MUST READ FROM THE STAR TRIBUNE: “FRANKEN’S CAMPAIGN PROTESTS 133 MYSTERY BALLOTS FROM MINNEAPOLIS”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | December 4, 2008

“An uproar Wednesday over 133 mystery ballots that may or may not have disappeared in Minneapolis became the newest controversy to roil the U.S. Senate recount.

At issue was a discrepancy between Election Day and recount totals in one of the city’s precincts.

DFLer Al Franken’s campaign lodged a protest over 133 votes that it said could not be accounted for during the recount, at a possible cost to him of as many as 46 net votes in his race against Republican Sen. Norm Coleman.

Franken officials sent a letter to the secretary of state’s office and Minneapolis elections director Cindy Reichert demanding that the votes from the northeast Minneapolis precinct not be officially reported until a search is conducted for the ballots.” Source: Star Tribune, December 3, 2008

“In a statement, Coleman campaign spokesman Mark Drake said, ‘The Minneapolis officials appeared to be quite thorough in their search today, and it is disappointing that the Franken campaign, once again, is attacking local election officials and blaming them for simply doing their jobs.’” Source: Star Tribune, December 3, 2008

Someone should tell the duck that the election official who he had earlier falsely accused of leaving absentee ballots in her car said later today (and in the quoted article) that the ballots were never found, and as such, election judge incompetence does seem to be the root problem here.

seriously…how do 133 votes disappear? correction… “may or may not have disappeared” …sorry…things like this are only part of the reason this recount is necessary but it certainly doeasnt help that voters opinions are being discounted because their vots cant be found? maybe theyre in the proverbial “black hole” with everyones missing wallets and car keys…

Does anyone seem to notice how grandiose and ridiculous the DFL/FRANKEN claims have become since Saxby Chambliss won the Georgia runoff ? or, How their lapdog friends in the press now print every DOPEY allegation they make ?
