COLEMAN FOR U.S. SENATE PRESS RELEASE: “COLEMAN CAMPAIGN SEEKS CONSISTENT STANDARD TO ENSURE NO VOTER IS DISENFRANCHISED”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | December 31, 2008

ST. PAUL – The Coleman for Senate campaign today filed a petition with the Minnesota Supreme Court asking that the Court order the review of all rejected absentee ballots identified by both campaigns, as well as local election officials, and to have the review take place together with both campaigns and the Secretary of State.  The petition is aimed at remedying current inconsistencies taking place by seeking to enforce the previous Supreme Court order that both campaigns and Secretary of State’s office to agree on which of these ballots on the list should be opened and counted.

“Earlier today, we asked the Franken campaign and the Secretary of State’s office to join us in operating under our prior agreement on rejected absentee ballots,” said Fritz Knaak, lead recount attorney for the Coleman campaign.

“With that not being the case, and with inconsistency and disenfranchisement taking place in the current process, we have no other option than to ask the Minnesota Supreme Court to intervene and ensure that no voters are disenfranchised and that consistent standards are taking place.  Absent this remedy, there will be further disenfranchisement of Minnesota voters. And, the accuracy of this recount will only slide further into doubt.”

A copy of the petition is attached [click here].

I do not feel disenfranchised. Who should I contact at the Coleman campaign so I can be exempted from future bullshit press releases?

Both Coleman and Franken have now shown they couldn’t careless so long as long as they win. Whoever is declared the winner should resign both are pathetic tax and spend liberals who will do us no good.

Now days, Minnesota and the rest of the country is full of mindless lazy wimps. If this were to happen 80+ years ago, their would be at least one patriot that would put his country’s integrity above himself. Where is the fight in people? All over the country we are watching things like this happen right in front of our eyes. Yet, no one does anything. If Franken gets this seat, it will be a true crime. Republicans will just accept it and move on to the next sham election. Democrats control everything in this state (House, Senate, School districts, TV, News Print, Most Major corporations…) and Republicans are too passive to fight for any of it. At the very least their should be aggressive protests at the capital, and everywhere Franken goes every day he is in office. Why even have elections if there is one party that will do anything to win and everyone just watches them cheat and doesn’t do anything about it?

I would hate to run the numbers on YOUR brain.

    YIKES!

    Paul..

With all due respect, shouldn’t the candidate that receives the most votes be sworn in as our new United States Senator?

    What’s the problem?

    Mike..

Sounds like you are the only Republican left, according to your narrow definition.

    Quit crying!

DanBrome, you’ve forgotten today’s republiCon strategery: “If you can’t beat ‘em, CHEAT ‘em.”

Ol’ Smokescreen keeps going back to court trying to do just that; ol’ Smokescreen keeps losing. Why?

‘Cause ol’ Smokescreen’s a loser, pure and simple. But, eventually, he’ll be seated – in ClubFed, where republiCon Abramoff types with “R=Convict” go quietly, in retirement….

I have been saying for weeks…

Senator Coleman has the class to “step aside”, but does he have the nerve?

    I doubt it.

  11. Paul Douglas Says:

    danbrome –
The voter will not decide who wins in this case. He who counts or doesn’t count the votes will decide. Not to mention with out consistent rules being enforced in the recount, and the willingness through out the entire process to invent voters, allow dead people, felons and non us citizens  to have their vote count too. danbrome, you are a lot like most people now days. They view their political party like a sports team. They see the election as the superbowl, and the situation we are in now is like overtime. How can Franken win? What move is your team going to make next? It is so easy to control the masses if you have them trained to think this way. It doesn’t matter what your team does, you will support them. The only thing you will pay attention to is if your team wins or is defeated every election. You can also feel like you are a part of a group and have a sense of belonging around other people that are fans of the same political party.

    Paul..

    Your intellect is incredible.

Voters vote, and election officials count the ballots. The candidate with the most votes wins.

Please keep your critical comments under about 500 words.
