"Seems to me they put up about the most flawed candidate any major party could ever support without being completely laughed at."

It's a testament to the hate and stupidity that drives Minnesota DFLers that he was nominated. Worse, that it's this close.

I thought about voting for Barkley before November. 4. I'm glad I changed my mind at the polls.

The Dem Senate leadership is now wringing their hands at the prospect of the real Al coming to D.C.
Even though Schumer and the gang put up millions for Al, they really cannot be blamed for the flawed Al and his candidacy. The responsibility lies totally with the DFL leadership, Melendez, and the union leadership that hand-picked Al, took his $$$ and engineered a party endorsement. Ciresi, Jack N-P, and Lord Faris never looked so good.
Watch for some major changes in party and union political leadership when the Franken episode is finally resolved.

Average Joe-

To me, the worst part is that a candidate as badly flawed as Franken could come so so close to getting elected to the US Senate.

Was it the ACORN registrations or the youth (aka useful idiot) vote that made this race closer than it needed to be? Or was it the fact that Coleman is basically vanilla pablum and people on both sides of the aisle noted it?

Hard to say but one thing is for sure. Coleman is definitely gonna have to sharpen up his game over the next six years. With th exception of the UN Oil for Food investigation, I really can't tell you anything that he's accomplished in the last six years.

My biggest fear is that this extremely close election win will cause Coleman to be more "bi-partisan", IOW, more cautious that he already is.

more flawed candidates

What could be more flawed than a potty-mouthed, dirty-minded, carpet-bagging tax cheat? An axe murderer?

Anyone see Morning Joe today? Joe and Chuck Todd report leading Dems in the Senate do not want a Franken win. They report that the leadership thinks it will encourage the Hollywood elite into thinking it is easy to win a senate seat and more flawed candidates will run in the future.

Chuck reports that it is the conclusion of everyone in D. C. that had the Dems simply run any generic candidate in either Minnesota or Georgia that they would have won easily.

Chuck T. specifically said that any of the Mn. Dems in Congress would have defeated Norm easily.

Check the other postings on MDE and you will see a variety of sources referenced

Again, trying to confuse liberals with facts. They don't know how to process facts without their hate-filters.

You should have been able to post this 2 hours ago without any help from FOX 9. There is no source, other than SOS data, FOX 9 has nothing proprietary.

I guess when empirical data gets involved, you need FOX to hold your hand?
