If you neo-con kooks would just support Instant Run Off Voting (IRV), you probably could have had Normie back in Washington for another 6 years of criminal activity. But, now you face the prospect of Franken.

IRV would benefit all you radical libertarians and thuggish theocrats too! You wanna change your party, you should support IRV. You hate the status quo two party BS, you should support IRV. If yu ever thought Ron Paul was cool, you should support IRV.

If you need someone to explain IRV to you, go ask your kids math teacher. It really is elementary.

    Take care,
    Alec

    My liveblog post is here.

This is a defeat for Franken, though I don’t believe that it’s a surprising defeat.

IRV is a deceptive and potentially dangerous non-reform masquerading as a reform. If adopted, the cure could be worse than the disease.

It is an erratic voting system because ranking a candidate higher can actually cause the candidate to lose, and ranking a candidate lower can cause the candidate to win. As if that weren’t bad enough, it can also fail to elect a candidate who is preferred over each of the other candidates by a majority of the voters. It is also much more difficult to implement with security and integrity because the votes cannot be summed as in most other election methods.

    Alec,

Whatever happened to one person, one vote? Under IRV I could potentially vote for 2 people. This assumes that more than 2 people are on the ballot. Many of the races had only 1 person and other races had only 2 to choose from. What if I can only stand 1 person? Could I vote twice for that person?

And and jbenson2 pointed out, having IRV would make any recount just that much more fun.

It’s time to grow up and throw your support behind 1 person and 1 person only. Try proposing to 2 people at the same time and see how far you get.

You liberal nutjobs can’t figure out how to fill in ONE little circle, how you gonna explain to your idiot voters how to do it TWICE?

For a good explanation and updates on the IRV lawsuit in Minneapolis, go to http://www.mnvoters.org It picks the arguments against IRV apart.

Saxby Chambliss won an election..now he must run again..and may lose because of the Obamobots…. IRV,,,NEVER!!!!

    Maxus’s deep thoughts:

GOP candidates and voters are superior and perfect in every way.

DFL voters are fat, they smell, they are liars, they are moonbats, they are stupid, they are uneducated, they are gay, they are turds, they steal, they fart, they snore, they are poor, they are immigrants, they are black, they look funny, they love porn, they hate women, they are clueless, and they should not be allowed to vote for DFL candidates.

    Did I miss anything?

Yes danbrome, you did miss something.

    They are Naive –

    1. having or showing unaffected simplicity of nature or absence of artificiality; unsophisticated; ingenuous.
    2. having or showing a lack of experience, judgment, or information; credulous: She’s so naive she believes everything she reads. He has a very naive attitude toward politics.

You forgot that one. Just thought I would point it out.
