FRANKEN ENLISTS THE HELP OF GEORGE SOROS TO RAISE MONEY FOR RECOUNT
By Michael B. Brodkorb | November 17, 2008

The fundraiser for numerous ultra-liberal partisan groups, George Soros, is scheduled to raise money for Al Franken at an event in New York on Thursday:
“I need your help right away. If you have already maxed to my campaign or are federally maxed this cycle, you can still contribute legally to the Franken Recount Fund–anyone can give up to $12,300 to our recount effort and the election cycle limits don’t apply.
I will be in New York City on Thursday, November 20th for a special reception and dinner with Vice President Al Gore at the home of George Soros. I hope you will join me at the event. If you can’t make it, I hope you will contribute as much as you possibly can to help ensure a fair recount.” Source: Al Franken for Senate fundraising e-mail, November 14, 2008
Soros is also a contributor to Secretary of State Mark Ritchie’s campaign. Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more information on this developing story.

You think this is why Soros sh*tcanned his MiniMoni sockpuppets? Maybe he needed the extra cash to help Ritchie swing the election to Porn-O-Rama.
Hey, fraud isn’t cheap these days. Payola has gone up, just like everything else.
Or maybe Porn-O-Rama is floating in his resume around for a sweet sockpuppet gig on one of George’s internet joints….interesting.

Again, even if there is no fraud going on, the appearance of improper events can be just as bad. Do not Franken and Ritchie realize this?

Ritchie needs to remove himself from the recount. He can’t be trusted to be fair and nonpartisan when one of his campaign donors is holding a fundraiser for the candidate’s whose race he is supposed to be recounting.

The fair and legal recount will insure that the voters of Minnesota elect Senator Al Franken.
All the rest is noise… All of it.
Let me quess, the only proper event would be a formal announcement that the Minnesota DFL has been eliminated. Anything short of that would be improper. Am I close?
Bunch of clowns. Let the system work.

Loris = One of the clowns I mentioned.

Would it be possible to have a totally nonpartisan group of election officials in including the Secretary of State? Wouldn’t there always be people from both sides including the Secretary of State? I fail to see the outrage that the SOS just so happens to be a democrat, and that, because of this fact, fraud and cheating will be running rampant. Had the SOS been a ReBublican I suppose we would have a fair and honest recount?
By law the election officials are required to allow one Franken volunteer and one Coleman volunteer to observe the recount process at each table that counting is going on at. This is to help ensure that things are done in a fair way. If that isn’t fair enough I would encourage any who feel that it is not, to write letters to their state representatives and express your concern. This will be the process for this recount, but if you would like to see changes to the rules of a potential future recount, you need to make your voices heard so that change can come to the process.
I believe that there isn’t anything wrong with the way the recount is scheduled to be done later this week. I think the system is pretty good, and should work out just fine.

The republican message on the recount (and in the larger sense) is growing thin.
They talk about election fraud, but provide no evidence.
They talk about fiscal conservatism, but provide no evidence.
They talk about the sanctity of human life, but provide no evidence.
Republicans are losing ground nationally because they have no action to back up their talk.
Mark Ritchie has handled this recount with great skill and impartiality. And the republicans are forced to admit that by sniping at him from the weeds, and then running to hide when they are forced to bring evidence to back their claims.
I have set the offer out on several posts here. Show me ONE example of Ritchie making a partisan decision that will effect the recount.
And like good republicans, you all run and hide, only to come back on other threads and try to pretend like you don’t know you have been called out like the cowards that you are.

You think this is why Soros sh*tcanned his MiniMoni sockpuppets?
Swiftee: Nah. Soros could afford to pay his MinnieMon folks, if he thought he was getting his money’s worth. But, as several folks have pointed out, after you own the cow, you generally don’t keep paying for the milk.
I don’t see it as surprising and/or shocking that Soros is supporting Franken; the Democrats aren’t above 60, yet, and even if they were, they’d want to get another slot to make room under the bus for Lieberman.

LeRoy, I hope you and Dems enjoy the next four years playing defense……..your much better at attacking others

I suppose we should be glad that Soros has stepped up…otherwise some poor kids’ charity would be getting fleeced right about now.

Do the federal campaign fundraising limits apply to money raised for the recount? If so, does it count against the General Election cycle cap?

Naomi-
SIX years, there pumpkin. SIX years.

“I hope you will contribute as much as you possibly can to help ensure a fair recount”
Why do you need money for a fair recount?
Yeah, I know, lawyers don’t come cheap.
Keep it in the courts until you win, right Al?

LeoTARD.. I believe naomi was talking about 4 years until the next presidential election… but we only have to wait 2 years until the drubbing of the Dems at the congressional level… with the Clintonites running the show in DC Obama wil lbe a disaster
