COLEMAN FOR U.S. SENATE PRESS RELEASE: “COLEMAN FOR SENATE STATEMENT ON FALSE FRANKEN CLAIMS REGARDING BELTRAMI COUNTY VOTER”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | November 14, 2008

ST. PAUL – Statement from Cullen Sheehan, campaign manager:

“Throughout the day, we’ve been contacted by a number of media outlets regarding the Franken campaign’s accusation that an 84 year old stroke victim in Beltrami County had her absentee ballot rejected because of her medical condition.  This story was first promoted by the Franken campaign yesterday when, in a highly publicized press conference, they represented a story about an 84-year old stroke victim whose absentee ballot had been rejected.  However, we have now learned through media reports that this ‘victim’ was entirely fabricated. In fact, there are serious questions, based upon news reports, as to whether or not such an individual even exists.  We are now learning that the Franken campaign had likely been notified of this matter prior to their press conference, and yet, went forward and provided the media and the public with known false information. Additionally, according to local news reports in Beltrami County, election officials reported that private citizens had been contacted by the Franken campaign and asked to sign knowingly false affidavits concerning their rejected absentee ballots. Today, the Franken campaign said they are ‘investigating’ the matter further.

“While we are not sure what there is to investigate since election officials state they have absolutely no record of such an individual, we do know that this fabricated story was presented to the media and the public as fact, when it was known to be fiction.  We believe that this new information is both troubling and disappointing, and applaud local election officials in Beltrami County for efforts to ensure a fair, legal and transparent election.”

Exactly the response I would expect from a Senator who has now been called the fourth most corrupt Senator by the Al Franken AND the Minnesota Judiciary.

Leroy… are you defending the deceit and lies put forth by the Frankenfurters?

    Leroy -what a asshole

I’m just saying, fresh off his formal crowning by the state’s court system as one of four most corrupt members of the Senate, and with an indictment for bribery likely in his future, casting aspersions on the ethics of others seems to be the last thing one with any concept of propriety would do.

It just goes to show the audacious stupidity of Norm Coleman.

Leroy, are you infested with little demons doing great damage to your brain?

  6. J. Ewing Says:

Ah, yes, the “your guy is worse” story yet again. The only problem is that we KNOW for absolute fact that Franken lied in this case. Why should we believe anything Franken or his defenders want to say about Norm Coleman.

Even if it’s true that Coleman is the “fourth most corrupt” (which is absolutely unbelievable), I would wager the first 3 are Democrats. I’ll also wager that if Franken were elected, he wouldn’t be fourth, he would be tied for second!

  7. Sam Says:
    November 14th, 2008 at 7:23 PM

Ewing, you could have actually looked it up, but since you didn’t, I’ll give you the facts. The (attempted) objective standpoint of CREW- Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, named the 20 most corrupt members of congress for 2008. Of the 20, 14 are Republicans and 6 are Democrats. Two of three Senators on the list are Republicans (Ted Stevens and Mitch McConnell). The Democratic Senator is Mary Landrieu of Louisiana.

Coleman is the only Senator to receive a “dishonorable mention.” Now take into consideration that this is what Coleman sued Franken based on- saying that he wasn’t technically ranked the fourth most corrupt member of the Senate. This is the claim that Mr. Brodkorb himself said was a “lie.” Meanwhile, Coleman is on the verge of being caught taking $100,000 from corporate interests, funneled through his wife. This is what Republicans do. They lie about “absentee ballots in the trunk of a car,” they lie about Franken lying (ironic, ain’t it?) and they spend all their time and energy attempting to prevent votes from counting. They’re the party of morality, remember?

  8. Leroy Jenkins Says:
    November 14th, 2008 at 7:32 PM

The difference between Franken and Coleman is, when Franken learned that he had gotten an incorrect story from Beltrami County, he corrected it immediately.

I have yet to see Norm say word one about the fact that the 32 absentee ballots in the election judge’s car was a total fabrication on the behalf of his attorney, Mr. Knaak.

    SAM,

CREW is a partisan leftist group funded by your demonic friend, George Soros.

  10. naomi Says:
    November 14th, 2008 at 10:39 PM

    Sam and other propagandists,

George Soros’ money buys alot of propaganda.

The Open Society Institute is the cornerstone for the Soros Foundations Network, a group of Soros-funded organizations in more than 50 countries, which promote open-society concepts by influencing governmental policies.

The various branches and paid instrumentalities of the network include Democracy Alliance, MoveOn.org, America Coming Together, America Votes, The Center for American Progress, and other leftist front organizations, which advocate open borders for the United States — not for other nations but for the United States. These Soros-funded groups finance his camp followers, among them the Democratic Party, the National Organization of Women, abortion advocacy groups, various environmental groups, and last but not least, the increasingly powerful immigration special interest groups.

  11. naomi Says:
    November 14th, 2008 at 10:43 PM

CREW is a front group that is part of the Democracy Alliance, a network of far left groups formed or funded by George Soros and 80 other wealthy donors including Peter Lewis of Progressive Insurance, homosexual Tim Gill, actor Rob Reiner, and others.

CREW’s executive director is Melanie Sloan who formerly worked for Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) who has openly called for the impeachment of President Bush and is one of the most radical leftists in Congress. She also worked for Charles Schumer, Joseph Biden.

Naomi… you need to get out a little bit more. Do you really believe everything you read on the internets?

And what’s up with throwing a fine homosexual like Mr. Gill under the bus?

  13. danbrome Says:
    November 14th, 2008 at 11:00 PM

Again, I challenge any GOP apoologists here to make a single comment without calling a Democrat a liar.

Any takers, or does the broken record continue to spin?

  14. Maxus Says:
    November 15th, 2008 at 12:34 AM

DemoncRATS lie..that is their, your , M. O., Naomi is 100% correct.her facts are spot on .. The opinion of CREW is just that, an opinion.

  15. naomi Says:
    November 15th, 2008 at 10:02 AM

correction Maxus…The opinion of CREW is bought and paid for by leftist commies.

  16. Maxus Says:
    November 15th, 2008 at 11:23 AM

I stand corrected naomi. Soros et al … are nothing short of Communists
