MUST READ FROM MINNPOST: “AS WALZ’S STAR RISES, DFLERS WONDER: WHAT ABOUT A RUN FOR GOVERNOR?”
By Michael B. Brodkorb | November 24, 2008
MinnPost published a must read story today about a potential run for governor in 2010 by Congressman Tim Walz. My favorite quote of the story comes from MN GOP Chairman Ron Carey:
“‘And it helps that he can’t mask that he’s a liberal, despite his claims to be a moderate Minnesotan,’ Carey says. ‘I often say that the only thing conservative about Tim Walz is his haircut. And his military background does not guarantee election.’” Source: MinnPost, November 24, 2008

Seriously, how can any quote from Ron Carey be a favorite, regardless of your political views?
The guy is a babbling fool, as he has proven time after time after time.
But I suppose he at least provides some entertainment value… so
Nevermind!

I’d be surprised if Walz doesn’t run for Governor. But we had better find a better candidate to run for Congress than Brian Davis or else this seat will be gone again.
If Walz stays in Congress, I suspect he’ll have the seat for as long as he wants it. It’s the job of Ron Carey and others to criticize Walz, but what the GOP elite in the Twin Cities do not understand is that Walz is very popular in the district – so popular that he won every single county.
