MUST READ FROM MINNPOST: “MPR: FRANKEN CHALLENGES MORE BOGUS”
By Michael B. Brodkorb | December 2, 2008

“Although absentee and missing ballots may yet vault Al Franken into the U.S. Senate, it’s no secret he needs to have higher-quality challenges to close his current 344-vote deficit with Norm Coleman.
Instead, Coleman’s challenges are better, a new MPR analysis indicates.
The station looked at 1,000 contested ballots released by the Secretary of State — about a sixth of the current total — and determined 350 were ‘clearly’ Coleman votes versus 330 for Franken.” Source: MinnPost, December 2, 2008

The sample could have included 770 challenges by Coleman and 330 by Franken making Coleman’s challenges far more frivolous.
There is no way to know the number of challenges from each candidate represented in the 1,000 contested ballots posted. Therefore you cannot conclude ANYTHING about the frivolousness of challenges by either candidate.

Whatever is right.
We do not know how the sample of 1,000 was selected…with or without conscious bias? Likely it was not random, so only a fool would attempt to draw a conclusion from it. This is an non story. One can only wonder about the political motivations behind the release of the information.
