It’s a ridiculous and stupid idea.

  21. Patrick Black Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 12:04 PM

    Mustang09,

What are you talking about? It is impossible to understand what you are trying to say. The voters of Minnesota are repulsed by Franken and are not huge fans of Coleman, so they vote for Barkley.

Minnesotans would far rather have Coleman than Franken. That’s why Coleman won.

  22. Linus Van Pelt Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 12:08 PM

There is a problem in the SOS numbers for Two Harbors Ward 1 (Lake County). It looks like a typo in Franken’s vote. Franken’s vote appears to be understated by about 280.

A couple more errors like that and there is no more Senator Coleman.

  23. mustang09 Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 12:18 PM

Patrick, if you do not understand instant runoff, I won’t try to explain it to you here. I agree with you that Minnesotans greatly prefer Coleman, I am just trying to lay out a scenario that the uberleft will use to start to frame their case for Franken. The press will be a willing accomplice, regardless of their prior endorsements. Like a scorpion on a lion’s back, they cannot help themselves.

  24. Patrick Black Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 12:24 PM

I understand that; however, I have always taken you to be a young Dem, so it puzzles me why you would be explaining how the DFL will try to spin this race.

  25. mustang09 Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 12:25 PM

And notice how the missing vote/tabulating error scenarios are already floating around…280 Franken votes suddenly appear on the Range, whoda thunk it!

  26. Leroy Jenkins Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 12:34 PM

Minnesotans would far rather have Coleman than Franken. That’s why Coleman won.

Umm, 725 is a small town or a large church congregation.

Not a decisive margin of victory in a race with 2.5 million votes.

  27. Left is RIGHT Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 12:35 PM

I am no rocket scientist but it seems to me that more people in Minnesota did not want to see Norm reelected than wanted to see him reelected. That’s gotta leave a mark.

  28. Master of None Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 12:36 PM

“I am no rocket scientist ”

    You got that right.

  29. mustang09 Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 12:42 PM

Young Dem?! Oh crap either you have me confused with someone else I have been way too ambiguous when I comment! I think I once posted here that while I can’t stand Franken, I respected his trips to Iraq. I saw him there at Christmas in 2005, and he was funny, but I had spent the last year patrolling Baghdad so funny is relative..I think I also said something nice about Tim Walz once, I have known him for years, we were First Sergeant’s together and he is a nice guy, just has the wrong politics. He is also misleading as hell when he characterizes his military service, but I beat that horse to death in ’06.
No, if I were a Dem I would have to pepper my comments with Ad Hominem attacks and F bombs. Not my style.

  30. Judy Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 12:55 PM

Love the headline all you want Mikey. I am sure that Dewey loved the headline that said he beat Truman too!

  31. Michael Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 1:58 PM

“Umm, 725 is a small town or a large church congregation.
Not a decisive margin of victory in a race with 2.5 million votes.”

No matter putz…it is a victory nonetheless.

  32. Chestnut Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 2:22 PM

“I am no rocket scientist but it seems to me that more people in Minnesota did not want to see Norm reelected than wanted to see him reelected. That’s gotta leave a mark.”

Sure, and more people than that didn’t want Al Franken in the Senate.

  33. Leroy Jenkins Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 3:26 PM

…and more people than that didn’t want to see Dean Barkley elected.

    Shall we keep playing?

  34. Jeff Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 3:29 PM

of COURSE you love the headline “Coleman On Top” Michael

  35. Pig face franken Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 4:21 PM

You Minnesota people that voted for a failed comedian sicken me. Of course you were the same nitwits that voted for Jesse the Body Ventura….you’re truly classless people in my opinion.

  36. Bobbie Says:
    November 5th, 2008 at 6:24 PM

I think your comments are classless Pig face.

I’m no fan of Franken, but people have the right to support who they want; whether it’s because they think s/he is the best candidate or the lesser of evils.

    Grow up.

  37. Pig face franken Says:
    November 6th, 2008 at 12:27 PM

    Boobie

You grow a pair and be a man or if a woman be a woman. Use your little bit of talent and brains the Lord gave you and stop thinking like a rock. For heavens sake for you to say you have the right to support whomever you want is just nonsense. People like Jesse Ventura are one terms because they’re not up to the job. The same with Pig Face Franken. He’s a failed comedian (it pains me deeply to even suggest the he’s a comedian to begin with) He is despised in and out of Hollyweird. They couldn’t wait to get rid of him and even thought floating him hundreds of thousands of dollars would finally be the key to being Franken free. Little did they know that some Minnesotans did possess a little intelligence by voting Coleman. Those that voted for Barkley could be labeled almost as dumb. This guy didn’t pay his taxes or his WC for his employees, irritated almost everyone, wrote porn that even the pornsters realized he’s a hack. Little did anyone know that it was Pig Face Franken that played the pigman character on the one episode of Seinfeld…I think it was called “The Bris.” Yes that was our beloved Al riding on Kramer’s back…Kramer says “I saw a half pig half man.” That was Al. Imagine idiots voting for a failed comedian who couldn’t even construct one intelligent response to any question posed to him during those debates. Two words for you boobie, Jesse Ventura the dope head. Just google Hulk Hogan’s comments to Howard Stern on his radio show to find out a little more about what he said about Jesse Ventura. So anyone voting for Pig Face or Barkley are just plain stupid.
