COLEMAN’S ATTORNEY CONTINUES TO RAISE CONCERNS ABOUT VOTE CHANGES IN MOUNTAIN IRON
By Michael B. Brodkorb | November 11, 2008

Fritz Knaak, counsel for U.S. Senator Norm Coleman’s campaign, had a press conference at 11:00 a.m. today to provide the media with an update on the upcoming recount. Knaak raised concerns about the vote changes in Mountain Iron because the timestamp on ballot machine’s vote tape/printout reads “11/02/2008″, which was two days before election day.

The same machine was tested a few days before the election, and was ALSO off by 2 days.
What part of this do the republicans not understand? The machine was mis-calibrated.

Isn’t this post supposed to be dated two days ago given how old of news this is?

Produce evidence of the supposed misdated tape from two days before. And don’t blame it on daylight savings time, that’s one hour, not 48. Produce other tapes from the same machine. If it was tested before and found to be incorrect, why was it not fixed? It calls into question the entire competency of the election officials if they aren’t bright enough to realize that they need to fix the date on a machine.

LeRoy - Just what EVIDENCE do you have that the machine was also off by 2 days. It’s easy to make the claim, but I would like to see you back that up with EVIDENCE.

You should give this one up. Even your fellow members of the NARN say these votes were legitimate. That’s a rare failure of message discipline among MN righties; is Coleman’s sound machine coming unhinged because of this recount?

“The same machine was tested a few days before the election, and was ALSO off by 2 days.”
If was broken, and they knew it…why wasn’t it fixed?
Pretty handy to have a machine that spits out verification tapes with flexable timestamps.
Why are you stinkin’, lying Democrats in such a rush to sweep this one under the rug? You’re all about clean, verifiable elections, right scumbags?

Have you ever tried to hire a voting machine repair man two days before a national election in Mt. Iron?
November 11th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
Let’s make one thing perfectly clear: If this was Franken-leads and Coleman came up with 100 votes under these circumstances, the ACLU would have a tribe of lawyers in Mt Iron…delivered by George Soros himself.
Don’t kid yourselves, libs!
November 11th, 2008 at 3:19 pm
Has Coleman ASKED the ACLU to step in on his behalf?
I think if the request were to be made, and merit to the charges of voter fraud were to exist, they would be there in a heartbeat.

WTF??
Leroy, you’re an ass. No, really.

Hey Rightwingers,
I think that you should just start accusing these local officials of voter fraud and start naming the names of the local democratic and republican election officials in these districts who have signed off on these corrected numbers. These people have names, even home addresses. Get up there and start picketing in front of their homes. Demand answers. Instead of just making up stories and calling people names, why don’t you make a few phone calls. I have not seen one republican voting official from St. Louis County describing fraud. Why don’t you try and find one?

First, the date error discovered before election should have been reported to the Secretary of State BEFORE the election.
Second, the people doing the pre-election test, should have signed and dated the test tape with the correct date to document the date error, so the subsequent results aren’t called into question. It doesn’t appear they did that, either because the date was correct or they weren’t very competent, or there was something dirty going on.
The official post-election tape should have been marked with the correct date by each of the election judges who would normally sign the tape.
From an audit and legal perspective, you NEVER, EVER sign any document with an incorrect date - you scratch out the date, initial it, correct the date and sign the corrected document.

Rapists, terrorists, marching Nazi`s, cop-killers, even non -U.S citizen ‘criminals’ (terrorists) in GITMO get the ACLU running to them, but Coleman has to ask for them? Un-believable.

You understand we’re talking about St. Louis County here. Finding Republicans, let alone Republican election officials, entails high search costs.
Dr. Bob’s questions and comments are excellent.

Possibly. But these aren’t reasons for invalidating validly cast votes, if that’s what they were. A voter is in no way responsible for he time stamping function of a machine.
