WITH CHAMBLISS WIN, TEAM FRANKEN’S U.S. SENATE INTERVENTION STRATEGY BEGINS TO GRIND TO A HALT

By Michael B. Brodkorb | December 2, 2008

Now that U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss has won, keeping the Democrats from any possibility of a 60-seat majority, the entire election season is quickly approaching an end.

Without the incentive to win at all costs in order to get to 60 seats, Team Franken is going to start feeling a little more lonely each and every day come Friday.

There will be few Democrats in leadership positions in Minnesota who are going to stand up and support Team Franken’s contention that they should fight for him at all costs, even if it means deciding to stand with Al himself instead of with Minnesota voters.

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar is now in a very challenging position.  She herself has stated that there really isn’t a need for 60 Democratic seats in the Senate because there will be Republicans (perhaps like U.S. Senator Norm Coleman?) who are interested in working across party lines to get things done.

Roughly translated: we don’t need Al Franken in the U.S. Senate, and I’m not going to put my own re-election at risk by sticking my neck out for him!

It will be interesting to see the developments come Friday, assuming Coleman remains in the lead after the recount is completed: how many Democrats are going to start publicly stating that they want no part of a strategy that involves holding up the work of the U.S. Senate in order to allow for Al Franken to try to slip in through the back door?

Just great about the Chambliss win!
Even though Kyle lacks a little in polish here, he is dead right about the carpet bugger Franken! A lot of other not so genteel adjectives on him also apply, but not to be listed here considering the imaginative capacity of this audience.
    Thx’s. for all M.B.B.

Is it possible for something that never started to grind to a halt?

Leroy, how do you figure it never got started? Franken’s campaign has been floating this for over a week. The crooked Senate leader Harry Reid weighed in on Franken’s idea. Now they’re setting up a lobbying HQ in DC.

Franken is a complete asshole. The faster that piece of shit moves home to New York City the better.

You read it here first. A lefty comedian running for the Senate deserves a response from the silent majorit, i.e. right-center. The response: Dennis Miller v. Barby Boxer in the Golden State in 2010.

Kyle is a complete asshole, and frankly, a piece of shit.

Kyle, when are you going to stop babbling, and say something coherent? I can be patient, but please don’t make me wait until AFTER the Franken inaugural.
