MN GOP PRESS RELEASE: “FRANKEN CAMPAIGN CALLS FOR GOVERNMENT INVASION OF A CHURCH!”

By Ryan Flynn | December 4, 2008

St. Paul- Republican Party of Minnesota Chair Ron Carey today called the Franken campaign’s decision to call for a forensics investigation of a Minneapolis Church “both offensive and completely out-of-control” and asked for the campaign to stop its harassment of Minneapolis election officials and Church officials.

“Today’s demand from the Franken Campaign that government authorities invade the University Lutheran Church Of Hope, essentially cordoning it off and conducting a forensics search, is both offensive and completely out-of-control.  At what point does the Franken campaign simply conduct itself in this recount with some semblance of dignity? Demanding that the government invade a place of worship—and require taxpayers to foot the bill for that invasion—is bizarre and repulsive. In addition to a loud slap in the face of local election officials, the Franken campaign’s demand for information on the administrator of the church is simply tantamount to government-sponsored persecution.  The Franken campaign has routinely questioned the integrity of local Minnesota election officials who are doing their civic duty and helping out with the recount efforts, and today’s demands from their  campaign should be rejected by all Minnesotans  who value the way in which we conduct ourselves and elections in this state.”

Franken Campaign Demands Search Of Lutheran Church, Which Served As Polling Place On Election Day:

“Democrat Al Franken’s campaign called Thursday for Minnesota officials to engage in a ‘systematic, forensic search’ for 133 ballots missing in a Minneapolis precinct favoring the Democrat. … ‘We are calling upon the Secretary of State, Hennepin County, and the City of Minneapolis to complete an intensive search,’ said Franken attorney Marc Elias in a conference call, addressing reports that 133 votes have gone missing in a Minneapolis’s Third Ward. Elias said every person who touched or transported the ballots should be interviewed, and any polling place, vehicles, or warehouses that have held the ballots should be searched.” (Michael O’Brien, “Franken Wants ‘Forensic Search’ for Ballots,” The Hill, December 4, 2008)

University Lutheran Church Of Hope Is Located At 601 13TH AVE SE in Minneapolis.

I know you’re new and all, but you gotta watch out when MNpublius beats MDE to republishing MN GOP press releases.

Has Frankenstein paid his taxes yet?

Hmm. A house of worship. Perhaps God intervened and took the missing ballots in order to maintain election integrity, which, apparently, is something that Angry Al doesn’t have. Yes, it’s that word integrity – something we should maintain in a house of worship.

I should also add that by house of worship, I’m not just talking churches but also mosques, temples and synagogues.

Why doesn’t Cranky Carey pipe down? Doesn’t he want a fair and accurate result?

    What a baffoon.

I don’t think it’s an invasion when you invite voters into the church in the first place.

Wow, Ryan, your writing style is so consistent with Michael’s. Ron Carey should really be listed as a co-author too.

You read it here first. If an outspoken lefty comic, like Stuart Smalley, wins, then expect a response from the Silent Majority, i.e. the center-right core of the country. Dennis Miller will have to challenge Barbie Boxer in the Golden State in 2010. Consider that Kossacks.

Great work Ryan, looking for missing ballots at a polling place is a total OUTRAGE! I would assume that if Coleman has ballots that are simply “lost” that he will make no effort to find them. Then Ron Carey can talk to us about what a commendable act it was to just forget about figuring out where missing ballots are. Is that correct?

Ryan, please don’t be like Michel and his boss (Erik Paulsen) and hide in silence on the blog. It would be a welcome change for someone posting stories here to answer the readers questions. Looking forward to your answer.

I guess I’m confused as to what the BFD is. If a church is OK to use as an official government site, i.e. a polling place, during an election than it should be treated as such during a recount and be subject to all the same rules/laws/procedures as non-religious polling place sites. Seems to me Ron Carey is making a mountain out of a mole hill. What a waste of Rebublican-donor money to employ this moron.

When will Team Franken start the body cavity searches looking for additional votes???

Is it me or does Franken looremind you of the Joker from the early Batman series?

I guess “lack of ” Integrity has forgotten how King county Wa seemed to “find” ballots until the libtard won?

But hey! it’s obvious that the libtard party is mainly comprised of felons, illegals and dead voters.

ACORN is showing that it did it’s job.

Franken forces contend there was an episode of “Quincy” were Jack Klugman’s charachter did this same forensic search for ballots. As the Franken spokesman said, “It was really neat, and it could work for us”.

  16. Payload Says:

I am not sure the DFL wants close scrutiny of the voter registry at this precinct. almost half the votes are same day registration. Whaddaya bet half those same day registrations are untraceable?

  17. Michael Says:
    December 4th, 2008 at 9:07 PM

Franken is just showing he desperation. He knows he has lost. Not man enough to concede gracefully.

  18. danbrome Says:
    December 4th, 2008 at 10:47 PM

Wade Seeker… your characterization of the Democratic Pary and it’s members shown just how misinformed you are.

When you suggest something is “obvious”, you really need to have at least a shred of evidence, or you sound like a complete fool.

    Your ignorance is astonishing! Seriously.

  19. danbrome Says:
    December 4th, 2008 at 10:52 PM

    Payload..

Whaddaya bet the voters in this precinct have by law the right to same day registration, regardless if it is 5% of them or 100% of them. Your insinuation that voters who register on election day are somehow “untraceable” confirms just how naive you truly are. Quit making up false charges and study the constitution. Then you might be better able to argue your positions here.

Do you consider Cranky Carey your mentor, or what?

  20. danbrome Says:
    December 4th, 2008 at 10:55 PM

Michael.. if Franken is so desperate, then why do I sense a drop of sweat on the tip of your nose, as you consider the real possibility of a Coleman defeat? You are just kidding, right?

Let’s count all valid ballots and wish the winner well.

  21. danbrome Says:
    December 4th, 2008 at 11:00 PM

MN Fan.. Do YOU want a fair and accurate count of the ballots, or what? Seriously.

  22. Michael Says:
    December 4th, 2008 at 11:01 PM

There is no possibility of a Coleman defeat, It will only happen if the disgusting troll manufactures phoney ballots or gets the Senate to steal the election for him. I snse you are the desperate one. Your troll is going down…down…down.

  23. danbrome Says:
    December 4th, 2008 at 11:18 PM

    Michael:

No possibility? Do you have any clue what you are talking about?

If all valid ballots are counted and Franken has the most votes, then Coleman will have been defeated.

You sound like Kyle… if Franken wins the system is a sham, but if Coleman wins, the system is the envy of democracies across the globe.

Seriously, don’t you want a fair and accurate count of ALL valid ballots?

When Franken-stein returns to Californication can we have a good-riddance party at the airport? I’d love to see atleast a thousand people giving him the send-off he so deserves! Too bad tar and feathering is out of style.

  25. danbrome Says:
    December 5th, 2008 at 9:28 AM

Why would Senator Franken go to California, when he was raised right here in St. Louis Park? How can he build his Senate staff so far from D.C.?

  26. Pete F Says:
    December 5th, 2008 at 10:16 AM

Lived in St Louis Park for 25 years and never once saw or heard about Franken even visiting. He is from New York.

  27. naomi Says:

I believe he needs to return to California to thank all his Hollyweird friends for their support.

    Pete…

We all know that Al was born in NY, but grew up in a middle class family in St. Louis Park, MN.
He’s a graduate of The Blake School in Minneapolis (1969), and Harvard cum laude (1973).

  29. naomi Says:
    December 5th, 2008 at 12:57 PM

I’m amazed Franken-stein remains so stupid after all his fine education.

  30. Pete F Says:
    December 5th, 2008 at 1:18 PM

db, whats your point? Al never grew up, anywhere. Al left St Louis Park and never came back until he decided to run for senate. Al didn’t even attend the St Louis Park Public School system – not much of a resident if you ask me.

I lived there 1976 to 2000. Never once saw the dude. Never heard anything about him.

Al is from New York. Spent a few years living in Minnesota with mom and dad. Al left and didn’t look back until he decided he wanted to run for Senate.

It is very simple DB, Al is a carpetbagger.

  31. danbrome Says:
    December 5th, 2008 at 2:32 PM

Naomi… have you ever met Al Franken? He is very articulate on the issues, and has the heart of a lion. His passion for justice and honor is impressive.

  32. danbrome Says:
    December 5th, 2008 at 2:39 PM

Pete.. you sound like a fool.

Are you really Ron Carey in disguise? I Suppose you would say that Al Franken is ALSO “not one of us”.

What a babbling idiot. Al grew up in St. Louis Park and left town to go to college. What a shocker!

Is there a particular grocery store you insist that he frequented, or maybe a church or synogogue.

Let’s hope he went to a different barber than Cranky Carey… sheeeeesh!

Is Carey your mentor, or what?

  33. Pete F Says:
    December 5th, 2008 at 3:19 PM

danbrome, to you I may sound like a fool. On the other hand you are a fool.

Left town to go to college. For 30 years? Obviously a slow learner.

I have no idea what they hell you mean by “Is there a particular grocery store you insist that he frequented, or maybe a church or synogogue.” It makes no sense son.

Now go have a good laugh.
