MN GOP PRESS RELEASE: “OFFICIAL COMMUNICATOR OF MINNESOTA SECRETARY OF STATE: PARTISAN LIBERAL BLOG”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | December 30, 2008

Republican Party of Minnesota Chair Ron Carey today released the following statement regarding the Secretary of State making “The Uptake” the official feed of the Canvassing Board.

“It’s amazing that a partisan, liberal blog has been made the official provider of the video for the Canvassing Board.  To make a group with an agenda and a record of attacking one of the candidates before the Canvassing Board the purveyor of information is beyond improper, it calls into question the judgment of those who made the decision for this partisan website to be the sanctioned broadcaster of these important proceedings.”

    Ron, you freaking clown.

I suppose that means the Uptake is not “one of us”, eh?

    Great spin!!!

Um, BTW… anyone can plug in and stream it from there. It’s just the UpTake that’s doing it. Why isn’t MDE doing a stream?

Carey is so desperate at this point.

I hope this keeps going until late summer and you douchbags have no senator representing MN. This is tranparently illegal and immoral. coleman won the election, but keep on screwing around until; you get the outcome the DFL wanted.

So The Uptake is helping steal the election by showing live unedited video of the canvassing board? Next you’ll accuse C-SPAN of bias for showing live unedited events. What stopped any conservative media from doing likewise? I guess you’d have to deal with facts instead of conspiracy theory.

Of course, pointing that out makes me part of the theft.

Yes, and this blog is “fair and balanced” and not at all a tool for the republican party.

Nice dodges by the Ritchie apologists. But the real question is: why isn’t the Secretary of State using “official” state cameras and websites to stream the proceedings himself? Considering that the room they are using is equipped with cameras and live web streaming capabilities, it’s a mystery why they wouldn’t use them. If for some reason, the equipment isn’t available (although it’s permanently fixed in the room), maybe Ritchie should reserve a different hearing room.

Putrid doesn’t even begin to describe Brodkorb and Carey’s attack on the Uptake. These two buffoons are so terrified that their Normy is being taken down by Al Franken, they’ll stoop to trashing a cameraman. Imagine that–Big Tough Prosecutor Norm Coleman kicked to the curb like a sack of trash by a friggin comedian! That’s Franken’s best punchline yet.

Norm should concede now so his lawyers can get working on his and Laurie’s money-laundering scandal, rather than working to keep him in a Senate seat that he’ll be expelled from anyway.

Follow the Money!! Who benefits? Ritchie will make his pals rich by giving official sanction to this leftwing site.

    Rudolph,

What if Mary Kiffmeyer were Secretary of State and she allowed the Taxpayers’ League to broadcast the recount proceedings over the web on their site? I can only imagine the outrage every liberal blog would be showing.

Let me repeat: Mark Ritchie is an official of the state. The recount is an official, legal state proceeding. The canvassing board meets in Room 15 of the State Capitol, which is equipped by cameras and microphones paid for by taxpayers and operated by state employees. Why can’t Ritchie utilize their services and stream the event in a fair, non-partisan way? It is truly shocking that an arm of the Democrat party is the “official” venue for the webcast.

you guys would complain about sex.

but the real issue is none of you are actually having any, you’re too busy whining about politics

i feel bad for those of you who are married and have kids

The state employees who do this have probably been layed off or reassigned to snow plowing.

This video streaming service is just like the no-bid contracts that Bush handed out to his buddies in Iraq. Oh wait, they are doing this for free! No wonder the right wingers are confused!

  13. Chris Says:

    BC,

Nice try, but no state employees have been laid off. And certainly not ones who work for the MN Legislature.

You’re an idiot if you think it’s great that a liberal blog is providing this “service” for free.

It’s called fairness and impartiality. Maybe Ritchie and the rest of you should give it a try. Minnesotans deserve it.
