You allege that judges appointed by a Republican are expected to be partisan conservatives. If you assess the US Supreme Court, you’ll find that John Paul Stevens was appointed by Gerald Ford. David Souter was appointed by George H. W. Bush. Sandra Day O’Connor was appointed by Ronald Reagan. Judges tendencies are often a surprise to the party that appoints them.

As for Ventura, he was not a middle of the road independent governor. As soon as he was elected, Tim Penny became a trusted advisor to him. There were many DFL partisans in the Ventura administration. Elwyn Tinklenberg was Ventura’s transportation commissioner. It’s certainly not a stretch that a Ventura appointed judge may be a partisan liberal.

Almost every decision the canvassing board made was in favor of Franken. They certainly interpreted a voter’s intent in a partisan DFL manner.

I’m appalled that you would label voter fraud as “flawed democracy”. Voter fraud is a criminal act. It should not be accepted as a part of democracy.

A stolen election should not be certified. If the fraudulent acts can’t be sorted out and nullified, then the only alternative is voiding the election. I would favor a special election, but in Minnesota an appointment is preferred because it saves money.

It is reassuring to me, as a liberal, that the judges that Tim Pawlenty has appointed over the years and served on the canvassing board are really partisan democrats. Based on his inept governorship, I guess that does make sense!

This whole recount process was filled with fraud. The morally bankrupt Democrats inserted extra ballots into the count in the DFL leaning precincts. Any precinct with more ballots than voter signatures should be discarded. The entire precinct should be discarded. No individual ballot within those precincts can be identified as genuine.

Norm Coleman has conducted himself with class and dignity throughout this process even as the election fraud was unfolding. I hope he ties this up in the courts for years. This election can eventually be declared void and then Governor Pawlenty can appoint a Senator.
